Tag Your It!

When the every so funny and talented Elise over at the JUGS team

told me this week we were going to be making TAGS.

JUGS195

I will admit the first thing that came to mind was….”Well it was a matter

of time before I crashed and burned on my new Design Team and

this week it’s going to be it!  It was bound to happen soon enough”  LOL.

IMG_0012

Well to my surprise, I had a Blast making these tags for you all!

I will admit, if I had a do over button, one of these would be totally done over,

(Far Right)

but heh…1 out of 4 ain’t bad!  Right?

It’s kinda funny, the first one I made is the one I didn’t like and then

I guess the mojo just started flowing!

Thanks so much Elise for Challenging me

this week, and getting me out of my comfort zone!!!

I sure hope your up to the challenge and JOIN US!!  YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

So head on over to the JUGS team blogs

and see how much talent we have going on to inspire you!

It’s truly amazing!!!

JUGS Blog

Details are going to be kinda tough for these.
I didn’t stamp a thing on them….is that a sin or what!!
I did a lot of piecing with paper.  I got this great paper pack
at a local discount store yesterday and that is what I
ending up using. It’s by Colorbok.  It cost 2.99…what a steal.
In the front it has two sheets of die cuts, stickers and letters
and the rest is some really cool vintage feel paper.
I did use my cuttlebug and Cricut quite a bit.
If you have any questions at all Please give me a shout out!
I almost forgot…..
Tag your it!!

Crayon resist…

IMG_0001

How come when we do a technique that we really love

then our brain (well my brain) turns to mush and we forget all about it!

Well, that is how I feel about Crayon Resist.  Now, name one person in

America with kids that doesn’t have access to a white crayon.LOL

If you have one you MUST try this or try it again! If you don’t have one…

Run and get one right away!!!

What is so cool about this technique is it never comes out the same way twice.

Here are a few links to tutorials if you are a newbie to this!

My favorite:

http://stamptv.ning.com/video/crayon-resist-1

Another good one!

You can even color the image first!

I didn’t think of that!

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/crayon_resist/

I am linking this card up to three different challenges today:

First is the great sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch…

cts33

I hope they don’t mine that my panel is longer than it’s suppose to be. ?

Next, is CASology

the Cue word this time is FREE…isn’t that cool they don’t mean

Free to make what you want, but what your interpretation of FREE means to you.

Butterflies are Free to go where they please…that is for sure…plus the crayon resist technique is free as well…

because you are free to put on as much ink and or crayon as you wish.

Week 50 - Free

And last but not least…..

Addicted to Stamps and More…who does so happen have a “Free”

Anything Goes challenge this time.

One Layer Wonder

CAS 11

Today over at CAS on Sunday we have a great challenge for you that your going to love!

Challenge

 ‘One Layer Wonder’

Your card must have only one layer, nothing else to add height or interest,

or to cover up mistakes, which is what I usual have to do.

I must say that this was a little bit challenging for me as well.

I had to really stop myself from adding bling or a ribbon to this card.

So if you except this challenge and join me…good luck refraining! LOL

To achieve this effect of my card, I did a lot of masking.

I have linked up this technique for you, if you don’t know what that means.

I forgot to mention this is the wonderful prize you can win this time

from our Sponsor the Alley Way Stamps!

It’ a stitch…don’t ya think?

Naamloos

Now, head on over to the Challenge site and see what else the

fabulous DT did to spark your interest!

I have everything linked up for you!

Have a great Sunday!

A Birthday Fish

Second Post-Please scroll down if you are looking for Just Us Girls Photo Challenge

Over at CASology this week the cue word was Fish. So I thought Okay let me give this a go.

I only have one fish stamp, and let me tell you it took a while to locate the little bugger.

I am not sure if I have ever made a card with a fish on it before…but if I have I don’t recall.

I am also linking this card up to ‘ABC ‘ Challenge- Summer Theme, and I

may be stretching it a little with the added waves, but I based it off of this

great sketch over at Freshly Made and turned it on it’s side!  I hope it’s okay! :/

Photo Inspiration at JUGS!

Good Day….everyone!

Today my friend and fellow DT member Vicki over at Just Us Girls

has a wonderful Photo Inspiration for us to help kick our Mojo into gear.

Well, let me tell you it worked!

Isn’t it full of inspiration!!!

jugs+194

IMG_0003

Here is a close-up of my cute buttons!

IMG_0009

I took my inspiration obviously from the color palette, my victorian black paper

down my card was to mimic the black plate on the bottom that doesn’t

have a perfect round edge, the lace because it’s such a fancy place setting,

and last the flowers- I thought they looked quite elegant with the button centers,

just like the big, bold center of a sunflower.

Also, not sure if you realized, but those yellow dots I have grouped throughout the card…

are the center of my buttons….waste not want not! LOL

They fell onto the card and I thought…Hey that looks cool!

Card Details:

Cardstock: SU and scraps of CM

Stamps: Hobby Lobby and SU- Sentiment

Tools: Cuttebug,Fiskars- Victorian blade

MFT- scalloped die and button die,

SU punches, and a heat gun

Acc: twine, pop dots, and lace, black embossing powder

I so appreciate you stoppin’ by and

Please won’t you join the DT and myself at Just Us Girls this week???

We would love if you did!

Brick Wall Technique

Happy Day Friends,

Stick with me… lots of photos with this post and

some added links to get you hooked up to try it yourself!

I am really excited to share with you today a technique that I have

never tried before.  I am determined to take more liberties to get out

of my comfort zone when it comes to being creative and this technique

I found over at the Friday Mashup was perfect to get me started.

It also gave me a great excuse to color with my Spectrum Noir pens

and use a much neglected stamp that I purchased over a year ago that

I had never used and was always petrified to ink up!

I paired this great technique up with the Sketch over at Seize the Birthday.

A masterpiece always starts off with a great sketch…..right? wink wink

Are you intrigued?  Here is a link to the Brick Wall Technique!

Just a side note…I did my entire card before I looked at the Tutorial!

Yeah…it’s true! LOL

I can definitely see some things that would have made this a tad easier.

I loved every minute of it and if I don’t stop rambling…

I will not get it linked up in time…2 hours and counting!!!

Here are a few card details, but if you have any questions or some pointers…

give me a holler!

Thanks for listening,

Nanc’

So Very Blessed…

This post title is so very spot on today and everyday for that matter!!

I am truly Blessed with the wonderful son god has given me!!  Having

him home this summer and being able to share the joys and

accomplishments of his day at work is something I look forward to

each and every night around the dinner table.

Not to mention, he helps me prepare dinner and is really getting good at

firing up that grill and making some tasty meals.

Ty, I couldn’t be more proud of you, your work ethic, and the

man you are becoming!!

But that is not why you stopped in now is it?

Sorry, but us moms gotta brag once in a while! (wink wink)

Let’s hop on over to today’s card that all started with the sketch over at

CAS(E) this Sketch. It intrigued me the second I layed eyes on it.

You should see what some of the designers and participants have

done with it….really inspirational stuff!

So if your MOJO needs a tune up…..go have a peek…it’s bound to help!

I have linked it up for you twice!

CASE

cts32

I am not sure this card is fabulous…but it’s the first time I have ever stamped

the entire background of a card before.  I have seen it done so many times, but

it is not as easy as it looks.  I have seen it with random colors throughout,

and the other day on Pinterest I saw it done by lumping the like colors together.

I think the stamp selection is key to this endeavor and I vow to you and

well you….lol….I will not let this card defeat me and will try this again very soon!

Details:

The stamps are random of this and that and all the ink is from SU.

Added some ribbon, the sentiment, and a strip of paper

cut with my Fiskars Victorian blade to finish it off!

Have a wonderful hump day!

Fusion and some Bling…

Greetings…Stamping Friends,

Today’s post is for 2 challenges….the first is the great sketch challenge over at Fusion.

I opted to do the sketch instead of the photo this time!

If you have never played along …you need to!!  So fun!

Fusion 1

fusion11

The bling goes along with the challenge over at The Paper Players.

pp150

Here are some details of how this card came together….very quickly I might add!

First, I took a piece of SU white cardstock and stamped my script with versamark.

Then, I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Next, I sponged it with Wisteria Wonder SU ink.  I tried to do light to dark, but got a little carried away. 🙂

Finally, I stamped the flower images on each panel in the same ink.

The floral stamp I used I just picked up from Hobby Lobby this weekend.

The wavy wheat  ( as it is called) I have had for quite sometime.

Added some bling and the sentiment from Close To My Heart.

I have linked up both blogs for you either by the words or just click right on the image!

Have a marvelous day…so glad you dropped by!
