Hello, Today’s CAS card is the third attempt at an entry for the CAS Mix Up challenge. The other two cards ( that I like better) ended up with so many added elements and layers that they were no way going to fit in those guidelines of CAS anymore. All is good, as I know I will use them for upcoming challenges for Seize the Birthday…so time well spent. CAS is so hard for me… am I alone? Over at CAS Mix it up they want us to use Gesso on our project. I started off by getting out many different stencils and made quite a few backgrounds for future use. It is a fun process. Below is my panel I chose for this card, before I added Oxide ink. Everything I used is from MFT except the sentiment is Verve! I am really enjoying this die cut palm tree a lot! My other choice option for this challenge was die-cuts.
Thanks for the visit, Nanc’

I have a feeling a lot of us are going to remember this technique, Nancy. There are so many things you can do with it like your beautiful sunshine.

I love the bright yellow on your scene and it makes it so cheery too!

Well done, Nanc’! What a great stencil to use for this and I love the way you used that die to cut your panel behind the graceful palm tree! (And is that a lipstick plant I see in the background?) Take care and lay low!! Hugs, Darnell

Fabulous sunny panel and the palm tree is the perfect element! I love how well the gesso works with the Distress Oxide. Thanks so much for joining in at CAS Mix Up:)

I love your sunshine design ….. great results from the gesso resist.
I know exactly what you mean about CAS, it’s not always the easiest style to create!
Thank you for playing along with the CAS Mix Up challenge

a great way to add some cheeriness and brightness to a card. It was simply done and you kept it CAS.
