Wish You were here

Hello, It’s Saturday and time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls. Sue is our wonderful hostess for CAS Week. I am certainly enjoying this change to our line-up at Just Us Girls as Clean and Simple is something I want more practice with.

Before I got started, I went in search for another challenge to join this week. I came across AAA Cards where they are asking for a CAS card inspired by a Movie, Book, or Song. I decided to use the song by Pink Floyd- Wish you were Here for my sentiment.

I really enjoyed putting this card together.

Card Details: A little masking with torn paper and some Oxide inks for my water and sand. The cute little crab and shells are found in the set called Best Beach Friends from MFT. The sentiment is from MFT’S Couch Potato stamp set.

You have to come over to Just Us Girls and check out my fabulous teammate’s cards along with the talented Michele Ferguson.

Take care and happy crafting! Nanc’

Things in a Garden

Hello, I am hostess this time over at Seize the Birthday and what I have chosen for our Topping is Things in a Garden. I thought it was appropriate since we are at the beginning of Spring here in the States. I have had these scraps hanging out on my desk for quite some time so this card was really quick to put together.

Card Details: MFT- Garden Shed Dies and Scalloped Dies. The rose DSP is just gorgeous but I don’t recall whose it is. The lattice is from Whimsy Stamps, and the sentiment is from Scrapbook.com.

I certainly hope you will head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out what is popping up in my teammate’s gardens…along with our two guests-Hilary and Anagha!

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

A Cozy Birthday

Hello, I hope you are doing well! I don’t know about you but when my mojo is missing and I need a quick jumpstart one of the things that I do is… pull out a few fun die sets from MFT and decorate a space. Nothing like a bit of interior decorating to spark some creativity.

Also, the Spots and or Stripes from AAA Birthday helped with my interior design.

Card Details: MFT dies- Potted Plants, Decor and More, Take a Seat and Couch Potato Sentiment set.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you are having a wonderfully creative day! Nanc’

Sweet

Hello, I am back today with the next challenge at Just Us Girls. Elizabeth is our hostess for Photo/Moodboard Week. She has picked a wonderful array of photos that are sure to inspire. They certainly inspired me. I was immediately drawn to the lemons in the photo and knew I had just the paper and supplies to pull it all together.

Card Details: I made my own ice cubes out of Vellum, Nuvo drops, and a bit of glitter. The large Stamp set is from MFT the word Sweet is from Jilly Bean Soup, I do belive. I heat-embossed the lemons in white on yellow paper. The glass and lemon dies are from Tim Holtz/Sizzix. I used a Hero Arts Postage Die. The lemon paper in the background is packaging left over from some Lemony cocktails I purchased eons ago. I saved it for just this very reason. I have some dimensionals for depth.

Now head on over to Just Us Girls and check out how the team and our guest-Michele were inspired and then we hope you will play along! Nanc’

Here’s to Fun in the Sun

Hello, I hope your week is treating you well. It’s the middle of the month so it’s time for our next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Marcia is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen Blue and Turquoise for us today. I have been itching to get out some of my favorite MFT sets and I was in the need of a House warming card, so that is what I have for you today. My Brother and Sister in Law bought a home here in Florida and are officially going to be snowbirds, and this card is for them.

Card Details: MFT-Beach Bungalow, MFT-Shady Palm, MFT-Life’s a Beach Sentiment. Oxide inks for my scene and a bit of Copics and Prisma Colored Pencils. I used a bit of white paint splatter as well.

Now, I certainly hope you will head on over to Color Hues and check out the cards by our fabulous team and join us. Don’t get hung up on finding the perfect Turquoise, as it’s pretty subjective-just do the best you can.

Speaking of Color Hues-DT…This past Tuesday my friend Carol and I got to meet up with CH-DT Member Karen Walker as she was vacationing in my neck of the woods. I love meeting up with teammates it’s one of the many things about this hobby that I love so much! We had a wonderful lunch and great conversation! So happy you escaped the cold and came to Florida, Karen!

Take care and make sure you find time to be creative as it’s good for the soul, Nanc’

Hitched

Hello, I needed to take a bit of a crafty break as my mojo was missing, so I decided instead of wasting my free time I would organize all my Spellbinders dies along with all the new supplies I have won and or purchased over the last year or so. The pile was getting so out of hand. It was quite the job and it always feels good once it is done. I wish I could say that every stamp set/or die set that I own is repackaged and labeled but I can’t. I would say I am about 85% done, and that isn’t too bad. Maybe this summer I will tackle the rest. We shall see!

Onto the card…I needed some wedding cards for the store so that is where I began. I had yet to open my new-to-me Spellbinders Sunday Drive set along with the Hitched Die set, which happens to be on sale right now, and I knew they would make a fun card. I find putting things with many pieces together can be very time-consuming but so relaxing at the same time. Do you?

I have all the products linked for you below!

Card Details: with Affiliate Inks

Sunday Drive

Hitched

Spellbinders 6

Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue

White Foam Squares-Mix

Mirrored Silver Cardstock

I was going to leave the background completely white but decided at the last minute to make a road with my Hearts Honey Bee Stamps stencil. After I was done sponging, I got the idea to make the road more defined with thin white strips of paper and I think it really helped. I used plenty of dimensionals and a bit of sequins to finish it off. I think the mirrored paper really brings this card to the next level and the cans behind the car might be my favorite part.

I am linking up with Darnell over at NBUS!

Thanks for coming by! I hope you have a great day and find some time to get crafty too! Nanc’

Bundle of Love

Hello, and I hope you are having a good day. Today I am playing along with my friends over at The Paper Players. You know I love Color Challenges and LeAnne had a combo that certainly spoke to me. I did alter one of the colors to suit my design a bit. Instead of green apple, I used more of a seafoam green and I hope it’s okay. The green was just too bold with the rest of the tones I was using.

Card Details: I have been wanting to get out this adorable older set from MFT and make some baby cards and today I finally had the chance. The sweet sentiment is an oldie from Verve.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a chance this week to be creative. Nanc’

Sending Birthday Wishes

Hello, I am back today with a card for the latest Topping at Seize the Birthday. Linda is our fabulous hostess and she has asked us to make a card for a child. I was asked by a neighbor of mine to make a card for her 12-year-old grand-daughter who loves to bake. I thought my MFT cupcake dies would do the trick.

Card Details: MFT- Cupcake Dies and Watercolor Wash Stencil. The Heart stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps. The greeting is foiled and from Spellbinders-Mini Everyday Sentiments. I used a bit of Copics to color and mirrored paper for my cupcake liners. The tiny hearts are a punch and a die that I keep on my desk 24/7.

I hope you come by Seize the Birthday and check out the cards by the DT and our Two Surprise Party guests! We have Hilary Wright joining us for the next two months and Deborah Wheeler is our one-time guest, as she was the winner of our last challenge. Welcome Ladies!

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’
