Wishing You Peace…

DSC_0163

Hello Friends,

My good friend Sharyn is hosting this week over at the Mod Squad and I was determined to play along.  Her and I have never met, but she is always there for me when I need someone to vent to or just to chat with, and I was not going to disappoint her!  Her challenge is a Word Challenge and her word is HOLIDAY!  That leaves it wide open doesn’t it?   I went with Christmas as it is not as far off as you might think, (well actually it’s 86 days away).  Your welcome! LOL  Anyhoo,  it was time to get going on some of these types of cards!

ModSquadBadge

The die cut is something I am fortunate enough to have at my school and I just LOVE it!  I ran it through my Cuttlebug and embossed it.  The paper is a mix of this and that, the shimmery silver is from SU. The ribbon is so see through it almost looks as if it is moving in the photo.  The sentiment is from Verve ( With Love set)!  Some punches, nestabilties and pop dots and that is about it.

DivaDareNoFrame150_LOGO

Speaking of Verve,  I am also going to link this card up over there as well, as their challenge this time around is to use 3 of something on your card and I used 3 snowflakes.

Hope you had a wonderful creative day and if you have some time why don’t you stop by both blogs and play along too!

I know I sound like a broken record…but the photo doesn’t do this card justice.  it’s raining again or I would have taken the photo outside!  Note to self….buying a new DSLR camera..will not make you a pro over night! eeergh!

Take care,

Fall Photo Week at JUGS!

DSC_0164

Screen Shot 2014-08-23 at 7.17.07 PM

Hello Friends and Happy Fall,  Today over at Just Us Girls Sue V. has a great Fall photo challenge for us!  I know part of the U.S. is experiencing a change in temps, while us here in Florida will just have to pretend it is indeed fall for a little longer.  Even though our temps are still warm, I had no problems diving into this photo and coming up with a card.  I also want to give a special thanks to our Guest Designer this month Bobby!  She was such a pleasure to work with and her cards were wonderful…make sure you check out her blog!

I am also linking this card up over at The Card Concept where they have a color challenge going on with wonderful fall colors.  This card is definitely Clean and Layered…it seems to be my thing lately!

The card came to life with this great CAS sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I just adore sketch challenges…don’t you?  I am so glad I got to join them this week!

FMS Final 155-001

Here are a few card details:  Sentiment and scalloped stamp is from Verve. Leave stamps are from Cloud Nine.  All ink and paper is from Stampin Up.  I also used Stampin Up’s tag punch for the outside tag.  I used SU dots, some twine, and a burlap flower as my accent pieces.

I so appreciate you stopping in today and Remember…..If your chosen as our Chic of the Week over at Just Us Girls you will become eligible to possibly be one of our Guest Designers in the month of November!   Good luck and hope to see you there!  Nanc’

Banners and or Pennants

DSC_0156Hello friends,

Over at Seize the Birthday this time around we have a rather simple toppings option.  This time it’s either Pennants or Banners….or both!  The choice is yours.  Also, remember you don’t have to use the topping, just any kind of Birthday card and or project will do.  So what are you waiting for come on over at join the girls and I.

STB

I think my card is rather easy to follow.  I used the stampin up pennant punch and then decided that flags were to long so I trimmed them down.  The pennants were all decorated and or embossed in one fashion or another and adhered with pop dots.  The sentiment is from Verve.  The paper is a hodge podge of this and that. The heart border is also from Verve.  I am in love with this die!  I decided I wanted to do a better job at hiding the pen drawn lines, so I covered most of it with some gems.

Hope you have a wonderful day and hope to also see you over at Seize the Birthday!

Take care and I appreciate you stopping in and your comments truly make my day!

Just Us Girls Color Challenge!

DSC_0153

Hello friends,  It is my week to be hosting over at Just Us Girls and it’s color week and I have one of my all time favorite color combos for you!  Shades of Pink and Ivory!  When I was younger I was definitely not a pink kind of girl, but that all changed after my 30’s I would say!  Now anytime I have on a pink shirt everyone says it’s ” My Color.”  Anyways,  Hope you come on over and Join Us at JUGS this week and see what the Design Team and our GD Bobby has done with these colors!

Screen Shot 2014-08-21 at 9.34.47 PM

Here are a few card details:  All of the card stock, paper, and stamps are from Stampin UP.  I embossed that beautiful flower from the set Blooming with Kindness with gold embossing powder along with the sentiment which is from Express Yourself.  I used 4 different shapes of nestabilities. I sponged over the embossed flower with SU Blushing Bride ink.  The ribbon and Stylish Stripes embossing folder is also from Stampin Up. Two of the 3 flowers and the labels are made with SU punches.   The 21 is some great gold stickers I found that matched perfectly!   Any other questions….just let me know!

This card came out rather nice, but I am still working with the camera so the photo doesn’t quite do it justice!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and find sometime to be creative and play along with me!

Who knows….if you are chosen as the Chic of the week…you can possibly be selected to be a future Guest Designer with us too!

Trend Week and DT call at JUGS!

DSC_0158

This week over at Just Us GiScreen Shot 2014-08-21 at 9.31.57 PMrls Vicki has picked a perfect trend for us!  Watercoloring!  This trend is so popular right now and let me just say that before you judge me on my feeble attempt…..it’s the Journey that is the important part right?  And I have to say that I had a great time learning and watching this incredible video by Dawn Woleslagle over at Stamp Away with Me.  OMG…is she ever talented!!!  The resident art teacher in the house told me that I didn’t do so hot….in so many words! LOL  Well, better luck next time!  Yes, I am going to give this another shot very soon. I must say that I am very happy with my leaves…and hubby was too!  Such a bummer that I rocked my stamp on my sentiment…oh well, what can you do!  Of course then I go and add the two hearts next to it and draw attention to it…LOL    The stamps are a mixture of an old (Flashy Florals) and current (Stippled Blossoms) SU set.  The papers and ink are all SU as well! The sentiment is something I have had for YEARS! The two hearts are from Verve’s Take Note.

Now before you go….Over at Just Us Girls this week we also have a DT search going on for a new Designer.  So if this is something you might be interested in….. please come by and check out the details and also while your there you can see how fabulous the DT did with this challenge!  Far better then me!

Take care and hopefully you can find sometime this weekend to try your hand at watercoloring!

Sweet Birthday

It's Your Burfday

Over at Seize the Birthday this time we have a SWEET toppings option for you to try!  I know man I mean woman cannot live on sweets alone, but personally I think I could!  Every night hubby and I have ice cream before bed, what can I say, it’s my weakness for sure!  So when this topping came around, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it! I think the sequins made a nice added touch …however hubby said that sprinkles tend to be shaped more like an oval then a circle…there is always a critic in every crowd! LOL  The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.  The cone actually folds open, and originally I was going to stick part of the ice-cream scallops down inside the cone, however It just didn’t look right to me, so I glued it shut and went with this layout with the ice cream on the outside. Love the SU embossing folder that made the cone so realistic.  The card is rather self explanatory. However, the DP at the bottom worked well…don’t you think?  It’s from DCWV called The Sweet.

STB

Now what do you think of when your given the word SWEETS?  Why not join us this time over at Seize the Birthday!  Always remember that over at STB the topping is OPTIONAL, if you don’t want to use it you don’t have to, just make any type of Birthday Project!

While your at it there is also a SWEET SEPTEMBER challenge over at the Verve Blog and I couldn’t wait to link up my project there as well!  I had a great time combining these challenges this week…hope you have been inspired just a little bit if not by my work….then to run out and get yourself some ice-cream! LOL

Take care and make sure you find time to be creative…it’s good for the soul,

Leaves

DSC_0049

Hello Everyone,  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Word Week and the word that has been selected is perfect for this time of the year…  LEAVES!  Fall is hopefully right around the corner, as this heat in Florida is getting a tad ridiculous!  I can’t remember an August and the start of September being this warm in recent years.   Okay onto the real reason you are here!  It just so happens that the  Curtain Call also has a gorgeous inspiration shot of leaves for their challenge this time around, so I will also be linking my card over there this week as well.  Love when things Fall together that way…..LOL!  🙂

lovely leaves

Here are a few details on my card: Sentiment and bird is from Verve from the With Love set. Leaves are from Cloud Nine…I have had them for years and LOVE them! The ink is all Stampin UP and that gorgeous ribbon is also Verve.  I have scoring down three of the sides of my panel and not sure it’s real noticeable in the photo.  I speckled my background a little before and after I stamped the leaves…such a fun technique and paper pieced the little bird. The banner is a nestabilitie.  That about does it.  Hope you come on over to Just Us Girls and see what the Design Team has been up to and welcome our new Guest Designer Bobby Hagen!  WELCOME BOBBY I am thrilled you are with us this week! Remember if your selected as our Chic of the Week you are in the running for a possible spot as a Guest Designer too.  See you over at JUGS!

Playing for Fun!

DSC_0047

Hello Friends,

It felt great to get in the studio yesterday afternoon and create something for

a challenge outside of my Design Teams.  LOVE my Design teams don’t get me wrong,

I just felt I was neglecting some of my other favorite blogs since headed back to work.

I love playing along with the Mod Squad and Paper Players

A lot of my good friends and people that inspire me a great deal

play at or design for both of those Challenge Blogs, so even if I miss a challenge

I never miss a week of seeing what both sites have been up to.

I decided to pair these two challenges together for my card!

Mod Squad has a Fruitful Challenge this time around.

ModSquadBadge

and the Paper Players has a Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week.

pp211

I chose Patterned Paper, Ribbon, and Purple but

also realized that Green, Embossing, and Ribbon works too.

Now how about some details on my card!

I think if people watched me make a card they would get a big chuckle.

The ideas to change things always come when the card is nearly complete and you

can usually find me tearing it apart.  Carefully I might add.

This card was true to that statement.

Before I settled on the cord bow…and I must repeat settled!  I was trying to weave my

cord ribbon under my popped up pumpkin in between all of the pop dots.  No luck…

why again did I use glue…they are already sticky! LOL

Also, I love the added colored dots inside my (Verve) banner template,

the added black trim around my letters really made them pop as well.

I love little details that is for sure the more intricate the better.

I think color balance is so important to a piece…. of any type of art.

I colored the pumpkin with my Spectrum Noir pens and

I stole the idea from Cindy Lawrence and decided

to photograph the pens I used.  Go check out her photos …WOW!!

I didn’t have a red I was happy with so I used a prisma colored pencil too.

DSC_0046

Of course my photo looks nothing like hers…but I have to be patient

I am still learning my new camera.

The pumpkin stamp is smoothing I picked up at Michaels and the

cool label background is from Gina K Designs.

The letters were made with an ABC set, but that is obvious I am sure.

The paper is a 6 x 6 fall pack from Recollections.

The circle behind the pumpkin and the label at the bottom are Nestabilities.

Hope you have/had an amazing Day and if your like me you have the day off! 🙂

Take care, and I so appreciate all of YOU!
