Getting Sketchy with Viva la Verve

dsc_0268

vlvsep16sketch1Hello friends, I have had both of these cards done for quite sometime and I am just getting around to finally posting them, and it’s a good thing I didn’t miss the linky window over at Viva la Verve.  I saw this sketch a while ago and loved it right away! That is what I like about Verve’s sketch challenges they are open for the entire month, so plenty of time to play along.  Both of these cards were made with Verve Stamps.  I used a combination of these sets:  Holly Jolly Christmas, Ornamental Christmas, and Bountiful Backgrounds.  The bow die is from Paper Smooches, the stitched panels are from MFT and the scallop die is from Spellbinders…I do believe.  I am doing pretty well with my Christmas card challenge…I am over half way there!

I am so glad you came by to visit and I really appreciate your comments! Take care…Nanc’dsc_0271

Bring on Fall!

dsc_0214

screen-shot-2016-08-12-at-6-25-13-pmHello Friends,  Don’t know about you, but I am ready for some cooler temps!  The heat is intense and I don’t ever remember it bothering me as much as it is has this year.  So I am hoping today’s Inspiration Photo over at Just Us Girls will help persuade fall to show it’s face in Florida.  Wishful thinking I know, but a girl has gotta try.  This card was put together with a little bit of stamps from here and there.  The pumpkin is something I picked up at Michaels, the little leaves and sentiment are from MFT (a PI set called Thankful Friend), and the large leaves are from Altenew’s Beautiful Day set.  Of course I had to use my favorite MFT stitched rectangles too!

I would also like to say thank you to Kathy Schweinfurth for being such an awesome Guest Designer with us this month!  You are truly very talented Kathy and hope to see more of your work in our gallery soon.

ModSquadLogoI am also linking my card up to the Mod Squad challenge where they have asked us to use splats (big or little) on our project.  I love doing the splatter technique…it adds so much to a card with so little effort!

Hope you will consider joining us at JUGS this week.  Take care,  Nanc’

Soft and Simple @ STB

dsc_0227

STB ToppingsHello Friends, It’s once again time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  The topping this time around is Soft and Simple!  Easy huh? I decided to get back out my new Altenew Stamp Set Beautiful Day and get to work. The sentiment however is not from this set, and for the life of me I can’t remember where it’s from.  That’s clearly a sign that I own way to many stamp sets and shouldn’t clean up so quickly after a card is complete!  Before I go, one of my good friends and fellow Design Team members Sharyn is needing to leave STB after this challenge and I want to take a minute to tell her that she will be extremely missed!  Your beautiful cards and friendship mean the world to me Sharyn and I want you to know you will always have a place at STB, if you choose to return! Be well my friend!  I also would like to thank Monika Reeck for being such an AWESOME Surprise Party Guest these past two months and we hope to see you in the gallery from time to time in the near future.

Speaking of gallery, head on over to STB and check out my amazing teams work and while your there…join us!  Nanc’

MFT- Superstar Challenge!

dsc_0257

PrintHello Friends,  I had to make a point to play along with the MFT Superstar Card Challenge!  I adore any and all MFT products….who doesn’t right?  The gallery over there is FULL of amazing entries, but you can’t win unless you try right?  No matter the outcome, I had such a great time making this card! The Mix Match little girl and sentiment are from MFT’s-Pure Innocence- Just the Way you Are. She was made with a mix of Paper Piecing and Prisma Colored Pencil.  Before I started with her, I adhered 9 white MFT-Scalloped Scallop dies to the base of the card. (pictured below)  Mind you, I covered most of them up with my layout, but you can still see them peeking out here and there. LOL  The button dies are also from MFT’s Button Quartet.  The sentiment at the top is stamped on a MFT- Bracket Tab Die-cut, and outlined with pencil.

anything-goes-badgeimg_2166I am also linking my card up to the Anything Goes Challenge going on over at Addicted to Stamps and More. It’s been a bit since I had a chance to join them.

Thanks for stopping by, it makes my day when you visit! Nanc’

Hello Friend!

dsc_0134

screen-shot-2016-08-07-at-11-14-21-amHello Friends,  I hope this post finds you well and you are enjoying your day!  I am hosting this week over at Just Us Girls. This week I have a Color challenge for you!  The colors I have selected are Red, Yellow, and Black…neutrals are always welcome too.  I love how easy and fun this card was to come together.  It all started with my script background stamp from Stampabilities, followed by punching out many petals using my SU Blossoms Petal Punch.  I then took a polka dotted wooden block stamp that I have had for eons and stamped the dots on my petals.  The centers of the flowers were both made with some Nestabilities dies.  I used some dimensionals for the centers of the flowers and I was done. The two sentiments are from Stampendous.

I sure hope you will consider coming over to Just Us Girls and joining us!  The DT and Guest Designer Kathy did an incredible job too!  See you at JUGS! Nanc’

Hello friends,  Today is a fun day for my fabulous Design Team and I over at Seize the Birthday, we are one of the many guests taking part in The Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop with Altenew!  We are absolutely thrilled that they contacted us to join them! Did I mention they have prizes too?  You have got to see the LONG list of Challenge Blogs joining the hop!  It’s incredible!!!

Before I go, my card was made with the Altenew stamp set called Botanical Garden.  I colored the rose buds with my Spectrum Noir pens and used some additional shading with some Prisma Colored Pencils. The sentiment is heat embossed and the black and white background was made with the same rose bud stamp. I added a little bit of white dots for some added interest.  Now, head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out what some of my team-mates have done…their cards are Sensational !!!!  Hope to see you in the gallery too! Nanc’

Happy Holidays with Sequins!

dsc_0221

screen-shot-2016-08-07-at-11-08-27-amHello Friends,  Hope this post finds you well and your having a great day! Today over at Just Us Girls we have a trend challenge going on.  It’s one that I do believe may never go out of style,  it’s to use Sequins on your card and or project.  Easy Peasy huh?  I wanted to get back in the groove with my 4 Christmas cards a month challenge that I put on myself, and thought this would be the perfect time.  Not sure the photo shows all of my sequins, but I do have some on my MS snowflake punches too.  I colored this adorable Stampendous image ever so lightly with my Prisma Noir pens.  I was having so much fun I decided to make two cards.  I don’t know about you, but I can’t make the exact same card twice.  I have to change it up a tad, even if it’s just the papers. The sentiment is from Verve.

dsc_0220 I hope you come on over to Just Us Girls and join us!  The ladies and our Guest Kathy have done a fabulous job, come by and check it out!  Take care, Nanc’

Frames @ Seize the Birthday!

DSC_0211

STB ToppingsHello and Happy Thursday!  Today over at Seize the Birthday our topping option is Frames.  Always remember though, it’s just and option.  If you want to just make a Birthday card and or project that is okay too.  Not sure where my head was with this card?  I’m just going to say that, I thought it was a cool idea at the time to double my frame…not sure what I think now…but the damage is done and the card is already sent out. I must say that I send out all of my cards and rarely have a stash on hand, which I think is a really good problem to have! This rose stamp is a stamp without a name.  About two months ago I got a treasure load of stamps from a friend and this one was in that bunch.  The sentiment however is from Verve and the bow die is from Paper Smooches. The framed die is from MFT.  I attempted to color my rose with colored pencil.

Come on over to Seize the Birthday and check out my fabulous teams creations and while you are there join us, we would love to have you!  Take care, Nanc’

More Mojo Monday!

dsc_0233

mojo464Hello Friends,  I have another card for the fabulous sketch over at Mojo Monday, where it just so happens to be contest week.  If you have never played along over there, you are missing out!   The sad but cute little duckling is from Stampabilities. The sentiment is from Verve and the die-clouds are from Paper Smooches.  I used my Spectrum Noir pens to color my little duckling. I hope you can make out some texture that I tried to achieve on his feathers. I double stamped him and fussy cut him out in hopes to achieve some depth. This card will soon be on his way to …guess who?  I sure am missing him a bunch these days!  Take care, Nanc’

Thanks a Latte!

DSC_0231

mojo464Hello Friends, I had some time today to get in my studio and create.  I went hunting for a sketch to get me started, when I remembered it was Monday. Suddenly, I knew right where to look.  I love this week’s sketch over at MOJO Monday and it just so happens to be contest week over there, so it’s a win win.  I got out one of my old favorite and sadly retired Verve stamp sets called Delightful and Delicious and went to work.  My card is very, simple, but I am happy with it. This is one of my favorite color combinations too.

Hope you are having a terrific Labor Day!  Take care, Nanc’  P.S. GO NOLES!!!  I love College Football!
