Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative!

Watercoloring and Spring!

Hello My Friends and Faithful Followers,

Today over at Just Us Girls Lisa has challenged us to use watercolors as our background.

The Design Team and I were definitely on the same wave length…a good portion of us used

orange somewhere on our card….is so funny with those things happen.

I just love Lisa’s card too!

Anyways,  Let me give you a few details on how this came together.

First thing I did was stamp the leaves and flowers (SU) with versa mark and heat

embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I took my

Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight inks and a SU Aqua Painter and streaked them

across the page.  I wiped off the excess ink that doesn’t stick to the embossed images

with a tissue.  Then I stamped my script in Brown Stazon Ink.  Last, I took

a paint brush that was heavily coated in Real Red mixed with Tangerine Tango watered down ink

and splattered the ink by shaking the paint brush.

( Make sure you cover your walls and workstation,

I didn’t and that ink went everywhere ! LOL)

Did the same thing with my Butterfly (minus the splat) which by the way is from Stamp TV.

The sentiment is from Verve!

All the paper is from Stampin UP.

Okay, I am also entering this over at Mod Squad  where they asked us to make

our own Background paper and to use 3 Spring Bright Colors.

Now,  Head on over to Just Us Girls and see what my other teammates did

with the Watercolor challenge and/or join me over at Mod Squad!

Find time to be creative…it’s good for the soul!

Happy Monday,

Happy for me…as I get another day off and a Mamogram and an Ultrasound…Yeah!!!

Anyhoo, at least I have the day off!

Today’s card is for the Mod Squad Challenge and Lee our hostess has challenged us

to use Red and Brown on our project!

That flower stamp is one of those Stamps…you don’t know where you picked it up

but your very glad you did…LOVE it!  The sentiment is Stampin UP and the

text stamp is from Stampabilities/ Michaels.

The button centers on the flowers is a die cut from MFT.

Paper is from Stampin Up and the Cardstock is Gina K Designs.

This card is going to be in the mail very soon and on it’s way to a dear friend!

I plan on showering her with as many cards as possible!

She needs it and is in my heart continuously!

Have a terrific day!

For a Dear Friend…

Hello Friends,

Today’s card is for a very dear friend of mine and a Fellow Design Team member,

who really needs a ton of prayer, love, and support right now!

I hope this helps in at least a small way to know how much I care!

Here are some more shots!

Pink and Brown is one of my all time Favorite color combos!

The top panel is a piece of pink vellum that I stamped on and the single brown flower

is heat embossed with brown embossing powder.

I also stamped the same image on the brown cardstock with versamark.

The sentiment is from Verve!

I am entering this card in the following challenges!

The Pink Elephant

Their requirements was to use your favorite color combo.

Paired them up with this great Sketch from my friend Lesley!

Inspiration time over at JUGS~

Hello friends,

School is back in session and this Chic is wiped out!

It’s going to take me a couple of weeks to get back to this

5 days a week and then some… work sort of thing!

Plus, my son left for college again on Wednesday

so it’s back to that empty nest feeling again.

Let me just say, I don’t like it very much at all!!

Hubby and I were spoiled this summer having Ty

here since the middle of May.  SIGH!!!

Anyhoo, speaking of school!

Tangii has a great inspiration photo for us this week over at JUGS!

This is what I did with it!

One of my teacher’s at school gave me this awesome sticker set last year

because she knew I loved to scrapbook.

I found it the other day as I was setting up my room

and thought this would be perfect for my card for JUGS!

So, I have a mixture of stamps, die cuts, and ink on this card.

I must admit I felt as if I was cheating using those stickers!

The paper is a stamp from Verve.  The sentiment is SU.

I distressed the card stock, the apple and the stem a little bit,

but looks as if I should have done more!  I thought the white pen

was a nice touch at the end!….and of course a ribbon!

I am also linking this up to the back to school challenge over at

The Friday Mashup!

Sure hope you join us this week over at Just Us Girls for our

Inpsiration Photo Challenge!

Here are the links to my fellow teammates blogs to

help get you started with some inspiration!

For the Love of Polka Dots…

Hello Crafters!!

It was my turn to post a project over at

The Crafty Card Gallery this month.

crafty-card-gallery DT

Jennifer had asked us to incorporate Polka Dots.

That was a great challenge for me because…..

Polka Dots are very near and dear

to my heart because my mother LOVED them!

So any time I see them, especially on clothes,  I think of her!!

So I incorporated my mom’s love for dots and how much

I love her, miss her, and think of her on my card itself.

What I have done here, is taken two pieces of ribbon and

glued them in behind the negative part of a heart that I cut out using my Cricut.

(Make sure the ribbon is tight.)

To give it some stability and so that you can’t see through it,

I adhered it to another piece of white cardstock to give it a backing.

Trimmed it out with some Pool Party and Basic black paper.

Added a MS heart border punch to a strip of black to add some interest.

The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

And finally, I took the sentiment and punched it out with a great

SU Modern label punch, and bordered it 2 more times.

This is a great trick.  Punch out the label punch again

and then cut it in half and put it on opposite ends.

All you see is the ends anyway and it looks like one

continuous piece.  If that doesn’t make sense….drop me a

comment and I will explain it better.

I used this interesting sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and these

great colors from Dynamic Duos to spark this card!

This card was a lot of fun to create!

Thanks for your continuous support….and make sure you

stay tuned because  I see a Blog Candy Giveaway in the very near future!

Craft Your Heart,

Enjoy the Little Things…

Second post for today!

I didn’t want to take a chance of missing this Clean and Simple Sketch over at

CAS(E) this Sketch along with this great color combo from

The Play Date Cafe  so I whipped something up this morning!

Mom Project

I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and I saw this strip of stickers that had the

best sentiments on it…and I thought what the heck.

I haven’t bought stickers in like forever!

It kind of feels as if your cheating!

Thanks for popping in and I will be back tomorrow

with this week’s CAS on Sunday’s challenge that

I know your going to love!

Sketch Challenge over at JUGS

Hello Craftin Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July if you live in the good ole USA

and if you do not, well I hope your weekend is starting off with a bang!

I am thrilled to be hosting this week’s Sketch Challenge over at Just Us Girls.

Here is the Sketch…

Remember you can replace the given shapes with shapes

of your choosing, just as long as the sketch is recognizable!

You also don’t have to cut out the shapes…that is just what I chose to do with them.

The most important thing is to get loose and have fun with it!

I have a few photos of my card so you could get a better look at it!

My sketch

I used my Creative Memories cutting system to cut out my circles.

The sentiment is from Verve.

Some flowers, butterflies, and rhinestones to finish it off!

All my talented teammates over at Just Us Girls did a wonderful job with the sketch,

so here are links to their blogs, so you can leave them some love along the way!

Hope you have a fantastic creative weekend and find some time to play along!
I will see you tomorrow with a Christmas in July card!

Clean and Simple Stamping

FTL246Just a quick hello today so I can link up this card that I made for Clean and Simple Stamping.

I have so many wonderful challenge sites that I like to play along with and

this one is no exception…it’s just been toooo long! :(

As soon as I saw this unique sketch I knew I didn’t want to miss it!

I combined 3 different stamps, raised one of my flowers and distressed the edges

to complete this quick and easy card.

The ink is Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder from Stampin Up.

Thanks for stoppin’ in,

Pink and Brown…don’t make a frown.

One of my all time favorite color combos is

PINK and BROWN!  The Dynamic Duos

colors for this week are just that…..

And I paired this great combo with a sketch from

Freshly Made Sketches.  They asked us to

try to Square things up this time.  I was thrilled, cause I haven’t

made a square card in quite sometime.

FMS Final 90-001

Sorry for the short post……

I managed to pull my neck and back out this morning just getting out of bed…

That’s what I get for getting up…lol

Not to mention, I have a sprained left wrist that has been wrapped for over a week and not

getting any better…But on a brighter note…Happy Summer Vacation! :)

I am beyond blessed in so many other ways…I shouldn’t even be complaining!

Card Details:

Cardstock: SU and CM

Stamps: Flowers-Gina K, Sentiment- Verve

Tools: Scorpal, Paper piercer, SU punch

ACC: Ribbon and pearls

Have a fantabulous day!

Make sure you stop by both sites and join me with these great challenges!

I have linked up both of their images for you!!!

Hang in There!

G’day friends!

Today’s card is for a challenge that I have admired from a far for quite sometime

and was determined to play along with again after I saw their beautiful “Muse Sample” this week.

I know I am not a complete newbie to the Case Study challenge, but I know it’s been a very long time

since I played along!  I don’t know about all of you…there are so many fantastic challenge sites

out there in the blogosphere.  I wish I didn’t have to work or sleep then maybe I could find the

time to play with all of them!! LOL

Okay, enough of the blah blah blah… :)

Here is my card followed by the beautiful sample that intrigued me to play along!

The link to Case Study is on the image!

What I like about these type of challenges…is that they are not so

restrictive….you may pull whatever you like from the inspiration to

get your mojo flowing!  It’s probably obvious I picked the placement of the

flower followed by the leaves for my interpretation.

Not sure you can tell,

but I put some of my leaves in the foreground and or background as well.

I also am linking this card up at another Challenge site

that I have neglected for quite some time now called!

Crazy 4 Challenges

They always have the best participants over there with

some MEGA talent!  As I said before…I am always checking out their

site…but haven’t linked anything up in quite some time!

They have asked us to use NO Designer paper on our project.

Thanks for stoppin’ in today!
