Clean and Simple 196

I have a quick post tonight for the Clean and Simple Sketch #196.  This is the first time I had squeezed this embossing folder!  LOL  I still do struggle with CAS, but it’s growing on me. 🙂  They have great sketches and this one is no exception!  I was amazed at the variety of samples there are over there.  Go and check it out!

Have a great Friday my friends,

If nothing ever changed…

Happy Tuesday!  Today’s card is for 2 challenges.  A sketch challenge at one of my favorite blogs ispy sketches, and this sketch was So Much FUN!!!  Now the second one is for a great site I visit often called FYI, and it stands for For Your Inspiration.  They give you a photograph to inspire your creativity!  The butterfly and sentiment  is called Take flight and can be found at Stamp TV.  I realize that Butterflies wouldn’t necessarily be flying about in a wintery scene, but the photo really did get my mojo going!  Honestly!!! 🙂

Hope you have a great middle of the week,

Tickled Pink

Hi Crafty peeps,  The rain has finally stopped and now we are just dealing with the aftermath…well not really WE, but hubby. 🙂 I clean the inside he cleans up the outside, that was the deal we made 20 years ago.  LOL  I don’t enjoy yard work!  Now Tropical storm Debby is giving my son it’s wrath up at FSU.  Thank goodness he’s on the 4th floor….I guess parts of the campus are not doing so well.  Anyhoos….the real reson you stopped by today was not to talk about the weather or yard work now was it?  Today’s card is on it’s way to some dear friends of ours that lost their daughter last year due to a brain aneurysm, and what would have been her 19th birthday is this week.  Life sure can be hard….can’t it!  Anyways, I hope they like it!  This card was made for two challenges the first is for the Tickled pink color challenge over at Stamp TV.  The Sentiment can also be found over at Stamp TV.  I think adding the twine to the flowers really sets it off!   And secondly, it follows the color challenge over at CR84FN to use Pink, Tan and White!  Great combo!!!!

Thanks for Looking!

Hope your having a wonderful week and take a minute to hug your children and tell them you love them!

Easel Card

Hello Stampers,  I tend to stay in my comfort zone when it comes to making cards, but luckily when the challenge over at Stamp TV to make an Easel card was posted, I didn’t run. LOL  It is really not difficult at all and I wish I had tried to do this years ago!  Better late than never so they say!  The DP is one of my favorites that I was always afraid to use cause I like it so much.  Do you do that?  I also wanted to tie in some more black so I added a few stamped sunflower images.  That stamp is from Gina K designs at Stamp TV.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up and I use it all the time!

If you want the dimensions and instructions to make an easel card you can click here!  You can also You Tube it!

This card also fits the color challenge at the Play Date Cafe that I used in yesterday’s post as well.

Thanks for stopping by, I just love when you do!

Rainy Day time to Play

So far we have gotten over 7 inches of rain here in Sunny Florida.  OK enough already!  This girl likes playing in her studio and all, but would really like to mix it up a bit and add some beach time in there.  Well, hopefully this Tropical Storm Debby will make up her mind and move on.  Okay, so now onto what I have been up to today!  Every time one of my siblings turns 50 I make them a scrapbook album of their life from birth to 18….well my brother turns 50 this year in December so it’s time to get this major project underway.  When I did both of my sister’s albums I started in January and February so needless to say I am behind.  That would not be a problem if I was a fast scrapbooker, which I am not!  Also, have found that since I started making cards I am not very good at it either.  To think I started scrapbooking over 15 years ago and now I am afraid to make a page. Geez!!!  Well here is the started page of his album and I will probably go bak later and enhance it somehow because it’s kinda of plain.  This album will prove more difficult than my sisters….when all else failed on theirs, I could just add flowers.  Don’t think that would fly with the bro!

This page was inspired from a sketch challenge over at Unscripted Sketches.  The sky is the limit over at US, so why don’t you join me?

It’s also the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.  They always have great colors to motivate you!

Love Blue and Black together…don’t you?

The photo isn’t the best…I am use to taking my photos outside and well that is not an option today!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Family Time

Below is a photo of the canvas my Hubby painted for Tyler’s room.  Isn’t it awesome!!!

On this gloomy and rainy Saturday I can’t stop thinking about my son and how much I miss having him around.  The 6 weeks he was home was soooooo fabulous, but last week my DH and I took him back to college and helped him get settled for his second year at FSU.  He had to report very early as he had to begin training as an RA.  Moving in was such a enjoyable time even though Tyler can be a slave driver.  LOL  He is a lot like me in that regard, as he had an agenda and a time frame that he wanted to adhere to and we did adhere to it!  LOL We had the best time laughing and just being together. His room looks fabulous!!!  We are the luckiest parents in the entire world!  He has such a positive attitude, kind heart, great sense of humor and soooooo smart!  He is so driven to succeed and succeed he will, we are certain of it!   The mom in me just worries cause he doesn’t know when to much is to much….and I am so afraid he will work himself to death.

Sorry this is not stamping and scrappin related, but sometimes a mom just has to brag!

Have a great day my friends and hopefully my next post will be something creative!

Yellow and Gray

Yellow and gray is not a combination I have ever worked with before that I can recall, but it does work rather well together!  However, in my photo the colors came out rather darker than they actually are, The paper isn’t as orange as it looks…lol!!  This was made for the color challenge over at CR84FN color challenge ,  And it’s also for the Sketch challenge for a new site I found again ( insert grin) called Unscripted Sketches.  However, I did flip the sketch around!  It’s a must to check out!

So if you are looking for either a sketch or a color combo that you haven’t tried yet, why not give them Both a GO!!!

Enjoy your day,

Dynamic Duos

Isn’t that the coolest title?  Well, Dynamic Duos is this blog I stumbled upon a few days ago…and I am so very glad I did!  Here are the rules:  Each week they will have two colours for you to use to create a card, scrapbook page, craft or digital project.  Only the two colours, otherwise known as The Dynamic Duo, may be used for your project.  Neutrals such as black, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome.  Doesn’t that sound sooooooooo doable??  So here is my first submission for this new challenge blog!  This card was so easy to put together.  First, I stamped the 2 flower images on some vellum using my white color box ink….the hardest part is they took forever to dry, I ended up putting them outside in the sun to dry.  The only thing I am a tad disappointed in was the Happy Birthday sentiment didn’t stamp well, but you can’t have it all! 🙂

Have a fabulous day,

Lots of Stamping time…

It is so nice to have the chance to spend lots of time in my studio now that school is out!  Of course, that is after I have spent the morning soaking up some rays at the beach.  I know it’s a tough life, but someone has to do it! 🙂  Okay, on to the real reason you are here.

Here is my example for the ispy19 sketch for this week!

I also made it for a challenge over at Stamp TV to add bling to your card!

If you have some time please join me on both challenges….you will be glad you did!

Thinking of You….

Well, I am now on summer break from school and I managed to get all my chores done yesterday so that today while the men were out golfing I could spend a few hours in my studio.  It was nice to be creative again!  It didn’t take me to long to get my mojo going when I came across this great sketch over at Freshly Made #38.  I find myself taking part in their challenges quite often…I like them a lot!!!  I love the way these colors came together…how can you go wrong with Kraft…right? LOL  I made the background with two stamps from Stamp TV, a flower and a dot that I received as a gift and ,the Sentiment is also from a Stamp TV set called Inspiration Mosaic.  I have been using my cuttlebug so much lately and can’t seem to stop using the dots folder…I’m addicted!

I think my photo actually doesn’t give this card justice.  It looks better in person!

Thanks for making my day with your visits,
