Hello, Although we don’t quite have Autumn here in Florida and the temps are still in the 90’s, it didn’t stop me from making a couple of Autumn theme cards over the weekend. One is made of the colors you would traditionally expect, and the other one …not so much. I love how they both turned out!
I am linking up these cards to two different challenges. The first one is The Twofer Card Challenge which I am totally thrilled not to miss out on this month, and the other one is The Color Throwdown, which I have been following since its inception.
The stamps I used for these cards are from Verve, with an exception of the larger leaf on the autumn colored card, who knows where that one came from, but it’s a keeper. On both cards, I heat embossed the leaves with either white, silver, gold or red. On the fall colored card, I used my oxide inks to blend the background. The leaf punch is from SU and dry embossed, and the tag and wonky rectangles are from MFT. I splattered some white paint to help hide some of my stray embossing powder on the black card. Finally, I got to use my new Rectangles with the rounded corners from MFT. I just love those patterned leaves from Verve, and I knew they would make a fun fall card. The black card is so very shimmery in real life! If you have any other questions…let me know!
Hope you have a really awesome week! Nanc’

I love the unexpected, Nancy, so the black card is my favorite. Both look great with those patterned leaves.

Two beautiful autumn themed cards Nancy. The traditional colours are so pretty and I love the two popped up leaves to add dimension. The second is very cool and has a modern twist with the colour combination. Awesome designs! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge!

Wow! These are both over the top amazing. I love them both and they are so different. You really rocked this challenge. Someday, maybe soon, I will give this a try.

And we’re totally thrilled to see you play, Nancy! These are both spectacular autumn designs! Your blending on the traditional fall card is sensational and I can just imagine all the glimmer on your rich second card! Thanks for the great tip to add purposeful splatters to a design with stray e/p and thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #10! Hugs, Darnell

These patterned leaves are really fun, Nancy! The look fantastic in fall colors or in shimmery metallics on black! Will have to remember your trick with the splatters – very useful! Two gorgeous cards!
Wonderful to see you in the Twofer gallery!

Two great Twofer cards. I love the rich colours of the first one and the non-traditional colours worked really well on the second. xx
