Scraps….

Over at ABC Challenges they have asked us to Use Up Our Scraps!

I am the QUEEN of Scraps!

I save everything down to a punched out flower…that I can simply

punch out again at any given moment.  Why do I do this?….I am not sure!

My scrap paper is held in a Large Accordian

file folder by color, that I got from Creative Memories back when I was a consultant.

They unfortunately don’t carry it any longer.  😦

Why is it that the good products always go away?

It’s the best thing since slice bread IMO!

That red gingham paper and the wavy brown piece are probably 10 years old at least

and my coffee cup scraps are close to that as well!

This card was my demo with my some friends over the weekend

 at a get together and they loved it!

Papercraft Star Challenge

Happy Sunday,

I have a brand “New to Me”  Challenge site that I came across as I was

surfing the blogosphere the other day.

 It is called Papercraft Star.

They are celebrating there 3rd year and a new look and have

a beautiful inspiration photo challenge that really caught my eye!

Here is my card followed by some step by step photos of the process!

The ink is a mixture of Stampin Up, Colorbox and Studio G.

It was done on Glossy Stampin Up card stock.

Here is where I made a big mistake and put my sponge in the

wrong ink pad…..I was so mad and might have said a bad word.

( I don’t recall) wink wink!

I forgot to take the photo of the one blue blob on my card…

so here is what I started to do to fix it!

So hubby suggested that I try to put some more orange over the clouds

and of course that turned them a little muddy! ( ones on the right)

Thanks anyways Honey!  He said, ” I was afraid of that.”

Never fear…I have a plan to cover them up! 🙂

I found these rub-ons in my odds and ends bin!  Love them!

The Meet Me Here was stamped the rest are rub-ons.

I thought the torn paper worked well as sand….haven’t done that in Forever!!!

Gosh I wish I had a shell of some sort to put on that twine!

And I live in Florida!  Ha Ha!

Photo Inspiration Challenge

Today we have a SWEET photo inspiration challenge for you over at

Just Us Girls that my fellow SWEET and creative teammate Lisa came up with!

She sure can pick em…can’t she!!!

This was so much fun!

JUGS

I was hesitant to use this huge strawberry stencil that my hubby had

made for me ages ago….but after much dileberation I think it

worked out just fine!  I decided my stem needed a bit of texture so

I ran it through my Cuttlebug and that did the trick!

The little seeds I made with a paper punch that I happen to have

and it worked out perfectly!

The sentiments are a mixture of 3 sets, SU, Verve and Michaels.

The DP  is from DCWV and is called SWEET!

CAS and the Dynamic Duos

Hello Friends,

As soon as I saw this color combo over at the DD along with

the butterfly dessert option…..

I knew I wanted to find some time to play along.

I decided to go for a clean and simple approach.

I decided I liked it so much I made another.

This one has a double stamped butterfly that is such a fun effect.

Get your Kraft and Twine on…

Challenge

Good day friends,

This time over at CAS on Sunday we have asked our participants to use

Kraft and twine in your Clean and Simple project.  It was nice to dial it back down

a little bit yesterday and make something simple and my reward

when I was finished was to clean up the wreck in my studio.

It felt like I was be strangled by all my supplies and I was shrinking! LOL

I feel much better now!

best sentiments on it…and I thought what the heck.

I haven’t bought stickers in like forever!

It kind of feels as if your cheating!

Color Challenge with the Girls…

Happy Weekend Everyone,

Tangii over at Just Us Girls has a great color

challenge for us this week.  When I sat down to make my card

I was determined to use a different card base this week

other then white, cream, kraft or black…..so I did!  I am

thrilled with my results…sometimes a girl has to live a little! LOL

I can’t get enough of my cute little jar stamp….I just love it!

I used a MS punch to make all my flowers and stamped the

jar on vellum and heat embossed it with white powder.

 The leaves were made with my Cricut and ran through my Cuttlebug.

Sentiment is from Verve.

Mixed Media Take Two

YIKES I JUST REALIZED I DIDN’T PUT IN ANY CREAM!!!

(INSERT MAJOR SAD FACE!)  SORRY ABOUT THAT!

I wanted to try my hand again at Mixed Media and I stumbled upon this

great Challenge site called the Mixed Media Color Challenge and I

felt like I hit the jackpot!….I took it as a positive sign.

Not sure I had as much such success as last time and I kinda

ended up embellishing it more than I had originally planned,

but I still enjoyed creating it!

Here are a few additional snapshots to show you that I in fact

do have some mixed media under there.

Started with straight blue ink.

Applied Gesso with a Feather brush.

First mistake….I put glitter on the stamped leaf image

while the ink was wet.  (Note to self-Glitter should be LAST!)

Versamark doesn’t stick well to glitter.

Added some other images using white ColorBox ink and

Stampin UP- Turquoise  (not in photo).

The white ink wasn’t vibrant enough so let’s try

white embossing powder.

Used my fingers to ink up the edges and do some blending!

Since the middle of the card the leaves were so hard to

see, that’s when I decided to embellish it more!

A True friend….

A true friend remembers your Birthday…but not your age!

Isn’t that a great sentiment?  It’s from Close to my Heart.

I have a very clean and simple card for you today for this week’s

color challenge over at Dynamic Duos.  I love playing along with the

D&D’s…especially when pink is involved!

The lattice vertical stamp is from Stampin Up ( Summer Silhouettes)

and I heat embossed it.

 That awesome (new to me) flower diecut is from Penny Black.
