Where Flowers Bloom…

dsc_0113

screen-shot-2017-01-07-at-7-07-58-pmHello Friends,  I have a rather quick card for you this week as I am still in recovery mode from Balloon Sinuplasty Surgery and what you see above is about all I could muster up. The doctor assured me that this procedure would be life changing and make my Chronic Sinus issues so much better, and I am going to hold him to his word!  The surgery was a success (so they say), despite the O.R. being 3 1/2 hours behind schedule and at the hospital for nearly ten hours for an outpatient procedure, getting completely sick from the anesthesia, and having a heck of a time coming to in the recovery room. The finally kicked me out at 6 o’clock.  I think they thought I weighed 240 lbs. instead of 140, as this girl did not want to wake up.  I am anxious to go for my follow-up on Monday as I’m not feeling so well as of yet.  I was back to work on Tuesday, since we had Monday off for President’s Day and to say it’s been a long short week, would be an understatement.   Okay, you didn’t stop by to read me whine now did you?  Sorry about that!

Please come on over to Just Us Girls and join us for Photo Week, the team and our guest Michele have done an amazing job!  Thanks for being with us this month Michele…we have enjoyed it and hope you have too!  The card was made with stamps/dies from Verve. The larger leaf die is from SU???…..but don’t hold me to it!

Take care and happy crafting, Nanc’

Love From Me Digi

dsc_0100

dsc_0101

mojo483Hello Friends,  I have been eyeing this sketch over at Mojo Monday and  finally found sometime to play along.  In addition, Julee Tilman from Verve has so graciously once again created a FREE digi set for us to use! You can find it HERE!  It’s till available for a few more days, so you must go and get it before it’s to late!  She also has a Love From Me challenge and giveaway going on with her digi set over at the Verve BlogI fell in love with the sentiment that I used on both of my cards instantly! It made a perfect Valentine for my hubby, since he is indeed my best friend.  I just have to decide which one I am going to give to him, probably the one with the paintbrush.  I combined her free set with some Stampin Up paper and oval and circle stitched dies, a MFT stitched heart die and scalloped border die, my favorite Verve heart border die, and two stamp sets called Positive Strokes and I Heart Art from Paper Smooches.  I cut two heart border dies one back and one white for the second card and glued back in the white hearts so as not to see all the paper and such behind the openings. I paper pieced the paintbrush.

I sure hope you will swing on by the blogs that I have linked up for you and take advantage of Julee’s kindness. Thanks so very much Julee, I will be using the digi again soon!  Take care, Nanc’

You Touched My Heart

dsc_0072

screen-shot-2017-01-07-at-6-58-34-pmHello Friends,  Vicki is hosting over at Just Us Girls and she has a perfect Trend for us this week.  Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner it was perfect time to incorporate Hearts on our cards and or projects.  I just love the look of Inlay Die-cutting, so that is what I decided to do with this challenge. The paper is from SU, the Hearts are from MFT and the sentiment is from Verve. I think I will definitely be doing this again. It’s almost like I made my own cover plate.

Have a fabulous day and you MUST come by and see what the team and our Guest Michelle have done! Take care, Nanc’

Hearts and Flowers

dsc_0067

My friend Judy is hosting over at The Mod Squad, and as soon as I saw her challenge I just knew I had to find sometime to play along. She has asked us to incorporate hearts and or flowers on our card and or project. Then I went searching for a bit more inspiration and I came across this great quilt over at The Fusion Card Challenge.  Finally, I also realized that The Paper Players was having a Valentine challenge and the search stopped there.  I snuck into my craft room before the Football Game (that ended poorly…I might add…what can I say I always root for the under-dog) and in between loads of laundry on Sunday, this is what I did.  I decided to take my MFT Stitched Heart dies and lay them over some of the hearts from the MFT Heart cover plate die. Then I incorporated some MFT Stitched flowers in my design.  The sentiment is something I have had for quite a while and it’s from Inkadinkado.  I thought this would make a nice Valentine’s day card. The Dp I used is a pack from Stampin Up that I really love!

Word Week- Dogs

dsc_0008

screen-shot-2017-01-07-at-6-54-33-pmHello Friends,  It’s the weekend….Woohooooo! That also means it’s time for a new challenge over at Just Us Girls.  The Word we have for you this week is Dogs!  I only have a few dog stamps and this is one of my all time favorites. It’s from Crafter’s Companion.  I again colored him with my Prisma Colored Pencils and decided to leave it as a one layer card. I added the patch of grass for him to balance on.  The sentiment is from MFT.

So break out those puppy dogs and come on over to Just Us Girls and join us! While you are there you can help me in welcoming our new Guest Designer Michele Greenwood.  Welcome Michelle…we are glad to have you!   Happy Crafting, Nanc’

Try a Little Felt

dsc_0011

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  We have a fun Topping option for the next two weeks over at Seize the Birthday!  Out topping is to add felt to your card and or project.  This was a first time I have ever cut felt with a die cut before and I am in love with how well it worked with my MFT dies and my Sizzix machine.  I have had this felt in my cabinet for years, (NBUS) and thrilled that I didn’t have to run out and get any.  Cause you know…you run to the craft store for one thing and you come out with TEN! LOL  Just look at those balloons …aren’t they super cute?  As I warned you, I can’t get over my crush on these NEW Adorable Elephants from MFT.  Swoon!  This little guy was again colored with my Prisma Colored Pencils.  The background heart cover plate and the grass is also MFT.  The sentiment is part of the elephant stamp set as well. The scalloped circle is Spellbinders and the Stitched circle is SU.

I hope you will consider coming on over to Seize the Birthday to see what my fantastic teammates and Guest have done with their felt, and while you are there you will have a go at it yourself!

button-aqua-use-this-theAlso, you have to run on over to Darnell’s Blog and see what this fantastic, crafty and sweet of a lady has done with Bubble Wrap! Amazing! Take care, Nanc’
