Wild Card over at JUGS…

I am hosting this week over at JUGS …check it out!

JUGS snow

I decided to make our Wild Card a One Layer Winter Theme and

since half of the country is experiencing winter it worked out perfectly!

Even in sunny Florida, it’s going to go

 down to the 50’s tonight….Brrrrrrr…..LOL

I didn’t take step by step photos, I forgot…sorry!  However,

I do have a photo of what I used to make my rolling snow hills.

IMG_0001

I just varied the placement of my strips of paper and started at the top of my card and

worked my way down.   Then when I stamped my trees and my sentiment

I rocked my stamp ( of course I did)  and that’s why I have a thick layer of glittery snow

to try and cover my mistakes.  I intended to have the glittery snow much lighter.

All in all, I think it turned out okay.

The girls and I over at JUGS also want to give a shout out and a thank you to

Nancy Penir our Guest Designer this past month.

Nancy, you did and awesome job and we sure are impressed

with your work.  You are very talented! Thanks for playing along with us!

Now,  go and check out my talented team and see

how well they handled my One Layer Winter Theme, you will be impressed!

Another Merry Monday….

MM

This is what I did last night as I was waiting patiently for my son to come home from college.

MM New Look Sketches-018

I saw the colors that Lesley chose over at the Merry Monday Challenge and I knew I wanted to play along again.

I don’t usually make many Christmas Cards, because for the past 26 years that has been my husband’s job.

A job that he loves…BTW.  He is an artist for those of you that don’t know him and before I met him he

was making his own Christmas cards, and that tradition has continued.  We give out about 175+ cards each year.

That number is not a joke…I promise!  After Christmas I will make a post of a couple of my favorites!

Anyhoo, so this many Christmas cards is unusual for me, but I am really enjoying it!

Here are a few card details:

I used Swiss Dots and Victoria Cuttlebug Embossing folders.

The snowflake punch is MS.

Not overly happy with my ribbon, but wanted to tie in the brown from my pearls.

The very cool ornament shape is an Ellison Die from my school. Love it!

I am sure your tired of my Merry Christmas sentiment form Gina K…but it works well every time!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am so Thankful for each and everyone of you, you make me smile each and every day!

Friday Mashup with Kraft and Gingham

IMG_0007

Hello Friends,

I know… don’t fall over in your chair because I am posting a card on a Tuesday, it’s weird for me too!

I am jut lucky enough to have the entire week of from school ..Yipeeeee!  So yesterday I had a chance

to create for a challenge that I have been neglecting lately.

I love The Friday Mashup and love the colors they chose this week.

Although I didn’t put any snowflakes on my card I think it’s okay,

because I did use Kraft and Gingham which were the requirements this week.

Here is the card I got my inspiration from…I like to give credit where credit is due!

Here is her blog! She does great work!

IMG_0227_2

Isn’t it cool?

My only regret is that I didn’t distress my card.  It was to late when I realized. 😦

I used the Stampin Up corner punch to make my tree!

stampinupphotocornerspunch

Most of the paper is from Creative Memories along with the zig zag piece.

The star is a gold sheet of vellum, but it doesn’t look very shiny in the photo.

The word PEACE is made with an alphabet set of stamps that I love.

I ran the base of my tree and the brown backgrounds piece through my Cuttlebug

using a stripes SU Embossing Folder.

The rest is made with various star punches.

Hope you have a fantastic day!

Mine is going to be great!  My son is coming home tonight! So stoked!

Let the baking begin!

JUGS #215 Along with a Merry Monday!

JUGS

JUGS215

MM New Look Sketches-016

Hello Friends,

My talented teammate Marisa over at Just Us Girls has picked a perfect color palette for us this week!

Then, as I was perusing my favorite blogs…I realized it would be fun and easy to combine it with the Merry Monday

inspirational photo that my new sweet friend Lesley picked out this week over at Always Playing with Paper!!

I love to go and visit her site because she is uber talented and ohhhhhh so busy!  I don’t know how she does it all!!

I have been wanting to play along with MM’s challenge for quite sometime…and finally…it happened!!!

Now, how about a few details on my card:

Cardstock and paper are SU, Bazill, and scraps.

The sentiment is from Gina K.

The ornaments were made with my Cricut.

The 2 wooden stars were stained with ink, the rest are punches including the hearts.

The background is a striped SU embossing folder…then sanded.

The wavy strip at the bottom is from Creative Memories.

Lots of distressing, many pop dots, and some candy dots.

Now please head on over to my JUGS team and see what they have done with these awesome colors, and while

your at it, there is still time to join Lesley over at Merry Monday’s where it’s always Christmas!

I have linked everything up for you!!!

Please join me!!!!

Happy creating,

Nanc’

Curtain Call and CCG…

IMG_0005

Hello stamping friends,

Today’s card was inspired by this great photo from the Curtain Call.

welcome home november 1

I am also hosting over at the Crafty Card Gallery today

crafty-card-gallery DT

and the theme for the month was

“Thankful.”

You could make a Thanksgiving project,

anything fall themed, or a Thank You card.

I chose a Thank You card because I am always in need of them.

In the photo the one leaf color brown came out really funny…it doesn’t look like

that in person.  Very strange!  Must be the camera.

I wanted various colors of leaves, but not one that looks that far off.  Oh well!

This card was a lot of fun to put together!

I just love the woodgrain background stamp…it worked out perfectly!

Thanks for your visit,

Nanc’
