Something Old/ Something New

Hello Friends, It’s Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has selected a fun and easy challenge for us! All you have to do is to use Something Old and or Something New on your card and or project. I have done both…sort of! My stamp set is very Old as I have had it for YEARS and it’s New as it has never had INK on it until now. Now that I think about it, the sentiment is New as well as I have never used it before.

Feel Better Soon!

Hello Friends, It’s Photo Week at Just Us Girls and I only had a bit of time to whip something up for this challenge. I didn’t have any watermelon stamps or card stock so I decided to base my card on the colors and clouds instead. I can’t say I love it, but we can’t love them all can we? I wanted a soft background to mimic the sky in the photo and the green is the rind of the watermelon. I then decided to throw some water on the Oxide inks as well. I think I got a little heavy with my drops. LOL

Splatter at STB!

Hello Friends, Hope you are having a great day so far! I had such a great time making this card with some of my favorite stamp sets. I had the PI girl colored with colored pencil for quite sometime and I am so glad I waited till after I got my Oxide Inks to put the card together. My new inks matched perfectly with the colors I had chosen to color her with. Love when that happens…don’t you? This card is for our challenge over at Seize the Birthday for the next two weeks. The topping I chose this time around is Splatter! It’s such a fun technique that generally gives such great results! I feel like it kicks up the card a notch or two. Of course after I made my splats, I remembered I had a punch that might be fun to use as well and then that is how the paint brush came to be. The perfectly uniformed round spots were made from a stamp from Gina K.

Twins!

Hello Friends, Hope you are having a great day! I needed a baby card for a friend who’s daughter was having Twins so I combined that need with our Color Week at JUGS, where I happen to be hosting for the second week in a row! There is so much I adore about this card; Polka Dots, stitched stars and elephants! How can it get any better! This adorable elephant is from Verve! He is one of my all time favorite go to stamps for Baby cards!

Hello Friends, I desperately needed to make some cards for the store and I needed some inspiration, so I stopped by Color Throwdown and their colors was just what I needed to get inspired. I promise you this card is indeed dark pink and not red as it appears. In fact the card stock is from Stampin Up and is called Melon Mambo. Red, White and You!

Hello Friends, I just got back from a fabulous vacation in Colorado and I am already trying to figure out where we are going for our next big trip. We are going to Seattle and Victoria Canada in a couple of weeks as well, and I can’t wait! It’s been way to long since I hugged my boy! I am really getting spoiled this summer! Okay, onto the real reason you stopped by. Over at Seize the Birthday our next Topping is Red, White and You. I thought it was appropriate since we just finished up our Independence Day celebration here in the U.S. a few days ago. The YOU part of the challenge means the Color of your choice. As you can see in the photo I chose Black as my third color. I made this card for my future Daughter in Law’s Birthday last month and I hope she liked it. You have to read it correctly…SMILE…It’s your Birthday…It’s your Birthday. Not sure you understand where I am coming from with that since we have no audio…but she did. LOL

A Different Look…

Hello Friends, If today’s card looks similar to you it’s because it is in fact similar to one I posted a few months ago. I was in the need for a belated Graduation card so I decided to CASE myself. HERE is the original one if you are curious. I like this one a tad better. It also so happens to fit the challenge over at The Paper Players this week so a win win for me.

Our 400th Challenge at JUGS!

Hello Friends, Over at Just Us Girls we are CELEBRATING our 400th CHALLENGE! Is that an accomplishment or what! I wasn’t fortunate enough to be on the Design Team from the beginning, but I sure was playing along with them way back when! In fact, JUGS played an intricate part to this card making journey I am on, and for that I am so very grateful! I also want to take a minute to welcome Aileen Ryan our new Guest this month. We are very glad to have you with us! What a great week to be joining us!

In other NEWS…Chris one of our DT members is stepping down from the team and we want to say good bye and good luck! I will miss you Chris and wish you all the best in where ever your life takes you! Don’t be a stranger! With that being said, we are excited to have Angie Cimbalo joining our team! Angie has been been a participant in our challenges, and a previous Guest Designer, and we are thrilled to have her joining the JUGS Team! Please stop by her blog and say congrats to her!
