Minis…

Hello,

I have a quick post for you today before I get on with the 4th of July festivities and the rain stops!

I saw this great Mini challenge over at the Mod Squad and knew I wanted to play along.

However, I had a really tough time photographing these 3 x 3’s.  I think they came out rather cute!

Here is another shot…the sides of my unfinished light box was showing so I had to crop them in. LOL

I thought the sequins were a great idea for the body of the butterfly!

The Butterfly and the sentiment is from Gina K and the background script is

something I picked up at Michaels long ago.  One of those stamps you couldn’t live without!

What you do is cut a circle out of a piece of copy paper…the thinner the better.

Then lay the template on top of your card stock and stamp. It makes a perfect circle or

whatever shape you’ve used.  Then I repeated the step with the butterfly.

Hope this makes sense and I am sure the technique has a name!

Let me know if you know what it is…LOL.

Probably some sort of masking technique.

Enjoy your day!

Stars and or Stripes

IMG_0012

Hello Friends,

With Fourth of July weekend right around the corner the ladies and I

over at Seize the Birthday have a “Toppings” option that fits the occasion.

STB Toppings

You don’t have to stick to the traditional Red, White and Blue like I did,

just incorporate Stars and or Stripes in your card!

And remember over at STB the “Topping” is and Option and not a requirement!

You just have to stick to the Birthday Theme!

I also, have a brand new Challenge site that one of my

friends and fellow Just Us Girls teammates has started and it’s called…

Mixed Media Mojo!

Graphic2 copy 2

I just so happened to have been dabbling in MM this week so it worked out

perfectly when I heard all about it!  Don’t you love when that happens!

They also have a Patriotic theme going on!

Best of Luck Maria…on your new Challenge Site!

Here are a couple more shots of my card so that you can see the details.

My new favorite thing is Embossing paste!  Soooo Fun!!

I have two layers on my flag.

It’s so much fun going through my stencils and using them again!

I got a little carried away with my Ranger Rick Red Ink spritz,

but what ya gonna do..I am still learning!  I guess I have a heavy finger! LOL

I soooo wish I would have taken step by step shots of this card..because it had many steps.

I even took my stencil and layed it back on my card to color in the

stars they have paste under them as well.

The Silver DP at the bottom I loved, but thought it needed a couple of red and blue

stars on it to tie it all in together.  Luckily I have a small star hole punch!

The sentiment is from Verve!

I have a girlfriend who has a Fourth of July Birthday…and I sure hope she likes her card!

Now, I have linked up both sites for you to go and check out!

I hope to see you over at STB this time!

You wouldn’t believe what my talented team did

with the Topping this week!

Take care and Happy 4th!

Today’s card is for another new challenge site that I am so excited about called

The Cutting Edge

It was also started by Jackie Rockwell (she has been busy) and I wanted to make sure I played along!

You have to check it out…it’s Design Team has so much talent!

Here is the Inspiration behind their first challenge!

I paired up this challenge with this great Sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

I really like this Sketch….I will be using it again!

FMS Final 143-001

Then I got out my Cricut and Cuttlebug and went to work.

Love using Hexagons for a change and the Word So is from

an Old Stampin UP set and the Word Happy is from Verve.

Hope you have a creative day and while your at it

go check out both of these Challenge blogs I have linked them up for you!

Take care,
