Hello Friends, It’s color week this week at Just Us Girls and Sharyn has picked the perfect color combo for this time of year! My card was so much fun to make that I I decided to make quite a few variations of it in other colors as well. You should see it in turquoise! Well, you might see it sometime before Christmas! I have a photo below to kinda help better explain how I made my tree. The stamp set that I used is one very old retired Stampin Up set called Branching Out. I think it was one of my first stamp sets I ever purchased. I used the negative on my tree die from my school and then stamped the insides using the splat stamp (not sure how else to describe it) to make the leaves of the tree in 3 different SU shades of green. The bottom border dies are from Verve and the sentiment is from SU. Added some bling and the stars from the die and I was all done. Relatively quick card with a great punch. I brought the supplies to make this card to a girl’s get-together with some of my friends about a month ago and they really liked it.
Please come on over to Just Us Girls this week and join us and who knows you may become our next Guest designer just like Louise!
See you in the gallery, Nanc’

What a clever idea. I can see how you would want to make a lot of them, and in different colors too. Simply a sweet Christmas card. The sentiment is perfect with the CAS design too. You must be so excited to be getting ready for you trip. Best wishes for a very Happy Thanksgiving, Nancy.

You are so clever! I love the tree and how you made it. Not only was that a good filler for a background but you used it for a focal image as well! Great design and very festive!

That’s such a cool tree, Nancy … the tiny splatters in those lovely greens give it a fabulous sense of dimension … and it’s so festive decorated with those shimmery sequins! Hugs, Anita 🙂

That tree is amazing! I love the softness of those varying greens and you finished it off beautifully with those sequins and the star tree topper.

I LOVE this idea! What a great way to use a negative die cut and using a few different greens with that splatter stamp was pure genius!
