Congratulations… on your Retirement

Hello, as you can see I found another nautically inspired challenge site to play along with this week. This card is for Time Out Challenges. I found the perfect DP-by Kaiser Craft to use along with my SU-Nautical stamp set to complete it.  This was so quick, but I like the way it came together.  The card is going to a person that in fact sails, so hopefully he will love it and get a kick out of my sailor’s knot.

Thanks for your visits…they are so appreciated.

The Struggle was Real…

Hello,  Let me just say that the struggle was real for this photo challenge over at Just Us Girls.  I wanted to think outside the box and do something not using my cute MFT elephant. I wanted to make something more realistic like the photo. I found an old child’s stencil with an elephant on it and tried some various techniques. Well, let me just say that two other cards got filed in the circular file and one was completely finished but I still couldn’t share it with you.  It was really awful! Anyways, we all have those days, don’t we? The leaves are supposed to represent the yellow flowers in the photo. I should have added a bazillion.  Also, A big thanks to Emma our fabulous guest this month!

Please join us at JUGS this week and take some advice, go with your first instinct…it will save you some time. Nanc’

Card details: Most products are MFT-Cloud die, elephant, and leaves. Oxide inks for the background and colored pencil. The sentiment is Verve.

Pastels @ The Flower Challenge

Hello,  I have been really taking advantage of the heat this summer by playing in my studio where it’s cool and comfortable .;) It’s been a scorcher, to say the least. I have no desire to even go to the beach during the day, only late-night walks for this girl.  The card I have for you today is for The Flower Challenge and its challenge is to use Pretty Pastels.  I hope they consider peach as a pastel color…I do.

I have a friend whose 32-year-old daughter has breast cancer and this card is for her.  Dave and I have known this family for quite some time, and in fact, Dave taught Sarah when she was in Elementary School.  I hope this card brings a smile to her face and lets her know that others are thinking and praying for her.  And here I am whining about the heat! 😦  I still had three flowers that were already watercolored on my desk that I really wanted to use and that’s where I started for this card.  Then the flowers needed some leaves, so I decided to go a different route and make some yellow ones.

Details: Flowers / leaves-Stampendous, Hugs die-Paper Smooches, enamel dots-SU, and MFT-Stitched Rectangles

Today I chose to be grateful and hopeful, Nanc’

All Things Nautical

Hi, Over at Addicted to Stamps and More they have a nautical picture for us to be inspired by.  I love making nautical cards, so I knew right away I would be playing along. This card was easy and fun to do.

Have a wonderful day, Nanc’

Garden @ The Twofer Challenge

Hello,  I finally finished my cards for the Twofer Challenge. I did have to go the more conventional route this time with my cards, as the stamp is so large and beautiful I couldn’t think of another way to showcase it that wouldn’t lose its appeal. Anyways,  I decided to cut apart one of my finished pieces to make it more of a tile look and lift two of the panels with fun foam. Then I distressed the edges. I am super pleased with how it came out.  For the second card, I went with traditional coloring.  I stamped the sentiment crooked (of course I did) after I was done coloring, so had to add the additional layer.  The beautiful stamp is perfect for this word this month. If I had a beautiful garden, rest assured, it would have an old fashioned watering can like this one.  The stamp is one of my all-time favorites and is from Northwoods stamps. The two sentiments are from Verve and I used Prisma Colored pencils.  Below are a few more pics.

I am so glad you came by!

Happy crafting, Nanc’

Wedding Wishes

Hi, I have a very CAS and easy card for the Less is More Challenge today.  The word they have is Celebrations! The store that I sell my cards in needed more wedding cards, so I whipped a few of these up yesterday. That rose die is just so pretty…don’t you think?

All products are SU.

Thanks for stopping in! Nanc’

Rainbow…

YES, I know this card looks quite similar to the last card I posted for Seize the Birthday.  I thought about not posting it and trying again, but then I thought what the heck… I like it…so post it!  So HERE it is!  Although, last time our topping was Sunshine and this time the topping is Rainbows, so they are different. LOL All the diecuts including the three white scallops at the base of the card ( that you can hardly see) are all from MFT. The only thing that is not, is the sentiment! That is my go-to from Verve. I hadn’t used my buttons in forever so it was good to find them again.

You must pop on over to STB and check out all the rainbow of color!  They are all so pretty and oh so different!  While you are there give our guest Su Mohr some love.

Take care, Nanc’

Birthday Bouquet!

Today I have a Birthday card for the CAS Watercolour Challenge where they are asking us to make a Bouquet of flowers in Darnell’s honor. I couldn’t pass this challenge up, as I just adore Darnell to pieces. Happy Belated Birthday Darnell!  I always feel like I am cheating when I heat emboss my watercolor piece, but so far that is all I have confidence in doing.  Maybe someday I will try my hand at no-line watercolouring.

Card details:  The images are from Stampendous and colored with Catherine Pooler and SU inks. Rectangles are SU and so are the enamel dots.

Have a fabulously creative day, Nanc’

Feel Better Soon

Hello,  I have a quick post for you today for the new Color Challenge starting over at The Paper Players. Not sure what possessed me to photograph it on such a busy piece of paper. LOL  I just love this resist paper from SU that I used for the background.  I use it very sparingly, as I like it so much and don’t want to run out any time soon. I don’t know why they don’t stock it continuously. It’s so beautiful and quick and works so well with Oxide Inks. My green is a bit softer than the challenge color, so hopefully that is alright.

Card Details: Paper -SU, sentiment-Verve, flowers, leafy swirl, and scalloped rectangles are-MFT.

Have a wonderful day, Nanc’
