Chevrons/ Sketches and Birthdays

Hi Friends…Hope you are surviving the winter blast!  My son

goes to college at FSU and they actually called school for a Snow Day yesterday!

He was so thrilled!  But by the weekend we will be bak in the high 70’s.

Anyways,  Today over at Seize the Birthday our toppings option is…

“Chevrons”

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

If your not a toppings kinda person, well…..you can just

stick with our usual “Anything Goes”Birthday!

 The choice is yours!

IMG_0004I combined our challenge with this fabulous sketch over at Viva la Verve.

Right when I saw it I knew I didn’t want to miss it!

Card Details:

The DP is some of my all time favorite!  I received it at a Stamp Expo

in a surprise gift bag and I absolutely use it ever so sparingly because I like it so much!

The stamps are both from Verve: Plain Jane/ flower and the sentiment is from Poppy Birthday.

The chevron embossing folder is also Stampin Up.

Used a punch to make my leaves and fussy cut 2 sets of flowers

to give it some dimension on pop dots.

Hope you have a fantastic day and please join us at Seize the Birthday!

We would love it if you would!

Dynamic Duos and an Umbrella!

As soon as I saw this color combo and the “Dessert”

option I knew exactly what I was going to do!
Dynamic Duos Redo 2013-006

I decided it was time to stop re-inventing the wheel every time and to CASE myself!

I don’t know why I don’t do this more often…I need to tell myself that it’s really okay!

Here is my New card followed by the one I ” CASED”.

For the life of me…I can’t get the hot pink colors to come out correct with my photos!

You will have to trust me on this…it’s really bright pink!

IMG_0002

I paper pieced the umbrella and raised it up with dimensionals.

IMG_0001

I think I am still more in favor of the original…but that’s okay too!

Any questions on either of these…give me a shout out!

The stamps are just something I picked up cheap at Michaels.

Take care,

Nanc’

Clean and Simple….X 2

IMG_0001

Hope your weekend is going well!

Horribly cloudy and chilly here…so I took that as a sign that

I should hang out this afternoon in my studio …and that is what I did! 🙂

Today’s card is for 2 challenge blogs that are both looking for Clean and Simple Designs this week.

Stamp TV and Addicted to Stamps and More!

GINA K

Although the card is definitely CAS…it still took me quite a while to do,

because of all the fussy cutting and shading with colored pencil.

Love this stamp set by Gina K Designs!

I just picked up this Recollections Valentine Paper pack from Michaels last night!

Hope you find time to be creative too…it’s good for the soul,

LOVE at JUGS and a Color Challenge

Hello Happy Weekend,

Today over at Just Us Girls, Marisa has this great photo to inspire us!

Look at all that LOVE Inspiration you can pull from to get your MOJO flowing!

Screen Shot 2014-01-11 at 7.59.15 PM

The Bold letters are what first inspired me and then the rest just fell into place.

I had some watercolor paper still out on my desk from another soon to post

project and I enjoyed using it so much I decided to use it again.

JUGS

I am also entering this in the color challenge over at The Pink Elephant!

The colors this week are Pink, Red and your choice!

I obviously chose green!

TPE-ColorChallenge2

Card Details:

That heart vine image is one of the first stamps I ever purchased and it’s from Studio G,

and I probably picked it up at Michaels.

Used my SU watercolor brush and Real Red and Lucky Limeade Ink.

I used my Fiskars cutter to make the fancy Victorian edge and then decided not to waste

that piece and put it on the other side.  ( ignore the smudge mark) 😦

Made the letters with my Cricut and ran them through my Cuttlebug!

Really happy with the outcome!

Come on over to Just Us Girls and join us!

Just a reminder:  if you win Chic of the Week in any of our January challenges,

Die Cut Crazy latest project

Hello Crafters,

This was my submission for this month’s Die Cut Crazy magazine…
seo_cw_product

If you want all the details on how this project came to be you can

click on the image above and it will take you to the iTunes store.

A co-worker asked me to decorate this picture frame with an inspirational word

that she could look at every time she wakes up in the morning.

I chose BELIEVE!  Such a powerful word …wouldn’t you agree?

It all starts with a picture frame.

Mine is 5 x 7, but any size will do!

And this is the finished project!

My co-worker loved it by the way!
Hope I have inspired you to create one of your own!

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge

Hi…I have a quick post that I almost forgot to get up in time!

Over at Stamp TV, they have this great sketch challenge that ends today at 8!

I really loved this sketch and will use it again I am sure!!

I made this card yesterday for a dear co-worker that turned 60 today!

IMG_0017

The card stock is a mixture of Stampin Up, K & Company and scraps.

The Sentiment is for Inspiration Mosaic from Gina K and the

label that the 60 is in is also Gina K called Lovely Labels 1.

The center of the flower and the stem die is from My Favorite Things.

Used a Victoria Cuttlebug embossing folder and my Cricut to cut out the 60.

Hope you have a great day!

Our Sweet Muff Dog….

WARNING!!!

This is not a crafty related post!

When I started this blog back in 2008 I knew I wanted to use it as a place to journal my thoughts

along with a place to share my passion for scrapbooking and card making.

I feel it is a great resource in remembering your life and the life of your family!

Speaking of family ……On Friday, I finally got up the courage to put

my sweet Dachshund Muffy to sleep.  She was just one month shy of 15 years old.

Here are a few photos that will reflect why she was the best pet a family could have ever asked for!

Muffy 1

Tyler picked out her name, because when she slept she curled up just like a Muffin.

Muffy 2

She loved the water and I feel she always thought she was more of a Great Dane then a Dachshund

by the size of sticks she would fetch from the water at the beach.

Muffy….. thanks for making our house a home!

Color Challenge time at JUGS

Hi friends,

Vicki is hosting over at Just Us Girls this week and here are the colors

she chose for us to work with this week!

Kraft or Brown – Baja Breeze – Marina Mist

I have really been hooked on Marina Mist lately!

Do you ever get stuck on a color and you can’t stop?

Screen Shot 2013-12-28 at 3.45.18 PM

I am also linking this up with a great sketch over at Seize the Sketch!

STS-#11_01

IMG_0001

This card was really fun to put together!

I relied heavily on my Cricut this week for all the extra swirls around my flowers.

The heart border punch is Martha Stewart, and the flowers are Recollections.

The sentiment is from Verve in the Take Note stamp set.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend…3 day weekend for me…Woop Woop!

I hope you will stop by Just Us Girls to see what the rest of the team and Geri,
our guest designer,  have created with these colors!
 Also,
Winning  Chic of the Week puts you in the running for the GD spot.
The Chic picked from the January challenges will be invited to join the team
as our Guest Designer for the month of March.

Our “Toppings” option this time is

 “Coloring”

It can be with any type of coloring Medium you want to use:

markers, chalk, colored pencils, paint, and more!

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

If your not a toppings kinda person, well…..you can just

stick with our usual “Anything Goes”Birthday!

 The choice is yours!

I thought it was way past time for me to get out my colored chalk!

IMG_0001

The flowers are Stampin Up- Flower Shop and the sentiment is from Verve- Take Note.

I used a q-tip to do my coloring.  The dark paper looks blue, but is actually purple.

The scrap DP I have had for about 10 years, I throw no scraps away..LOL

so I am not sure who’s it is….sorry! :/

I put some stickles on the centers of the flowers, but should have left

well enough alone!
