Stamp TV Challenge…

STV

Hello Friends,

Today the card I have for you is for a Mix it Up Monday Challenge over at Stamp TV.

My friend Karen is hosting this week so I wanted to give her some moral support and join here,

plus I had these really cool paper clips on my desk and have bee dying to use them.  So when

I saw her challenge to use metal of some kind it was meant to be!

I also wanted to show you where my inspiration came from to make this card!

A dear friend of mine and oh so talented stamper sent me this wonderful

tag the other day and I put it in my studio right where I could see it

and admire it!

I told her I loved it when I saw it on her blog so she sent it to me!

She is such a dear sweet person and I am so glad our paths have crossed!

Here is a link to her Blog Card Therapy....she is a Genius at Mixed Media

go and check it out and leave her some love!

Now,  Here is a link over to Stamp TV so you can join the challenge there as well.

Think Spring

IMG_00020

Today’s card was going to be for Two challenges…but I missed the deadline for the Friday Mashup by minutes!

I hate when that happens!  Oh Well,  I will however be entering this over at Stamp TV where Sean is hosting

and asked us to Think Spring!

I used Chalk, Ink and Colored Pencils to make my card!

The BOW…I promise matches the card much better in person….this has happened before with this ribbon…don’t know

quite what the deal is with it! I even took the photo outside thinking that would help.  NOT!

The sentiment and the image is both from Gina K. Designs.

If you have any questions at all….give me a holler!

Have a great day!

The stamp set is from Gina K and is called A Little Something.

I got it from a dear friend of mine!  It has become one of my all time favorites!

Let’s Get Sketchy @ Just Us Girls

JUGS sketch

Vicki is hosting this week over at Just Us Girls and she has this Great sketch for us!

Screen Shot 2014-02-10 at 7.16.54 PM

Of course after I photographed my card and already mailed it to my

sister for her Birthday…I realized I had altered the sketch a tad!

Completely by accident!  You would think I couldn’t screw it up when

I am the one the designed the graphic based on Vicki’s sketch.

But…think again!  :/

Well, I think it’s darn close enough!

I just got my long and short panels reversed. LOL

I hope you come on over and join us this week!

Also,  I need to say a quick thank you to our Guest Designer

Melissa Hubert for being with us this month!

You did great Girl!

Now,  Come on over to Just Us Girls and get Sketchy with us!

And while your there help me in welcoming our NEW Guest Designer

for the month of March….

Shabby Chic

Hello Friends,

Spent the day with 3 Talented Crafty girls yesterday and had a wonderful time!

First, we did a craft rummage sale at our local Art Store, I made a whopping 21 dollars…LOL

Next, we went to lunch at this great place by the water in Palmetto

called Riverside Drive Cafe.

Last, what is a get together without a little shopping?

We made a quick stop at Hobby Lobby!

IMG_0857

I was thrilled to finally meet one of my fellow DT members from Seize the Birthday too.

JoAnn Burnham she is as sweet as I thought she would be…NO sweeter!

A while back, JoAnn was kind enough to tell me about Sue Lelli, and after

I stocked her blog for a few weeks, I had the courage to ask her if she would

like to meet for lunch and we talked non-stop like we had known each other forever.

Sue L. has introduced me to Mixed Media and is UBER talented at it!

Susie Morris and I met online at Stamp TV a few years ago and hit it off

right away, she is one of the most generous people I have ever met and

I am so grateful that we crossed paths.

Feeling Blessed!

Anyhoo, onto my card for today!

My blog friend Donna (sure hope to meet her someday, she is to funny)

is hosting a Shabby Chic challenge over at Stamp TV

and time is running out, but I wanted to make sure I

supported her in her GD position over there!

Here is what I came up with!

stv

Forgot the matching envelope!  I didn’t have any cream envelopes

so I decided to cover the envelope with the matching DP and added

the sentiment that is also inside the card!

stv2

The Design Paper is from Colorbok and is called Wild Rose.

The sentiment is from Gina K and is called Birthday Duo.

I used my Cuttlebug to cut out my doily shape,

my flower stem and my double scallop.

Finished it off with lots of distressing and some embellishments.

Thanks for stopping’ in…I so appreciate all your kind comments and visits!

Until next time,

Nanc’

Clean and Simple….X 2

IMG_0001

Hope your weekend is going well!

Horribly cloudy and chilly here…so I took that as a sign that

I should hang out this afternoon in my studio …and that is what I did! :)

Today’s card is for 2 challenge blogs that are both looking for Clean and Simple Designs this week.

Stamp TV and Addicted to Stamps and More!

GINA K

blog badge

Although the card is definitely CAS…it still took me quite a while to do,

because of all the fussy cutting and shading with colored pencil.

Love this stamp set by Gina K Designs!

I just picked up this Recollections Valentine Paper pack from Michaels last night!

Hope you find time to be creative too…it’s good for the soul,

Nanc’

God Bless You….

Hello Friends,

Over at Stamp TV they challenged us to make a shaped card…which is something I don’t do very often

I might add, so a challenge it was!  I had my GKD Hugs and Prayers stamp set still on the table in my

studio and got this great idea when I looked at the flower stamp in the set.

So that’s when I went to work the next day and punched out this great fence from

the die cuts we have at school!  Shhhhhhhh! :)

IMG_0002

Which later turned into this!

IMG_0005

I have made a fence similar to this in the past which was vertical and enjoyed

it so much I thought I would try again.

Now that I analyze it, the flowers on the base look a little silly cause they would never

be that low to the ground….but oh well!  It’s hand made…what do you expect! LOL

I shaded the fence with colored pencil and later

turned back to my childhood days and made my grass the old fashion way

with a pair of regular scissors!  The tall grass you see in the background

is an actually Penny Black Die cut.

Here is a link to the rest of the shaped cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I so appreciate your kind words!

Take care…and make sure you find time to be creative…

it’s good for the soul!

I will be back tomorrow with a new Seize the Birthday Challenge!

Technique Time…

Hello Friends,

I had the opportunity on Sunday to play in my studio and make these two cards

for a challenge over at Stamp TV.  It was good to keep busy after saying goodbye to my son that morning

as he headed back to college.  I never get use to those good-byes!

Anyways, I have a great technique for you that your going to LOVE!

It’s called Color on Color Emboss Resist and HERE is the video you can watch by Gina K.

She makes the best videos!

1st

Unfortunately, on this photo you can’t see that I sponged pale pink around my die-cut

while in the die, you will have to trust me on that one!  I used the same technique and made

and extra hummingbird for both cards!

On the second card you can barely see the color blue beneath the white.

2nd

The reason there are 2 cards instead of one is that I accidentally grabbed the wrong

embossing powder the first time.  Gina suggested to use Clear embossing powder and

I used white by accident.  I absolutely loved the way it came out after I heat set it

and knew I wasn’t going to let it go to waste! Love good mistakes!!

Here are two additional shots that I took while I was working.

IMG_0001

I used SU- Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise and Regal Rose as my colors.

IMG_0008

This photo was before I heat set it !

The stamp set used for the entire card is also from Gina K Designs

and is retired, but one of my favorites…Hugs and Prayers.

The little leaves were made with my Cricut and ran through by Cuttlebug.

The label die and the border punch is also Stampin Up.

Any questions give me a shout out!

Come join us over at Stamp TV!

Remember to take time to be creative,

Nanc’
