Hello from soggy Florida! We have endured Hurricane Hermine and the 12 inches of rain very well and have spent the past couple of days tinkering inside the house and catching up on some of our Amazon Prime and Netflix series. As I am writing this post we still are having some wind gusts of about 4o mph. It keeps you on your toes for sure. We didn’t have school on Thursday or Friday due to so much flooding, and also have Monday off for Labor Day. I guess I could complain, but I can’t figure out why. LOL I guess I will just have to endure! (insert snarky face) Okay, onto today’s card! It’s Word Week over at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen the word Travel. I started this card quite awhile ago at a girls’s stamping get together, and when I came across Ina’s challenge I was thrilled that I had something started. Here is a link to the old Jalopy car by Sizzix and the embossing folders are from Cuttlebug. I do not personally own either of these, as they belong to my good friend Janet. Isn’t that car the coolest? On the inside the card reads, “You’re not old you’re Vintage.” LOL I decided the card needed a little something on the front so I added the 3 pieces of sentiment. I also love taking a sanding block to an embossing folder and letting some of the white underlay peer through. I think it works exceptionally well on masculine cards, don’t you?
Before I go I would like to welcome our new Guest Designer for the month…. Kathy Schweinfurth, Stamps At Play. Welcome Kathy! The girls and I are thrilled you are with us! Speaking of the girls! You have to go look at the entire team’s cards, they are terrific this week! I hope you decide to join us too! Have a great weekend, and with any luck we will dry out and the sun will peer his face today! HUGS! Nanc’
