Hello Friends, It’s me again! WhooHoooo! I am on a roll this week! Today’s card is for two challenges: The Freshly Made Sketch of the week and The Challenge inspiration challenge! I didn’t have as much time as I thought the other evening after dinner, but wanted so badly to do something besides veg on the couch, so I whipped up something rather quickly! When I saw this photo I knew right away I wanted to pull out the Pink, Grey, Navy and the brick wall. So that is what I did. Then I saw the twine on the bottom of the photo and thought perfect! The floral stamp and the brick wall embossing folder is from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from Gina K. Designs.
This card may look very similar to my last card. I loved the layout and idea so
much and got so much positive feed-back, I thought I would make a similar one.
All stamps used are from Verve Stamps (Leaves, Elegant Flower, and Heartfelt Phrases)
along with some Red mesh ribbon for some added texture.
The buttons again are from MFT.
The flowers are heat embossed on clear vellum.
I am linking my card up to a few of my favorite Challenges that I stalk on
a regular basis…even if I run out of time to play along.
There are way to many great stamping sites out there…and not enough time! :)
Wouldn’t you agree?
My card today is Clean and Layering…or maybe just a lot of layering. LOL
Verves Red, White and You challenge!
I decided to use Teal (Bermuda Bay) just like Julee’s beautiful inspiration card.
And the Mod Squad where my talented friend Sharyn is hosting
and she asked us to add texture to our project!
That is where my Red Mesh Ribbon comes to play.
I so appreciate you taking the time out of your day to stop by
my blog and I have the above blogs linked up for you… so what are you
waiting for…go and check them out too!
Have you seen the new Challenge on the web?
Super clever huh!! Jackie Rockwell is the brains behind it! She is really Uber talented!
They are having a mini warm-up challenge this week, meaning it’s only going to be
up for 5 days instead of every other week.
I LOVE making tags and I couldn’t wait to play along!
Here is my TAG followed by the inspiration photo.
I pretty much paper pieced almost the entire thing!
The sentiment is from Verve and my Island and Sun
is something I picked up who knows where! Probably Michaels.
You must go check it out… it is overflowing with Design Team talent!
Hope to see you over there!
Today’s card is for 2 challenges…..
followed by this great idea over at Mod Squad.
My friend Karen is hosting this week so I wanted to make sure I played along.
I got it done just in time! Phew!
She asked us to use an image that you would usually use for a masculine card, but make it a feminine card.
Clever idea huh?
Some card details:
Card stock is Stampin Up
Stamps: All Gina K- Inspiration Mosaic and Out West 2
Have a wonderful day,
Last night over at Stamp TV It was release time and I finally got to share
with everyone what I did with their newest stamp sets as a featured Guest Designer this month.
Here are each one of the Fabulous Stamp Sets and a link for you on how
to purchase them for yourself! I had such a great time working with my fellow guest designers-Judy and Karen.
The pair of you did FABULOUS, and it was so much fun working alongside you both behind the scenes these past few weeks.
I find you both so talented and funny, and am thrilled that we have become better friends! Of course, none of this would
have been possible, without the guidance of Lee Murphy the Stamp TV Design Team Member. You rock Lee!
Here we go…time for my cards!
The first set was designed by Beth Silaika.
It’s called Fleur di lis.
I really LOVE it! So versatile with great patterns!
Next, we have Debbie Corbari with another fabulous Diva! Golf Diva.
Really happy with the way this came together! So much fun to make!
Theresa Momber set coordinates well with her other Out West 2 stamp set!
This was the most challenging for me…but I wasn’t about to give up!
Now we have Rupa Shevde with this beautiful set featuring tons of
vases and florals called Flowers Bloom.
LOVE this set!
Last but certainly not least, we have Melanie Muenchinger’s set called Lots of Letters 2.
The sky is the limit for this set! A must have in your stamp collection!
Hope you enjoyed seeing what I have been up to the past few days!
I have really enjoyed playing with these new sets!!
If you have any questions at all please just give me a shout out!
Here are all of the sets that I featured and you can find them Here!
Hope you find sometime to be creative…it’s good for the soul.
Hello My Friends and Faithful Followers,
Today over at Just Us Girls Lisa has challenged us to use watercolors as our background.
The Design Team and I were definitely on the same wave length…a good portion of us used
orange somewhere on our card….is so funny with those things happen.
I just love Lisa’s card too!
Anyways, Let me give you a few details on how this came together.
First thing I did was stamp the leaves and flowers (SU) with versa mark and heat
embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I took my
Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight inks and a SU Aqua Painter and streaked them
across the page. I wiped off the excess ink that doesn’t stick to the embossed images
with a tissue. Then I stamped my script in Brown Stazon Ink. Last, I took
a paint brush that was heavily coated in Real Red mixed with Tangerine Tango watered down ink
and splattered the ink by shaking the paint brush.
( Make sure you cover your walls and workstation,
I didn’t and that ink went everywhere ! LOL)
Did the same thing with my Butterfly (minus the splat) which by the way is from Stamp TV.
The sentiment is from Verve!
All the paper is from Stampin UP.
Okay, I am also entering this over at Mod Squad where they asked us to make
our own Background paper and to use 3 Spring Bright Colors.
Now, Head on over to Just Us Girls and see what my other teammates did
with the Watercolor challenge and/or join me over at Mod Squad!
Find time to be creative…it’s good for the soul!
Happy for me…as I get another day off and a Mamogram and an Ultrasound…Yeah!!!
Anyhoo, at least I have the day off!
Today’s card is for the Mod Squad Challenge and Lee our hostess has challenged us
to use Red and Brown on our project!
That flower stamp is one of those Stamps…you don’t know where you picked it up
but your very glad you did…LOVE it! The sentiment is Stampin UP and the
text stamp is from Stampabilities/ Michaels.
The button centers on the flowers is a die cut from MFT.
Paper is from Stampin Up and the Cardstock is Gina K Designs.
This card is going to be in the mail very soon and on it’s way to a dear friend!
I plan on showering her with as many cards as possible!
She needs it and is in my heart continuously!
Have a terrific day!
Today’s card is for a very dear friend of mine and a Fellow Design Team member,
who really needs a ton of prayer, love, and support right now!
I hope this helps in at least a small way to know how much I care!
Here are some more shots!
Pink and Brown is one of my all time Favorite color combos!
The top panel is a piece of pink vellum that I stamped on and the single brown flower
is heat embossed with brown embossing powder.
I also stamped the same image on the brown cardstock with versamark.
The sentiment is from Verve!
I am entering this card in the following challenges!
Their requirements was to use your favorite color combo.
Paired them up with this great Sketch from my friend Lesley!
School is back in session and this Chic is wiped out!
It’s going to take me a couple of weeks to get back to this
5 days a week and then some… work sort of thing!
Plus, my son left for college again on Wednesday
so it’s back to that empty nest feeling again.
Let me just say, I don’t like it very much at all!!
Hubby and I were spoiled this summer having Ty
here since the middle of May. SIGH!!!
Anyhoo, speaking of school!
Tangii has a great inspiration photo for us this week over at JUGS!
This is what I did with it!
One of my teacher’s at school gave me this awesome sticker set last year
because she knew I loved to scrapbook.
I found it the other day as I was setting up my room
and thought this would be perfect for my card for JUGS!
So, I have a mixture of stamps, die cuts, and ink on this card.
I must admit I felt as if I was cheating using those stickers!
The paper is a stamp from Verve. The sentiment is SU.
I distressed the card stock, the apple and the stem a little bit,
but looks as if I should have done more! I thought the white pen
was a nice touch at the end!….and of course a ribbon!
I am also linking this up to the back to school challenge over at
Sure hope you join us this week over at Just Us Girls for our
Inpsiration Photo Challenge!
Here are the links to my fellow teammates blogs to
help get you started with some inspiration!
Have a great weekend,
It was my turn to post a project over at
The Crafty Card Gallery this month.
Jennifer had asked us to incorporate Polka Dots.
That was a great challenge for me because…..
Polka Dots are very near and dear
to my heart because my mother LOVED them!
So any time I see them, especially on clothes, I think of her!!
So I incorporated my mom’s love for dots and how much
I love her, miss her, and think of her on my card itself.
What I have done here, is taken two pieces of ribbon and
glued them in behind the negative part of a heart that I cut out using my Cricut.
(Make sure the ribbon is tight.)
To give it some stability and so that you can’t see through it,
I adhered it to another piece of white cardstock to give it a backing.
Trimmed it out with some Pool Party and Basic black paper.
Added a MS heart border punch to a strip of black to add some interest.
The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.
And finally, I took the sentiment and punched it out with a great
SU Modern label punch, and bordered it 2 more times.
This is a great trick. Punch out the label punch again
and then cut it in half and put it on opposite ends.
All you see is the ends anyway and it looks like one
continuous piece. If that doesn’t make sense….drop me a
comment and I will explain it better.
I used this interesting sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and these
great colors from Dynamic Duos to spark this card!
This card was a lot of fun to create!
Thanks for your continuous support….and make sure you
stay tuned because I see a Blog Candy Giveaway in the very near future!
