Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

You Inspire Me!

Hello, I hope this post finds you well during these trying times in our life.  Today over at Just Us Girls we have a color challenge beginning.  This isn’t the card I intended on posting for this challenge, but luckily I made another one yesterday (not realizing at all) that it was in the same color pallet of our challenge starting today.  Anyways, you see my computer crashed and I took it in to be repaired and my other card is on that computer.  I sent it to myself via email, and now can’t find it on hubby’s computer. So here is card number two!  I feel silly even explaining this to you when there are real problems we are facing.  I wish I could drive to California and retrieve my family and bring them here!  This is seriously getting real folks!

I hope in the midst of all this uncertain times, if you feel like crafting you will consider playing along with us at Just Us Girls.

These cards were fun to create and let me escape the real world for a bit. I made my own stencil using a VERVE leaf.  I found this gold shimmery gel in my studio closet and it worked perfectly!  The background was first sponged with Oxide Ink.  The inspire die is by Penny Black, the flower and YOU are MFT, and the Me So Much is from SU.  The little flowers were also sponged with the gold gel.

Here is a pic of the background and the stencil gel I stumbled upon.

Here is my second card!

Hugs to each one of you and hope to see you in our gallery at JUGS!  Nanc’

  1. Great cards and I love the stenciling.

  2. Way to get creative with your crafting, Nancy. Making your own stencil was a great idea and what a lucky find to be able to use that gorgeous gel through it. I love the reverse colorways. Keep your chin up. You inspire me every day.

  3. So pretty and I love your stencil idea with that sweet looking gel…sorry about your computer, but then you wouldn’t have made this beauty!!! Hugs to you and your family!

  4. Pretty “ghosting” look background

  5. Both cards are so lovely Nancy. So soft and pretty with that home made stencil. Hope the ‘Doctor’ can fix your computer. How we rely on them so much.

  6. Lovely card! I love that shimmer from that product you used. Amazing the things we find that we didn’t remember we had! Both cards are so pretty! I’m sure your family in California will be fine. They are smart and will follow guidelines provided. Here in NY the numbers are increasing and we are staying home.

  7. This is fabulous! I love those shimmery leaves and how cool that you made your own stencil and found that amazing gel in your stash! I know what you mean about wanting to scoop up your son and daughter-in-law, I so wish my kids and grandkids were here with me so I could make sure that they are all ok. Hugs and hand in there!
