A little bit more LOVE…

I know Valentine’s Day has come and gone

and you thought you had seen the last of the HEARTS all

over the place, well…..you almost have! I saved one of my special creations

for this week on purpose so that I may share it here and @ the Crafty Card Gallery.

I can not take credit for the idea behind this Valentine Shadow box.

That goes to Debbie Moczek my Fabulous Stampin Up Consultant.

The only thing I can take credit for is the work and the arrangement of the squares.

Although, I did make a few of my squares different then the original design.

Sorry for the glare on the photo!

Shadow box

This was sooooo much fun to put together and she made it so easy too!

I gave it to my dear hubby for Valentine’s Day and

then asked him if I could please hang it up in my studio!  LOL

 I know…what an Indian giver……

but, I thought it would look really nice in there!

Tee Hee!

Crazy 4 Hearts

Crazy 4 hearts… that’s me lately!

It’s time for another Valentine card!

Today’s card is very, very simple!

DSCN5048

I just used 3 hearts of different sizes!

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy as my 4th graders would say!

Two of them were cut out with my cricut and the small one is a punch I have had for 20 years!

Ran the medium size through my cuttlebug for some texture, add some pop dots, ribbon and that’s it!

The I love you stamp is from Michaels.

Thanks for stopping in,

I am headed back to the couch…home with a fever and Tonsillitis! :(

Here are the 2 challenges I am linking this to!

Crazy 4 Challenges- Hearts, but no red or pink

and

Addicted to Stamps- Bingo challenge …I used Hearts, stamp, love

See you soon

Nancy

Just Add Hearts

More Hearts?  Yes I am afraid so!  You can never get to much LOVE!

Today’s card is going to look very similar to one I posted earlier in the week.

My co-worker liked her card so much that she asked me to make another

one very similar so that she may frame it.  I was happy to oblige and I thought that was such a compliment!

So if you are thinking you have seen this layout before, well yes you have.

This one is much better, don’t you think?

DSCN5070

Can’t decide if I like the soft edges on my card photo or if I should leave it the way I usually do it.

Your thoughts?

I am linking it up with two challenges.

Just add Ink- “Just Add Hearts.”

and

The Pink Elephant- “Love is in the Air.”

More Hearts!

Are you a little tired of all the Valentine cards yet?

We have one more week before the Big V- Day!

I will try to post something besides Valentines this weekend.

Today’s card is for Our Creative Corner sketch challenge,

and they titled their challenge, ” Make Mine Mushy”. LOL

I am also linking this card up with the Pink Elephant’s Inspiration Photo challenge.

Even though I didn’t use reds and pinks like the photo,

my thoughts were to mimic the 6 panels like the 6 photos.

My card didn’t photograph as well as I would have liked and it’s a lot

prettier than it appears.  However, I already sold it, so…. not much I can do about that now! :)

CAS on Sunday’s First Challenge

I have been waiting like forever to make this post (well maybe not forever …but at least 10 days)!

The theme for our first challenge over at CAS on Sunday is “Be Mine Valentine.”

I had so much fun putting today’s CAS card together, although it took a couple takes to get the red background just right!

I wasn’t patient enough and kept smearing it with my fingers before the ink had a chance to dry. :/

I made the background using a old stamp set from Stampin Up called Branching Out.

The stamp was used primarily in this set to make the leaves of the trees in any color you chose.

I decided to use it as a background splat! LOL

I took a photo of the stamp so you had an idea of what on earth I was talking about.

Well, that’s it for me today! I will be back tomorrow with another card!

Now, make sure you head on over to CAS on Sunday and see what my fellow

DT members have to offer.  And please join our first challenge because there is a prize involved…

and we all love to win prizes…don’t we?

This week our prize is being sponsored by Team Utopia (Stampin’ Up demoteam).

Love is such a big word…

Hello Friends,

Happy Hump Day!  I love Wednesdays!!  Not sure why, but they are my favorite day of the week….besides the obvious Fridays!

Today’s card is for 3 different challenges…ones I try to play with on a weekly basis.

Started off with a great sketch from The Paper Players, followed by a color challenge over at the Dynamic Duos,

and last but not least a Heart challenge over at The Pink Elephant.

This is what I came up with!

I thought it was about time to make a more Masculine Valentine’s Day card with other colors besides pink and  red!

Long and Short

Hello fellow stampers or scrappers, ( this post is rather long but worth reading)

Over at the Casual Fridays they asked us to Create a CAS card that has one long side and one short side. For example a 3 x 6, 4 x 8, etc. Not a standard A2 card.  I have been wanting to do this size for a while now!  My card actually measures out to be a 2 3/4 x 5 1/2…but I think it will do!  I am also going to head on over to the Friday Mashup and enter this in their challenge to incorporate brads on your card!  The stamps I used are from Verve…Love them!

I have a wonderful person in this fabulous world of card making that I absolutely am blown away by…not only is she the most talented designer I have ever seen, she is a genuine beautiful person inside and out.   Although, I have never met her or even spoken to her outside this wonderful venue of the internet….I can honestly say that I am certain that I am correct in this statement, by the way she puts text to her thoughts and the way she speaks of her family and to her friends and admirers.  I feel very blessed to have been following her talents, troubles and triumphs for almost 3 years now.  Why am I saying all of this?  Well, it is my admiration of her spectacular work that I someday hope to grow up and be as talented as she is! (lol)  She is my inspiration behind my card for today and I have posted hers along with mine.  Mind you, this is a very basic card and the word basic should not be in the same sentence with Laurie Schmidlin….. but, I had to start with a simple card and work my way up!  Please if you have never stumbled upon her blog before, go and have a look, you will be as blown away as I am.  She also is on the Design Team over at Stamp TV and you can check her out there as well!

Black and White with….

Happy Three Day Weekend….. WooHooooooo!

If you are not fortunate enough to have a three day weekend like me…well then my deepest apologies for my greeting. :/

Anyways, unto the real reason why you payed me a visit.  The card I have for you today….. I can not take credit for this brilliant idea.  I saw this a ways back on Pinterest and this is my interpretation of it. This card was given to a co-worker at my school.  After I made this card…I also made a replica of it on a giant piece of Construction paper and we hung it up at the surprise shower we had for her at work.  Of course I do not have a photo of it (insert sad face here).  It was even cooler than the card, because I couldn’t run it through an embossing folder (lol) so I punched out about 30 flowers and they were glued on the dress instead.  They popped up and looked 3-dimensional.  It looked really great!  You will have to trust me on this!  I am entering this card in a challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More…this is a new blog I stumbled upon and I enjoy playing along with them. The challenge was to use Black and White with a splash of color if you want to.   Go check them out and give them a try!
