Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

You’re On My Mind and Hello!

Hello, And Happy Day to you! I have TWO cards for you today for TWO different challenges!

The first card is for this week over at Just Us Girls.    Vicki has a trend for you that is so much fun to do.  It’s the emboss resist technique. I have this great paper that I have been scarcely using from SU that I decided to use this week. It resists ink! I just love it! I used a mix of companies on this card, as I rarely do…LOL.  The oval is SU, the gorgeous vine and flowers and scalloped rectangle are MFT, and the sentiment is Verve.

The next card is also using the Embossed resist technique along with a stencil for the NEW CAS Stencil Challenge that I am really excited about. I have so many stencils that get ignored, and now I have a reason to use them.  I used a MFT stencil and my Oxide Inks, a Papertrey Ink Stamp set, and my MFT wonky rectangles. Added some sequins and I was done.

Please join us at JUGS this week and check out what my fabulous teammates and Two Guest Designers have done with this challenge and while you are hopping around, go check out the New CAS Stencil Challenge!

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

  1. These are both fantastic! I especially love that first one with the perfectly blended, soft background. Beautiful design! Your feather is so pretty, too and I love it against that stenciled layer.

  2. Wow! These are amazing and I love the soft colors going to the bright gold and then how you reversed the colors on the flowers. Really an elegant card. The quick on that you did with the feather is foxy and beauteous. Love them both.

  3. Beautiful cards. Love the colors with the ink blending on the first card, and also the feather on the 2nd card. Pretty flowers on that oval die cut. I agree with Barb, an elegant card. Great use of the stencil also. I have stencils that I need to play with. TFS

  4. Looks like a yellow and green Spring-y theme going on here, Nancy. The ink blending on your JUGS card is wonderful and sets off those flowers beautifully. I’m with you on challenging us to use our stencils more. Yours looks great with the colorful feather.

  5. So pretty and colorful! Love your floral card and the feather one is awesome too! So perfect with the colors you used! I agree with you on the stencils too!

  6. Swooning over the two versions of flourishes on your cards and the oh-so-pretty palettes you’ve chosen! Flowers and feathers: absolutely marvelous! A duo of delight and inspiration!
Apologies for not visiting last week; the plate-of-life was heaped a bit too high!

  7. Your cards are both so beautiful and filled with spring like colors.

  8. Two lovely designs here Nancy! Your feather is so pretty layered over your stenciling on the 2nd card – thanks for joining us in the CAS Stencil challenge! xx

  9. 2 gorgeous cards Nancy, love the Spring colours and the softness of the stencilled backgrounds. The white embossing really pops on your 2nd card, Tahnkyou for playing along at CAS Stencil 🙂 Cathy x

  10. Both cards are simply gorgeous Nancy. Love the layout and blending for the emboss resist for the first one. Really beautiful! Your feather is so lovely in front of the sponged stenciling.

  11. Fabulous! Love the sponged bg and then the embossing — very pretty

  12. These are gorgeous cards, Nanc! I’ve just slapped my forehead because I have that er paper from SU and forgot all about it! Thank you for the reminder and this sensational inspiration for using it! Pinning! And your stenciled feather design is a lovely springtime hello!! Hugs, Darnell

  13. Two beautiful cards Nancy! Emboss Resist is always so amazing and you’ve make it shine here.
