Vellum at STB!

Hello Friends,  We have a fun topping starting today over at Seize the Birthday and that is to use Vellum on your card and or project! Easy huh?  I first want to clarify that this card was not my original idea!  Below is the GORGEOUS card I CASED! I can’t find the original post!  I know it’s from someone I follow regularly.  Looks like a Laurie Schmidlin card from Just Give Me Stamps if you ask me, but I can’t be certain! Heavy sigh!  Any hoozal…life must go on! My card is for a dear friend of mine that is turning 80 very soon. The stitched rectangle, banner dies, flowers, and floral leaf are all from MFT. The bow is from Paper Smooches and the vellum tag was cut with my SU tag punch and scalloped with my Fiskars victorian blade. The Happy Birthday that I divided is from Verve. Such a quick and fun card to put together.  I think before I stick it in the mail it needs some bling!

Have a great day and please come and join us at Seize the Birthday…my teammates and Surprise Party Guest Anita did a fabulous job! Happy Stamping! Nanc’

Praying for you my friend….

Hello,  I have a super quick post for you today!  I saw this GREAT color combo over at Just Add Ink and wanted to see if I could put something together for a dear co-worker that is having a terrible time. I let my fingers do the walking through Pinterest and decided to come up with something similar to Kay Miller’s card below…isn’t it gorgeous?  Not overly happy with my pink flowers, as I started off watercoloring them and then decided to go over it with prisma colored pencil. It will have to do! The flowers and leaves are from Altenew and the sentiment is Verve.  Have a wonderful day! Nanc’

Keep Calm and Drink Coffee!

Hello Friends, I am going to sneak in a quick post this evening just hours before this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch comes to a close.  I just recently got this great Coffee stamp set and two die cuts from Verve and I couldn’t wait to use them for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I doubled the Coffee die for some depth and cut the sentiment in half to help stay with the sketch.  Not only is this set simply awesome, but Julee the owner of Verve sent me these pieces of Designer Paper with my order too. Love them! Thanks Julee! You will be seeing another card made with these great papers very soon. This card is rather simple and I felt it needed something else, but I just decided to leave it be before I ruined it. Sometimes too much is too much! Ya know what I mean?

Now go check out the Verve products that I have linked up for you,  they happen to be on SALE!  Hugs, Nanc’

You’re My Cup of Tea!

Hello Friends,  What a glorious week we have had weather wise for Spring Break!  It has been simply Amazing…the weather and the time off!  Everyday, hubby and I have done something out of the ordinary and special so it’s made for a great week!  It all started last weekend when we went down to Naples for a couple of days.  My good friend and fellow DT member at STB- Barbara Campbell and her hubby spend their winters here in Florida, and Barb (my Birthday sister) and I make it a yearly tradition to see one another.  This year we ended are fabulous day of breakfast and craft shopping with a fantastic dinner, where we included our Hubbies too!  We all hit it off so well and had a terrific time!  Barb’s hubby Tom is as sweet as he can be, just like her!  Can’t wait till next year when we get to do it again. Here is a pic of all of us together.

Now a bit about my card! Over at Just Us Girls it’s Photo Week and that is where the inspiration for my card came to be.  The stamps are all from Verve except for the script background.  I found a piece of that butterfly paper and thought it worked out well. I fussy cut my tea pot, then tried to cut out a butterfly to put on the tea pot, but it just didn’t look right, so I went with a flower instead.

I am also going to be linking up my card over at the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  The have over 60 sponsors! Yes I said 60+!  BTW you are allowed to link up TEA and Hot Cocoa cards too! You have to go and check it out!

Thanks for coming by and checkin on me!  I am off to Pre-season B-Ball game this afternoon.  Better go lather up in sun screen! HUGS! Nanc’

Black and White and One more Color.

Hello Friends, It’s the middle of March (Yikes) or time for March Madness, according to hubster, and also time for another challenge at Seize the Birthday.  Today’s topping is Black and White and ONE more color.  I chose to use Kraft as my other color, as I was in need of a Masculine 60th Birthday card for my Brother-in-law.  I am really enjoying this new SU set- Lift Me Up, as you might have noticed! The card that inspired me is HERE!  The team and I would love for you to join us at STB for this fun challenge and you must come on over and see what the team and our guest Anita selected as their pop of color!  Hope to see you there!

Spring Break starts today for me at 3:30!  Yipeeeeeee!  Nanc’

Stencils @ JUGS!

Hello Friends, Maria over at Just Us Girls has a very easy word for us this week.  The word is Stencils. I don’t know about you, but I have a slew of them and am always looking to buy more.  This sun beam stencil I have used on my card today is a must have if you ask me!  Mine happens to be from My Favorite Things however, there are many different variations of them out there. You should try and get one too. I decided to ink mine up on watercolor paper. The rest of my card was made with SU’s new set Lift Me Up.  I just adore this hot air balloon die. What is so cool about this stamp and die cut set is that it has so many pieces. Just take a look at it below! I love the fact that the background of the ballon can be made with so many different shades of paper and cut out individually.  I did just that on my card above.  Thanks for coming by today and checking in with me!  It makes my day when you visit.  Please come by and visit Just Us Girls this week and see what my talented team and guest Nancy have done, and while you are there….join us!  I have a good stampin’ friend that is battling bone cancer and I hope this cheers her up a bit.

Take care, Nanc’

Geometric @ JUGS!

dsc_0130

screen-shot-2017-02-03-at-4-30-14-pmHello Friends,  We have a fun word for you this week over at Just Us Girls.  The word is so unusual and really caused me to think. The word is Geometric.  I was rather puzzled, so I decided to hit up Pinterest to see if I could find a card to CASE, and HERE it is.   The Thanks die is from Savvy and the U is an alphabet set I have from Sizzix. I thought it needed one more element so I decided to add the sparkly silver strip along the edge and the punched heart in the same SU paper. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Guest Designer for this month… Nancy Salkeld!  We are so glad to have you with us!

Please come on over to JUGS and check out what my fabulous team and our guest Nancy have done!  Take care, Nanc’

STB Anything GoesHello my faithful followers and friends, It’s time for our monthly Anything Goes with No Topping @ Seize the Birthday!  I decided it was time to get out my Favorite Paper Smooches stamp set (Positive Strokes) and Painter’s Palette die ( also Paper Smooches) and get to work. I paired them up with a birthday die and scalloped stitched rectangle die from MFT.  The bold Happy is from Neat and Tangled.  This card was so much fun to put together. I sure hope you will join us at STB sometime during the next two weeks!  All you have to do is make it a Birthday Card!  Easy Peesy right? While your over at STB… check out the DT creations and our New Surprise Party Guest Anita Bowden. Welcome Anita!! She will be with us the next two months!
