Pink and Brown…don’t make a frown.

IMG_0003

One of my all time favorite color combos is

PINK and BROWN!  The Dynamic Duos

colors for this week are just that…..

DD#56

And I paired this great combo with a sketch from

Freshly Made Sketches.  They asked us to

try to Square things up this time.  I was thrilled, cause I haven’t

made a square card in quite sometime.

FMS Final 90-001

Sorry for the short post……

I managed to pull my neck and back out this morning just getting out of bed…

That’s what I get for getting up…lol

Not to mention, I have a sprained left wrist that has been wrapped for over a week and not

getting any better…But on a brighter note…Happy Summer Vacation! :)

I am beyond blessed in so many other ways…I shouldn’t even be complaining!

Hang in There!

G’day friends!

Today’s card is for a challenge that I have admired from a far for quite sometime

and was determined to play along with again after I saw their beautiful “Muse Sample” this week.

I know I am not a complete newbie to the Case Study challenge, but I know it’s been a very long time

since I played along!  I don’t know about all of you…there are so many fantastic challenge sites

out there in the blogosphere.  I wish I didn’t have to work or sleep then maybe I could find the

time to play with all of them!! LOL

Okay, enough of the blah blah blah… :)

Here is my card followed by the beautiful sample that intrigued me to play along!

The link to Case Study is on the image!

What I like about these type of challenges…is that they are not so

restrictive….you may pull whatever you like from the inspiration to

get your mojo flowing!  It’s probably obvious I picked the placement of the

flower followed by the leaves for my interpretation.

Not sure you can tell,

but I put some of my leaves in the foreground and or background as well.

I also am linking this card up at another Challenge site

that I have neglected for quite some time now called!

Crazy 4 Challenges

C4C-blog-button4

They always have the best participants over there with

some MEGA talent!  As I said before…I am always checking out their

site…but haven’t linked anything up in quite some time!

They have asked us to use NO Designer paper on our project.

Thanks for stoppin’ in today!

Retro #64

Today’s card is for a Fabulous Sketch over at Retro Sketches #64.

As soon as I saw it, I was hoping I would have some time to play along.

I have made two additional cards this week and didn’t get either of them linked up on time…UGH!

Hate when that happens, but in the grand scheme of life is that really what matters?

I get upset with myself when I get upset about something so petty when there is tragedy surrounding us each and everyday!

Watching the news just breaks my heart!! Those children and teachers must have been so frightened!

 God Bless all of them!

So, today I will be thankful for the little things and the things that don’t get done….really don’t matter after all.

CAS…Pastels

IMG_0009

Happy Mother’s Day!!

I have for you today the next challenge over

@ CAS on Sunday.  The challenge this time is to incorporate

pastels into your creation.  I have had a very stressful week, so this

card I will confess had to come together rather quickly.  If I had had

the time or strength to make it again… I would have.  Some of the pastel

colors didn’t come out as strong as I had hoped and it’s hard to

see them in the photo.

Please won’t you join the girls and I over @

Challenge

Just click on the logo!

We would love it if you did… and here is the cool prize you will receive if you win!

JUGS #188

Long Post…stick with me!

What a crazy week we have had at the Leppek house!

Quick re-cap to explain my LACK of posts!

Last Friday, we moved my son from Tally to home for the summer

(Insert major happy face here!)

and while we were putting things in the storage shed

he cut his hand on a piece of aluminum siding…

off to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for stitches.  Then my Uncle

who was visiting from out of town broke his hip on Sunday 3 hours

after he arrived….. off to the Hospital again.  Finally, on Tuesday my dad

took a terrible fall and has road rash all over his body,

stitches on his hand, along with a fractured

collarbone…off to the Hospital again.

I wish I had time to go into more details about

how my father was 1/2 mile from home and

managed to walk all the way back after he had fallen,

while bleeding profusely…..

but that is really not why you are here….now is it?

So that sums up why I have been so QUIET lately!

Things will probably remain rather quiet

for a little while longer until my dad can

take better care of himself.

But enough of that…let’s get to the GOOD stuff!

This week Tangii from the JUGS team has a wonderful technique for us to try.

JUGS+188

Here is what I did with it!

Jugs

It appears that I used a dusty blue pencil on my card…but I promise I didn’t.  It’s WHITE!

Although, I decided to capitalize on that color and used it behind the sentiment.

Details:

Cardstock: SU

Stamps: Wild Rose Background

Ink: Color Box White

White Prisma Colored pencil

Tools: SU punch

Acc: Pink ribbon and Pop dots

I so appreciate all my followers and my visitors ….

you make my day….. and all of this worth while!

The rest of the  JUGS team has some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going,

so just pop on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created.

Then put your creativity to work and add your card/project to the

challenge post on the JUGS blog for the chance to be selected as Chic of the Week.

Hope you have a great day!

Hosting @ Just Us Girls and More…

JUGS+186

I am thrilled to be your HOSTESS this week for my first hosting job as part

of the Design team at Just Us Girls.

When I realized my first challenge was going to be a photo challenge,

I immediately thought of pink and black (my favs) and hopped on over to google images.

After just a couple of seconds, I found these two photos that I knew would be perfect!

I picked two images so that you might have a few choices.

You may either get inspirations from the color pallet and take that route,

reproduce some flowers like I have done,

or you may be intrigued by the damask pattern on the purse.

 You decide!

IMG_0014

Now the details:  I used my spectrum Noir pens and colored the BACK of my flowers

after I heat embossed them on Vellum with white embossing powder.

LOVE this look!

I first saw this technique over at Driven to Ink blog….a few years ago.

Over at the Pink Elephant that is the challenge this week… to “Lift” or “Case” a card or technique.

TPE-ChallengeBanner2

So I chose the Technique of Embossing and Coloring on Vellum!

So, I will also be linking this card to their challenge as well as

over at Addicted to CAS.

My second entry!

ATCAS - code word flower

They asked us to use flowers.

The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

I’m THRILLED to have hosted the fun with Just Us Girls, this week…

PLEASE  WON’T  YOU JOIN THE GIRLS AND I !!

Can’t wait to see what you link up!

Nancy

Chase the clouds away….

Hello Crafty Friends,

It’s my turn to post a project for April’s Stamp Challenge over at the

Crafty Card Gallery and this is what I have in store!

For this challenge we we’re asked to either use a stamp set that’s been sitting on our desk a while,

something you bought and forgot about, or your most recent purchase.

Well,  My card today has a mixture of all 3.

IMG_0017

First, The Umbrella stamp I decided I have had for at least 8 years.

The Washi tape under the green paper is something that was sitting on my desk and

I had yet to put it away.

Finally, The sentiment on this card is new!  It is from Close To My Heart…..and I love it.

The stamp set is called Card Chatter- Sympathy Occasions… and I highly recommend it.

The inside of the card reads…..”and chase the clouds away!”

Made the clouds myself and the scallop is a Die cut from MFT.

The green umbrella was paper pieced.

  Have a great day!

ATCAS - code word flower

Hello Friends,

Hope you had a great Monday!

Today’s card didn’t take long to whip up and it’s for this week’s

Dynamic Duos Black and Gray challenge along with the

Code-Word Flower over at Addicted to CAS.

I am not sure you can tell in the photo, but the DP has a gray pattern mixed with creme.

Creme, white, or kraft are the approved colors you may add to the

Dynamic Duos color pairs for the week.

The Cardstock is Stampin up.

The DP is from DCWV.

The stamp is from a stamp store in St. Augustine,

that I have had for years!

The sentiment is CTMH.

Add a ribbon and Gems and you are all set!

So glad you stopped by for a bit!

Make sure you stop by both the Dynamic Duos and Addicted to CAS if

you are looking for great challenges!

Happy Craftin,

Nancy

Great ColourQ Combination

Two posts in one day is a little unusual for me,

but I didn’t want to miss out on the deadline

for this great color combination over at

the ColourQ.  Just this week I got the exact color ink pads

from Stampin up and couldn’t wait to break open the plastic and get inky!

Color Q

This tulip stamp is one of my very first stamps I ever purchased when I began this great hobby many years ago!

I thought the small little bow added a nice touch!

Such a quick card to put together!

Here is the great color combo I was telling you about!

Sorry…for the lack of post!

Hello Friends,

Just wanted you to know that I had a death in the family and that is why I haven’t posted in over a week!

I took a quick trip to Boston and just got back late Monday night!

The service for my sister in law was wonderful and although funerals are always tough,

I am so very glad Diane is not suffering anymore.

The trip was very quick and exhausting and I ended up very ill on my return,

but it was wonderful being with family and making new friends.

I have two cards I would like to post that I made recently and haven’t had a chance to show you.

I posted them over at Stamp TV earlier this month for a couple of their challenges.

The first one is a skinny card challenge…it measures 2 1/2 x 5.

I will be making more of these…so fun!

IMG_0202

The second one is a paper piecing card.

Not sure if the photo shows,

but I paper pieced the main flower and raised it up with pop dots.

IMG_0191

If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to ask.

I am going to make this quick so I can head to bed!
