to use Red and Brown on our project!

That flower stamp is one of those Stamps…you don’t know where you picked it up

but your very glad you did…LOVE it!  The sentiment is Stampin UP and the

text stamp is from Stampabilities/ Michaels.

The button centers on the flowers is a die cut from MFT.

Paper is from Stampin Up and the Cardstock is Gina K Designs.

This card is going to be in the mail very soon and on it’s way to a dear friend!

I plan on showering her with as many cards as possible!

She needs it and is in my heart continuously!

For a Dear Friend…

Hello Friends,

Today’s card is for a very dear friend of mine and a Fellow Design Team member,

who really needs a ton of prayer, love, and support right now!

I hope this helps in at least a small way to know how much I care!

Pink and Brown is one of my all time Favorite color combos!

The top panel is a piece of pink vellum that I stamped on and the single brown flower

is heat embossed with brown embossing powder.

I also stamped the same image on the brown cardstock with versamark.

The sentiment is from Verve!

I am entering this card in the following challenges!

The Pink Elephant

TPE-ColorChallenge2

Their requirements was to use your favorite color combo.

Paired them up with this great Sketch from my friend Lesley!

Tall and Skinny….

Hello there friends,

It’s the 5th Saturday of the month so it’s Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls!

Marisa has picked out a great idea for us this time!

Screen Shot 2014-03-27 at 8.56.24 AM

My Niece just had a baby and I needed to get a card out to her ASAP so

I decided to incorporate my baby card into this challenge!

Here is what I did!

IMG_0004

I wanted to personalize the card and use her beautiful name Amelia on it!

Also, I adore this elephant stamp from Verve so I had to use him as well.

The Sentiment and the dotted label is from Stamp TV!

If you have any other questions let me know!

Now don’t forget…..

The rest of the JUGS team has some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going,

so just hop on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created.

Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post

on the JUGS blog for the chance to be selected as Chic of the Week and then possibly

after that a Guest Designer with us!

Hope to see you there!

Oh, and Thanks to our GD Calypso for being with us this month…you were awesome!

The Card Concept

Hello Again,

I have a card for you today that was inspired by this great photo over

at The Card Concept.  I took this Photo Challenge VERY literally and

copied the photo the best I could.

For this card I guess my style would be Clean and Layered,

but I am not sure! LOL  Either that or a Little Shabby Chic.

The only thing I didn’t do was make the

moss and the mushrooms.  Speaking of mushrooms…when I was a little

girl I drew mushrooms ALL the time…lol!

So when I saw this photo it brought back great memories

and I knew I didn’t want to miss playing along!

Here are a few other shots!

IMG_0003

I have had this leftover wood background piece that I had created laying around

for months and I just couldn’t throw it away.

Love when things like that work out!

Still think the card is missing something…but I just couldn’t come up with it!

Like a said before…Some of you make think I took this photo challenge to literally,

but I had a great time creating it!

The flowers were made with punches and the cake was embossed with my

Cuttlebug and Victoria embossing folder.

The sentiment is from Verve.

Thanks for stopping by, you always make me smile with your kind words!

Buttons and Rhinestones

Hello Friends,

Today over at Seize the Birthday our toppings option is…

Buttons or Rhinestones!

STB Toppings

We also have to say Goodbye to one of our talented DT members..

Sheri Gilson

Thanks for everything Sheri…you will be truly missed!

Here is what I did this week!

IMG_00025

I had a blast making this card!

The flower image is from SU (Thoughts and Prayers set),

and embossed with white embossing powder.

After that, I took my Spectrum Noir pens and colored the flowers

and left the leaves and stems alone.

Finished off the centers with some rhinestones.

The sentiment and the flower is from Verve!

The stem is a die cut from MFT.

The photo doesn’t do this card justice…it’s actually prettier in person!  Trust me!

Hope you join us this week over at Seize the Birthday and show us your Buttons or Bling,

or if your not a toppings kinda person…just any Birthday creation will do!

Take care,

Nanc’

DD…..Triple Threat

Hello Friends,

Over at Dynamic Duos this week they have a triple threat going on!

95

My colors don’t match perfectly as I didn’t have any of the Pale Plum, and

the Soft Sky looks more green to me in the photo so I went with more of a sky blue like

the words said…so I was a little compuzzled to say the least.

Hopefully my colors are good enough!

Despite the color issues….

I loved having the chance to join DD this week!  I love this challenge site!!

IMG_0002

I made these balloons a while back on a birthday tag and loved them so much I decided to

make them again!  This time I added the string!

The sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants SU set that I just got!

I don’t know if you realize but I do a lot of paper piecing on my cards.

I always add a thin border or something along those lines as I go.

So when you see all the layers of colors…they are not very large pieces and

are generally on the top and not hidden beneath.  Just thought I would share that…it’s kinda

my signature style so to speak.  I don’t like wasting any paper and I use all my scraps despite their size.

Hope you have a wonderful day!  As I mentioned I am on Spring Break and it’s raining…not a happy girl!

Oh well,  I guess I will stamp some more! 🙂

My Creative Space…Updated!

Hello Friends,

I thought it was time that I updated my Creative Space Page and show

exactly what my space looks like currently!  I knew that my supplies had

grown quite a bit, but now that I have the comparison photos to prove it

I think I have tripled my supplies at least. LOL

Good thing my DH is so supportive and that a lot of it is stashed away!

So the first photo the smaller one will be the THEN and the following will be the NOW!

These are my wood mounted stamps along with some

old Stampin Up stamps,  flowers, buttons and wooden embellishments.

IMG_0020

The magnetic board on the right is so cool, that is where I display some of the cards I have received

from other stampers or some of my work as well.  The little red shelf I found in the garbage.

Yes, I am sometimes tempted to stop on the side of the road and pick up a treasure or two.

I found that on a bike ride recently and carried it all the way home.  Spray paint does wonders!

IMG_0010

My new chair is from IKEA…Love it!  It sits me up really high which was not easy

to find when your 6 feet tall.  Hubby also made my ribbon holder and the white elevated shelf to the right.

I am always looking for a way to get more work space and that really helped.

This area hasn’t changed much although I have acquired quite a bit of

embossing folders and die cuts since the above photo was taken and a new paper cutter.

Look how old the other one was. LOL

My studio use to be a kitchen so that is why you see a faucet in the photo. Your not seeing things…LOL

We kept the sink just incase we ever needed to change it back.

It’s just covered up with 2 pieces of wood.

IMG_0017

Here is a better shot of how little I use to have! LOL

I am very lucky to have a very large window so that I can look outside and wave to

my hubby when he is in his shed.  We sometimes write notes back in forth to each other

and stick them in the window.

IMG_0018

Here is a shot with the blinds closed so that there is no glare.

I also decorated the letters CREATE, made the Valentine shadow box

and painted the valance my hubby made.

IMG_0009

Here is a photo so you can kind of see the backyard.  The shed is directly to the right of the photo.

IMG_0008

Here is my homemade light box!

IMG_0014

Here is a photo of my floor that hubby put it.  The black cart is new too,

comes in handy holding many various things….I got it at Staples.

The accordion file folder is one of those simple things I could

never live without!  It holds all of my scrap papers by color.  I LOVE IT!

IMG_0016

Thanks for letting me share my space with you!

If you have any questions at all just let me know!

Have a wonderful day and find time to create…it’s good for the soul!

Hosting this week at JUGS!

Hello Friends,

Happy Weekend and Spring Break!!!  WooHOO!!

I am hosting this week over at Just Us Girls and have I got a beautiful

Inspiration Photo for you!

Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 8.59.53 PM

Don’t you just wish you were in that Balloon?

I am afraid of heights, but it still looks beautiful!  Love those colors too!

IMG_0026

I wanted to make my own cloud background so I watched this great video from Gina K.

I have done this technique before, however I loved the way she stamped it while

it was inside the Nestie.  I thought it was a brilliant idea!

Let’s talk about my added cloud for a minute… I cut out a cloud from a piece of

DP that actually had clouds on it.  I decided to use that as my pattern to sponge around.

When I was finished getting it all inky around the edges, I loved the way it looked so

much that I decided to incorporate it into my layout.  Love when things like that happen.

I paper pieced parts of the balloons and added the banners and string!

I paired it up with this great sketch over at Seize the Sketch!

STS-#16

The rest of the JUGS team, along with our March Guest Designer Calypso Basitan,

have some fantastic samples to get your inspiration going,

so head on over to the Just Us Girls blog and check out what they have created.

Then put your creative juices to work and add your card/project

to the challenge post on the JUGS blog for the chance to be chosen

as the Chic of the Week.  Plus if you are chosen as Chic of the Week,

you could be invited to be our Guest Designer.

GOOD LUCK!

Hope to see you there!
