Seeing Dots…

IMG_00010

Today I was feeling a tad better…so I thought I would get up from

the couch and my heating pad and try to make a quick card.

I was looking through my top challenge sites and decided

that Addicted to CAS was the one for me today.

ATCAS - code word circleMy card started very clean and simple and then…

I stamped the sentiment crooked, I smudged my ink and got it all

over my card , and soon realized I should have stayed on the couch. LOL

So what started out CAS got a little more layered.

So ladies over at Addicted to CAS…If this doesn’t quite qualify as Clean and Simple

I SOOO Understand!!!

Not sure if you can tell by my photo, but I used my Scor-pal again

and separated the card in different quadrants.

If you haven’t checked out Addicted to CAS…go have a look!

I have linked up their image for you!

Card Details:

Cardstock: SU and ???? (scrap)

Sentiment: Close to My Heart

Tools: Punches and Scorpal

Thanks for stoppin’ by…I love when you do!

Birds of a feather…

Hello Crafting friends,

I am hosting today over at Crafty Card gallery.

The challenge was to use an item you would find in or around your home

and it must be featured on your card.

It could be a stamp of a tree a cutout of a window or door, a key, etc….

 I chose a bird!

We are so very fortunate to have a pond directly across the street from our home

and have many a species of birds who grace us with their presence!

Not to leave out the hundreds of ducks that leave a little bit of themselves behind as well

as a reminder that they were there…. We will save them for another card….lol

Here is what I came up with!

IMG_0003

I thought it might be fun to add some texture to my bird by running him through a SU embossing folder.

Also, his wing is made from a butterfly punch cut in half.

I am also linking this card up to a couple of challenges:

A Different Sketch…

Second Post for the day so…..

If you are looking for CAS on Sunday…Please Scroll Down

As soon as I laid eyes on this sketch over at CAS(E) this week, I knew I wanted to play along.

The first thing that came to mind is this great tree stamp that I have

that I haven’t used in quite a while from Verve.

Then I went looking for a color challenge, and I didn’t have to go far.

I went right to my reliable Dynamic Duos, and then the creativity began.

JUGS Color Challenge and a Birthday Shout Out!

Jugs Challenge and A Special Happy Birthday

Good Day Crafty Friends!

This week’s Color Challenge over at JUGS is

hosted by the talented Marisa.

She has picked out a great color palette for us to work with!

JUGS185

It seems like when Spring rolls around I am always in need of Baby Shower gifts.

Most of the time I like to give my expectant mothers a gift card,

so that they may purchase what they want and

the dad can be a part of picking out something for his new baby as well.

Don’t you think those poor dads get left out sometimes?

So that is how this Gift-card holder came to be.

IMG_0017

It is on it’s way to Michigan for my nephew’s wife’s baby shower!

I left out the Walmart Gift-card itself for the photo because it

was blue and didn’t match my card.

I couldn’t believe they had no pink gift cards!

Here is a peek at the inside of the card.

IMG_0012

My Birthday Shout Out goes to a fellow JUGS  Design Team member Lisa!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!!

Hope it’s one of the best one’s ever!!!

Here is a card I made in honor of your birthday!

IMG_0022

This card really needs no explanation….the sentiment is from Close to My Heart and the balloons were

made using either a circle punch or my Creative Memories circle cutter… adhered with some pop dots!

They look like they are floating…don’t they?

So…..

The rest of the JUGS team has some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going,

so just hop on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created.

Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post on the

JUGS blog for the chance to be selected as Chic of the Week.

See you there!

Round and Round

Challenge

It’s time for our next CAS on Sunday Challenge!  Woohoo!

We are on to Challenge # 6 already…It’s hard to believe it!

When I first saw this challenge I thought we were going to have to

make a round card….which is not my forte!

Then I read the details and was thrilled to see that all you

have to do is use circles on your card or project.

Whew! I can do that!!!

I have two photos for you!

The first one is the Clean and Simple version for CAS on Sunday,

and then I decided to make another card and

step it up a notch and add some embellishments.

I don’t think there is a need for card details..

except the sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

also….I had to make do with other brown paper….I ran out! :(

I sure hope you are able to join us @ CAS on Sunday and

I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

This week our challenge is being sponsored by

which is part of  Stampin Up !

The prize is Some yummy Baker’s Twine

along with a pack of Rhinestones!!

Birthday Wishes

It is a gorgeous day here in sunny Florida!

Hope you have enjoyed your weekend whether

you had sunshine or not!

I just got home from a wonderful breakfast on the water followed

by some much needed exercise walking trails in a nature park.

Something about being outdoors, just wipes me out!

Last night I finished this card before Hubby and I watched

Michigan play in the Final Four….man…what a game!

Go Blue!

When I sat down to design this card I had two challenges in mind.

The first is for this week’s Color Throwdown (what a gorgeous color palette)

and the next one is a new Sketch Challenge site I stumbled upon

called Seize the Birthday! It’s fabulous!!! I am not sure how new it is…but it’s new to me!

Here is what I came up with!

IMG_2081Not crazy about how the stickles came out on the photo, but trust me it looks better in person!

I have a new camera too…so I am experimenting with getting better photos!  Wish me luck!

Pink and Kraft

Hello Friends,

Today’s card is for the Dynamic Duos #46 color challenge along with others.

I so love to play along with the Dynamic Duos and this week was no exception.

This week you get to choose the complimentary color to add  to Primrose Petals or (deep pink).

So I chose Kraft as my second color and white as my neutral.

I am also Linking it up to two other wonderful blogs….one is called Addicted to CAS,

and the other one is called Addicted to Stamps and More where I have become a regular!

I try not to miss out on either one of their great challenges.

One has asked us to make a Spring card and the other asked for

a CAS card.  So I think I have it covered on all three sites!

The more I do Clean and Simple the more I enjoy it!

This card came together quickly after work today!
