Hello Friends, As promised, here is another card using my new SU Bloomin Heart Die and matching stamp set. So far I have made about ten cards with this die and I am not sure I am quite ready to pack it up as of yet. This particular card was inspired by the following challenges. I think the silver paper really stepped this card up a notch. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to ask. Now it’s time for a Football Game! Go Broncos, but I really wouldn’t mind if the Panthers won either. I personally just like Manning better over Newton. I hope it’s a good game. I know there will be a commercial about the “Alexa” which is the amazing department my son is involved with at Amazon, so I am excited to see that one for sure! Take care, Nanc’
Hello Friends, I had some time last night to get creative, and when the time presents itself you have to take advantage of it. I needed a thinking of you card for a dear friend that was diagnosed with cancer, and if that isn’t bad enough she already has MS. It breaks my heart! She has the kindest heart of anyone I know, so I hope this card cheers her up just a little. In the past month alone, I have needed 5 cards for friends with cancer! :( Makes you realize that you need to count your blessings each and everyday!
I pulled out my prisma colored pencils and went to work, after I found this great Color Combo over at the ColourQ. I also used one of my favorite stamps from Stampin Up called Love is Kindness. I did in fact use a silver prisma colored pencil to shade the newspaper…so I hope it still qualifies for the challenge.
I hope you are having a terrific day! Mine has started very well! I went to breakfast with my sister and a dear friend, and squeezed in a bit of shopping too! Take care, Nanc’
Hello Friends, I have another Christmas card to share with you today! Talk about a super quick, easy, and post office friendly card…this one is the ticket! I will be linking it up over at Sunday Stamps where they have this beautiful color scheme and over at Virginia’s View where they have asked us to get out the glitter this month! Well, that is easy since glitter and Christmas go hand in hand! My work station in my studio will probably be sparkling with the remnants of Christmas for the next few months. LOL
Card details: The papers are SU, the bow is from my school, the button is from MFT and the sentiment is also SU. I think the Victorian border on my DP really makes this card shine, that was done with my Fiskars paper-cutter that I couldn’t live without.
Hope you are enjoying your day! I’ll be back early this week for another card or two for you! Take care, Nancy
Hello Friends, The focus for today’s card was inspired by the colors for this week’s challenge over at Colour Me, where I am fortunate enough to be a Featured Designer for their 100th Challenge. With that said, I have to also add that they have decided to shut down Colour Me after this challenge. :( As I was so very sad to hear this news, as I do enjoy color challenges very much and was looking forward to being with them the entire month of December, I do understand that running a blog is a FULL- time commitment! With that said, I am so thrilled to be asked by Brenda to design along with this talented team for their last challenge. Thanks again Brenda for the invite, I really appreciate it! The colors for this last challenge our Soft Sky and of course neutrals are always welcome.
I paired my card up with the great Sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch….that is if they don’t mind me adding my sentiment to the bottom instead of the top. Fingers crossed!
A bit of card info: The stamp set I used for the ornaments is from Verve and is called Holly Jolly Christmas. The sentiment is from Stampin UP. The Blue and White card stock is also Stampin UP, except for the shiny silver that is bordering the ornaments. That is a fun piece of paper I picked up in Lakeland at a Scrapbook store. It’s so pretty!!! I heat embossed the ornaments with silver …obviously. LOL I was real happy with how this card came together….in-fact I maybe making a few more! So stay tuned!
Let’s show Colour Me some love shall we, and join them for their last challenge! Take care, Nanc’
Hello Friends, It’s color week this week at Just Us Girls and Sharyn has picked the perfect color combo for this time of year! My card was so much fun to make that I I decided to make quite a few variations of it in other colors as well. You should see it in turquoise! Well, you might see it sometime before Christmas! I have a photo below to kinda help better explain how I made my tree. The stamp set that I used is one very old retired Stampin Up set called Branching Out. I think it was one of my first stamp sets I ever purchased. I used the negative on my tree die from my school and then stamped the insides using the splat stamp (not sure how else to describe it) to make the leaves of the tree in 3 different SU shades of green. The bottom border dies are from Verve and the sentiment is from SU. Added some bling and the stars from the die and I was all done. Relatively quick card with a great punch. I brought the supplies to make this card to a girl’s get-together with some of my friends about a month ago and they really liked it.
See you in the gallery, Nanc’
Hello Friends, It’s Color Week over at Just Us Girls and the colors Chris picked out for us this week tend to make you think of Halloween this time of year. I decided since I am not much of a Halloween person, I would take the colors and make a sympathy card that I was in need of for a good friend. I also was excited to ink up this gorgeous stamp set I just got a couple weeks ago. I am still a work in progress when it comes to coloring but I refuse to give up!
If you decide to join us over Just Us Girls you just might be chosen as our Chic of the Week and then onto being asked to be a future guest designer with us.
I am also linking my card up over at CAS-ual Chic where they have a Tic- Tac- Toe challenge going on and I chose the center horizontal row of Coloring, Spritzing, and Die-Cutting. Then over at Addicted to Stamps and More, where it’s anything goes.
Card Details: Stamps-Stampendous; Bouquet for You, prisma colored pencils and I also decided to splatter my background as well. Love that simple technique that adds such a great punch!
See ya, Nanc’
Hello Friends, I am back today just in the knick of time to enter this card in the Colour Me challenge I struggle with the color orange and I wanted to prove to myself that I could come up with something rather quickly and be happy with it. I had the chevron piece of washi tape already mounted on the white cardstock laying out on my desk and I used that as my starting of point. The butterfly and background leaves are from Gina K Designs, the script background is from Stampibilities , and the sentiments are from a new stamp set I recently got from Stampendous called a Bouquet For You.
Hope you are having a wonderful day! Nanc’
Hello Friends, I had a terrific time on Sunday getting crafty while it was raining outside. I just love when the weather works out according to my plans, so I don’t feel guilty about being in my studio when it’s nice outside. Today’s post is pretty chock full, so please bear with me! Julee Tilman over at the Verve Store has this Fabulous FREE Latte Love Digi Set for all of us to enjoy! Don’t delay, as it is only available for a short time. Thanks Julee!!! I absolutely love it and couldn’t wait to print it out and get to work. I am linking this card up to quite a few Challenges! The first is the Verve Inspiration Challenge for the month of September. Next, is for the 4th Viva la Verve Sketch of the month. Next, is the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, that I am sure you have run into in blog land recently. And last but not least, I am back playing again this week with Just Add Ink where they asked us to use our 3 favorite colors. This is definitely one of my all time favorite combinations! I looked at all the rules and regulations on all of the Challenges and I don’t believe I have violated any of them by linking to 4 challenges, at least I sure hope not!
Here are a few Card Details and another view of my card: I used water colored paper and and inked up and spritzed water on my Embossing Folder to get the effect I was looking for the background leaf paper. I colored the coffee cups with my Prisma Colored pencils. I spattered the same 3 colors of ink onto my sentiment panel. The heart die is also from Verve and is a must have! I distressed all the edges with my SU distresser. Added the ribbon and the button brad to finish it off. Excuse the ribbon….. I had it adhered them both to my card in two continuous loops and didn’t like it at all. So I decided to cut them while they were already in place, which explains why they are so short and are clearly the back of the ribbons, as there are no dots showing on parts of them. Epic fail there! Other then that….Love…..Love my card!
Thanks so much for sticking with me today for my long post! I sure appreciate you stopping by! Nanc’
Hello Friends, My first Christmas card for this year…WooHoooooo! I am so behind the eight ball! When summer started I told hubby I was going to do all my Christmas cards this summer…bahahahhaha! Like that happened, along with cleaning all the blinds in the entire house. Well, there is always Thanksgiving break. LOL As soon as I saw the 5th and final sketch over at Viva La Verve, I knew I was going to turn it into a Christmas card. The DP is from Stampin Up and the center ornament is a die cut that I am fortunate enough to have at my school. I decided to use the Verve stamp Set Pinecone Christmas and heat emboss the pointsettias. The sentiment is also from the same set. The double bow die cuts are also from my school. I am linking this card up to Merry Monday Christmas Challenge where they asked us to use Pastel Colors on our card. I hope the Bermuda bay color doesn’t disqualify me.
Hope you are further ahead of your Christmas cards than I am! If not, what are your waiting for! Take care, Nanc’
Hello Friends, It’s time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday! We have NO topping this time around, so all you need to do is make a Birthday card and or project! You can never have to many Birthday cards lying around, so I hope you join me and my wonderful teammates! If these colors on my card look vaguely familiar to you, then I am here to tell you that your not crazy! I posted a card a about a week ago with these exact papers, I loved the results so much, that I couldn’t wait to try it again! I am pleased as punch once again with the results!! I think it all has to do with the great Verve stamps I used, along with the fun Viva La Verve sketch that was my starting point! The stamps are from the Verve- Poppy Birthday Set. I heat embossed my sentiment and used a white gel pen to add some dots and lines on my poppies and leaves. The vertical circle edge die is also from Verve and is in that 3 Set die– cut pack that I am always raving about. I have all things Verve linked up for you!! The decorative circle die is from Spellbinders and it is also something I adore using! Any other questions, please ask.
I wanted to take a minute and tell you my followers, my quiet behind the scene stalkers ( don’t worry I am one of them too), and my dear friends (old and new) that leave me such wonderful comments, how much I REALLY appreciate it! It warms my heart each and everyday and I am forever grateful! I just realized the other day, as I was looking through some stats, that I have reached 775 posts! I couldn’t believe it myself! I think I see a milestone giveaway coming up in the future!! Much love and appreciation, Nanc’
