Wild Card Week

DSC_0462.jpg

Screen Shot 2015-12-06 at 9.57.59 PMHello Friends, It’s time for another great challenge over at Just Us Girls.  Can you believe it’s the 5th Saturday of January already?  I honestly don’t know where the time goes.  We are also half way through the school year and starting the third quarter.  Which we affectionately refer to as the ” Sink or Swim Quarter.”  It always holds true too!  Anyhoozal…..Since it’s the 5th Saturday of the month it’s wild card week and Chris has a Tic Tac Toe challenge for us.  I don’t know about you but, I kinda like them. I have chosen the column straight down the middle with; die-cut, stamps and flowers.  Infact, I had so much fun that I made two more cards after this one.

Card Details: I was kinda all over the place with this so if you need any info please ask!  Now come on over to Just Us Girls this week and pick a column or row for Tic Tac Toe and while your there check out what the team and our Two Guest Designers did this week.  Speaking of Guests.  I need to thank Vicki and Deepti for being with us, we sure have enjoyed having you both.

Take care,  Nancy

Sketch at Seize the Birthday

DSC_0025

Screen Shot 2015-10-23 at 8.25.51 PMHello Friends,  It’s time again for a new topping over at Seize the Birthday and this time around we have a sketch for you to try, but remember if you don’t want to use the topping you don’t have to, just make sure your card and or project is birthday related.  I also want to take a minute to thank Tanja for being such a super Surprise Party Guest! We love your work Tanja and it’s been a pleasure having you with us!  Now my card was a lot of fun to put together.  I started off using the smooshing technique with my acrylic blocks on watercolor paper. I think I got a little carried away and smooshed a little much, but I still received some cool results!  I used some left over pieces for my flowers.  The flowers were also heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The rectangle and circle dies, the vellum leaves, and the heart border die reallyhelped this card come together.  If you have any other questions…let me know!

Hope you will take a minute and come see what my fabulous team did this week at Seize the Birthday!  Take care and find sometime to create…it’s good for the soul!  Nanc’

My Greatest Joy!

DSC_0028

Hello Friends,  Hope you are having a good day, however you wish to spend it!  This card will be on it’s way very soon to my son, inside his V-day care package. I sure hope he doesn’t decide to visit my blog any time soon. LOL Here is a photo of the original card and let’s see if you can see why I had to fix it!

I didn’t even realize till I was making the post. LOL  And NO, I do not drink when I craft…but maybe I should. The card was made with the negative of the new Heart die from Stampin UP.  It’s so very pretty and on order, however I saved the negative piece from my card club class, as I thought it was so unique.  Sure glad I did! The sentiment is yet again from that Tuesday Morning set that I have been raving about! I am entering this card over at the Mod Squad challenge where two friends of mine are duo-hosting and over at Addicted to CAS where the code word is RED!

Thanks for stopping by, your comments and visits fuel my mojo and warm my heart!

You Are My Anchor

DSC_0006

Screen Shot 2015-12-06 at 9.34.33 PMHello Friends, It’s the weekend and time for our Photo Week at Just Us Girls!  Sharyn is our hostess and she has picked a great photo for us.  I wish my bedroom looked like that photo, looks fresh, clean and inviting!  I wanted to use my Cameo again, so I decided it would be the perfect tool to cut out an Anchor. The sentiments are partly from that Tuesday Morning Love set that I have been raving about, and the word anchor was stamped with some alphabet stamps.  The great chevron background was done with a SU Embossing Folder and my inked up brayer.  I first inked the EF and then wasn’t happy with the results so I just went ahead and inked the card stock some more till I achieved some good results.  Please come see what the Design Team and our two-Guest Designers did with the challenge…you won’t be disappointed!   If your caught in the middle of some of this terrible winter weather…stay safe! Nanc’

DSC_0011I went back to my desk to clean up and decided to make another quick card with the other piece of chevron I had made. 🙂

You and Me

DSC_0485

VLVJan16Sketch2Hello Friends,  As promised I am back again today with the second sketch from Viva La Verve this month. I did a bunch of layering for this card so you have to look closely to see the sketch, but I promise it’s there. The large & was cut from a full piece of 6 x 6 card stock.  I wanted the large circle in the sketch to be the bottom part of the &.  All the paper is from Stampin Up once again. The fun circle edge dies at the top and bottom of the card are from Verve, and I couldn’t live without them. I appreciate the visits and all the love you have shown me this week.  I am sure this creativity won’t last forever, so I will take what I can when it comes.  Take care, Nanc’

Viva La Verve Sketch

DSC_0482

VLVJan16Sketch1Hello Friends,  I have been on a Valentine kick as of late and what I find strange is that I am not a huge fan of the Holiday, but yet I love making the cards in that theme…Kinda bizarre I know.  I think it’s the colors and hearts that draw me in….I do love to create with hearts! Anyhoozel, I love the way this card came together so quickly, thanks to this great sketch over at Viva La Verve.  Speaking of Verve, I used their set called Take Note, that I just love, and the paper is from Stampin Up.  I will be back tomorrow with another Valentine….like I said I am feeling the LOVE!  Hope you have a wonderful day and find time to be creative!   Nanc’

CAS Valentine

DSC_0489

pp278Hello Friends,  I have a Clean and Simple card for you today that goes along with the CAS Valentine challenge over at The Paper Players!  About a month or so ago Hubby and I took a road trip to St. Pete to a very awesome Scrapbooking store and then later on to the Dali Museum where they were featuring work of Escher.  It was awesome! He was helping me look through a clearance rack at the store.  He came across this stamp set from Tuesday Morning, called Loving Words and it is FABULOUS!  I know for sure you will be seeing a lot of this set in the future. I used it for the sentiment on this card.  I like the font and the way the type set isn’t perfect and almost like a typewriter.  So at first glance you might have thought my stamping stunk, well actually…. it’s suppose to look like that. LOL  The heart was sponged using a stencil from Heidi Swap, the cute little tickets are from a Recollection Valentine set from Michaels and the paper is from Stampin Up.  Happy Creating, Nanc’

ColourQ

DSC_0491

cqc324Hello Friends,  I had some time last night to get creative, and when the time presents itself  you have to take advantage of it. I needed a thinking of you card for a dear friend that was diagnosed with cancer, and if that isn’t bad enough she already has MS. It breaks my heart!  She has the kindest heart of anyone I know, so I hope this card cheers her up just a little. In the past month alone, I have needed 5 cards for friends with cancer! 😦  Makes you realize that you need to count your blessings each and everyday!

I pulled out my prisma colored pencils and went to work, after I found this great Color Combo over at the ColourQ. I also used one of my favorite stamps from Stampin Up called Love is Kindness.   I did in fact use a silver prisma colored pencil to shade the newspaper…so I hope it still qualifies for the challenge.

I hope you are having a terrific day!  Mine has started very well! I went to breakfast with my sister and a dear friend, and squeezed in a bit of shopping too!  Take care,  Nanc’

Mojo Monday #430

DSC_0483

DSC_0484Hello Friends,  I hope you are having a great day!  I managed to have quite a bit of stamping time this weekend which is always a win win in my book.  Before I went to work I decided to go see what Mojo Monday and Viva La Verve had for us this week.  I love starting my creativity with a sketch.  So I made some cards for both challenges, the others will be posted later.  I pulled out one of my favorite Verve stamp sets called With Love, some Stampin Up paper and my new Bow Dies from Paper Smooches that I just got and have wanted for nearly two years. My mom always said before you make a hasty purchase you should sleep on it for a few days.  Well I took my mom’s advice and then some.  LOL  It’s hard to tell in the photo but the silver piece of cardstock is really shiny.  I also took a generic polka dotted dollar bin stamp to give some flare to the white heart.

I am also going to link my card up over at Addicted to Stamps and More where it’s Anything Goes.

I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by! Nanc’

You Color My World

DSC_0468

Screen Shot 2015-12-06 at 9.25.14 PMHello Friends,  Yeah it’s the weekend and today over at Just Us Girls it’s Color Week and Maria has a very easy color combo picked out for you…White, Navy and Light Blue.  I recently got that cute little crayon stamp, and sentiment from Lawn Fawn and couldn’t wait to use him.  I see many, many more cards in the future with this adorable set, especially with an artist in the house. The splats were made with a stamp from Paper Smooches- called Positive Strokes. The Thanks die is also new and it’s from Savvy stamps and I love it cause it’s the perfect size.  When you look at the photo of the Thanks you may think initially that I screwed it up and didn’t put the correct top on my die stack, because it’s all white.  Well, when I was working on my three die-layers and the one with the splats on top,  I didn’t think it showed up enough, so I decided to put the white won on top instead.

Hope you stop by Just Us Girls this week and check out what the team and our Two Guest Designers have done, and while your there consider joining us!

Take care, Nanc’
