I just recently fell head over heels in love with Honey Bee Stamps. I know you are probably thinking where have you been Nancy! Better late than never as the saying goes. I have been making some really fun summer cards with their Flippin Fabulous set and I can still do that since it is hotter than the dickens here in Florida still. I am not quite ready to break out the fall cards as of yet, so I embraced fall colors with a beachy card instead. I have the matching die for the Flip Flops but I thought it might be fun to stamp them right on the background for a fun ombre effect. And I must say, I am pretty happy with it. All except my brown starfish that is. My piece of cardstock in the background is brown too. It almost looks black in the photo.
I am playing with the great Fall colors over at The Color Throwdown. I inked my background using Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, and Fired Brick Oxide Inks. I colored the straps of the flip flops with Copics and then I used a colored pencil to cast a shadow. I covered the straps of the flip flops with Crystal Effects. The yellow ferns are from Stampin Up. The rest of the shells and sentiments are from the same Honey Bee set. I added a little sand texture with a SU stamp.
I am going to Ink this card up over at Darnell’s NBUS too.
I sure appreciate you stopping by and all of your encouraging comments! Nanc’

I am so ready for fall with its cool temps, maybe some rain, leaves turning color, but I can appreciate those who love to have summer last and last! One of my sisters is like that. She’s always cold, so she hates that cooler weather is already starting where she is. I love that you made a beach card using fall colors! It doesn’t look odd because you’ve created such beautiful ombre sunset blending! And I love how you stamped those amazing flip flops over the blending! Thank you so much for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell

I love your inked background, Nancy. Great arrangement with all the beachy images. I wish it was still hot here.
