Happy Birthday

IMG_0501.jpg

Hello, Hope your day is off to a good start.  It’s time again for our Anything Goes over at Seize the Birthday.  I would love for you to join us, but please remember to make it a Birthday theme.

Here are a few card details:  I got this wooden stamp recently and couldn’t wait to ink it up!  First, I inked it up with very light grey ink and then colored it in with Prisma Colored Pencils. I believe it’s only the second or third time that I have colored on black cardstock. I love the look of it, and not sure why I don’t do it more. The banner die is from MFT and the sentiment is from Verve. In hindsight, I wish I hadn’t added the various (MFT) leaves in the open spaces…but what you gonna’ do. What’s done is done.

I would love to also link this card up over at The Flower Challenge where they want us to use one of our latest stamps.

The DT and our Surprise Party Guest Julie have really got some great cards over on the blog, come on over and check them out.

Take care, Nanc’

FRIEND!

Hi,  As soon as I saw the colors over at The Color Throwdown, I was inspired to play along.  I have been wanting to use a new stencil that I got from SSS for a while now and thought it was the perfect time.  I got out my illusion spray which just so happens to be the perfect color Fuschia to match the photo. Then I decided I would divide the panels for added interest.  It was still missing something, so I added the black inlay FRIEND using my MFT letters. I finished it off with a couple of MFT flowers, sequins, and a sentiment from Whimsical Stamps.

You will be seeing this stencil again in a few days!

Thanks for stopping by , Nanc’

JOY

Happy Weekend! Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Trend Week.  The Trend that Carol chose for us is Wood. I feel like I cheated a bit, as the only thing I have on my card that is wooden is a star that I have stained with ink and decorated to look like a Christmas Cookie. I know…epic fail on my part. I do like the way this card came together though. I used a JOY die and a sentiment from MFT and the fun paper is from SU.

Please head on over to Just Us Girls, where I can assure you, the team did a little bit more than I with this challenge.  Nanc’

Love is in the Air

Hello, Hope your day is off to a good start.  It’s February, and time to get out those Love theme stamps.  The card I have for you today is for The Paper Players where they have a Love inspired theme for us to get inspired by and over at Time Out Challenges they also have a Love themed photo too. You can’t have a Valentine card without red somewhere….Right? I have had this SU set for over a month or two now and have been waiting for February to give it a try.  I can tell it will be one I will be using again and again, and I haven’t even used one of the dies that comes in the set that is a complete puzzle. Fun Fun!

Nearly all the products are SU and the DP is Bo Bunny. Isn’t it gorgeous? The large stitched rectangle is MFT.

I am so glad you stopped by! Nanc’

Love YOU!

Hello there,  Today over at Just Us Girls we have a new challenge starting and the word Ina has for us this week is LOVE!  Easy huh?  I stepped out of the box a bit and decided to do something that wasn’t red, which is the typical color we all think of when you hear that word. I also would like to welcome out guest designer…Lisa Elton, https://mypapertales.blogspot.com/.  She will be with us all month! Welcome Lisa, we are thrilled you are joining us!

Here is a bit about my card!  Flower is very dear to me and is from Verve! One of my first stamps I ever bought from Julee. The leaves are a punch from SU and then embossed for added texture. The flowers were colored using the smooshing technique and oxide inks. I think they came out great! The heart die is from MFT, the love die is from Neat and Tangled and the you is Simon Says Stamps. The background was lightly stenciled.

I am so happy you paid me a visit.  If you are creating this week…please won’t you join us! Nanc’

HUGS!

Hello, Hope you are having a great day! Today’s card is for The Card Concept. I saw this technique for the background in a video, and for the life of me thought it was by Laura Fadora, and now I can’t find it.  Anyways, if I figure it out I will edit this post, as I like to give credit where credit is due. I really had a fun time making it. The Hugs die is from Lawn Fawn, the heart die is SU, and the wonky rectangle is MFT.  I used my oxide inks and sticky notes to achieve my rainbow effect. The HUGS is on sparkly silver paper from SU.  I splattered the background with white and black paint.  The card looks much better in real life!

I am also going to link this card up over at Addicted to Stamps and More where it’s Anything Goes!

I made this card for a dear friend’s daughter that is battling cancer for the second time. I had the pleasure of meeting her last summer. She is an amazing person and so strong and courageous. I hope she felt the love when she received it.

Thanks for your visit, Nanc’

Black and White

Hello, I am so glad you stopped by! We have a new topping starting over at Seize the Birthday today!  The topping is Black and White and was selected by Barbara. I don’t know how you feel about that particular combo of colors, but to me there is always something so striking about black and white.  Great idea Barb!

My card is very simple and was made with mostly Stampin Up products and a bit of MFT.  Please come over and check out what my fabulous team and our guest Julie did this week at STB, it’s sure to inspire you!

Have a wonderful day! Nanc’

Friend…

I have another card for you today that is for Time Out Challenges, it happens to be my second entry for this challenge. Once again, it goes along with the part of the phrase about friends.  As I was cleaning up my studio, I came across an envelope of die cuts that a good friend (Barb) punched out for me and it had this cute little bird die in it. So if you want to know whose die cut it is…I haven’t the foggiest. However, I can find out if need be. Anyhoo, I decided to make a blended panel with my Oxide Inks to showcase these cute little birds and just leave them white. The grass is a from MFT and the word friend…is from Pretty Pink Posh.  Topped it with a bow and I was done.

I hope you are enjoying your day.

It’s raining here and I am enjoying it immensely!

In fact, still in my PJ’s and on my umpteenth cup of coffee. 😉 Right now its Salted Caramel….yum yum!!  Nanc’

Masculine…Thinking of You

Hello, I am hosting this week at Just Us Girls and I have a nautical theme for you for Photo Week. I never make near enough masculine cards…do you? I struggle with them so much! I sponged the background softly with Oxide inks and used colored pencil for the water! The sentiment and stamps are from SU.

We have two Guest Designers this week at Just Us Girls ( Cindy and Janet) and a fabulous array of cards! Come by and check them out! Nanc’

Birds at Twofer!

It’s coming down to the wire, but I finally have two cards ready for the Twofer Challenge. The theme this month is Birds.  However, that is one stamp I don’t have a “flock” of. Yes, I went there!  LOL Over the long weekend as I was pondering this dilemma, I remembered I had a Verve set with a bird in it that I could use. Score! Love when things fall into place.

Here are a few details…For the white card; I used some MFT floral stamps and dies, sentiment is from Darcies, and a piece of vellum to soften the center of the card. I doubled my scallop die underneath my SU stitched circle, Finally, I added a side bow, as I felt like it needed something more. For the floral card; I used a beautiful piece of DSP (that I have been saving from Kaiser), I lightly inked and paper pieced my little bird, flowers/dies are also MFT, the branch is from SU, and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I cut a hole in the DSP, cause in the pic it appears the blue piece is on top.  That fun stitched rounded corners die is from MFT.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.  I very much appreciate your visits! Nanc’
