Hello, I was getting short on time and was wondering if I would be able to find the time to join in the Twofer Challenge this month, but thank goodness I had some time today (thanks to the hubster for taking care of my dad today for me). Love him so! I usually don’t miss this great challenge if I can help it.
Card Number 1-I had the MFT Palm Tree not yet put away on my table in my studio and thought why not use Palm Trees! I mean I do live in Florida for goodness sake! I have been wanting to get out my Alcohol Inks out and make some sunset backgrounds so that is what I did. I actually made 5 panels while I was getting messy. I decided a black palm tree and beach might do the trick. The birthday sentiment for this card is from Verve. The bird die is from Memory Box.
Card Number 2– I have been a bit chicken to color my sweet little Hula Girl from Polynesian Paradise- also MFT, and today I decided to go for it. How do I expect to get good at coloring people without actually coloring them? LOL She isn’t too bad for the first time. The rest of the stamps and sentiment are all from this MFT set. I thought the DP kinda looked like tiny surf boards and wasn’t sure it would work, but I kinda like it. I used Copics and Colored Pencil.
Here is a picture of one of the cards by itself. I am entering it in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week. Using the bottom row of Diecuts-Add a Sentiment-Kraft.
I hope you are staying safe and trying to enjoy life the best you can, Nanc’

Two FABULOUS cards Nancy! I am SO impressed by your AI background on your 1st card…my colors go every which direction and yours looks like you had total control where they all went! And what a perfect background for your silhouetted Palm tree…lovely, lovely card! Your 2nd card just couldn’t be any sweeter and I think you colored the little girls just beautifully!! Thanks so much for sharing both these beauties with us at The Twofer Challenge!! Hugs. :0)

Two gorgeous cards! I too am blown away by the beautiful alcohol ink background. Your hula girl looks terrific – I tend to shy away from people (images) 😉 too.

Your cards are both wonderful. Palm trees worked great for your Twofers.

Your palm tree is refreshing, Nanc’! I love the sunset/rainbow alcoholic coloring of our background for your great silhouette birthday scene, as well as your more traditional tropical scene for your floral hello card design! I think your coloring is just right, even on the pretty little hula dancer. That pp is terrific and I love that you included a pineapple! Thank you so much for your support and for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #31! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell

Love them both! So impressed with the alcohol ink background. I’ve only played with alcohol inks once and it was hardly what I’d consider a success. The silhouetted palm tree is perfect for it. You did a wonderful job coloring the little Hula girl, and the pretty flowers and pineapple are great embellishments for her. We were due to leave for a long vacation in Hawaii in March just as the pandemic hit–I bet I would have seen her on the beach if I’d gotten there!

That background of ink blending is so artistic and beguiling. So glad that you tried the coloring on the girl. The shading is great on her skin and you are so right that it just takes practice.

Both cards are fabulous! The first one is dreamy and the second one whimsical…so great that you can create both! Your little hula girl looks perfectly fine…your coloring is wonderful! I think the background looks like surfboards too! So happy you shared this with us at Tic Tac Toe this week!

Wow, Nancy. These are great! Your control of the AI to make a sunset is sensational. I have the Polynesian Paradise set and I’m not sure I’ve colored the girl – for the same reasons you mentioned. You did a great job with her and the beach she’s visiting.

Both cards are spectacular Nancy! I think your hula girl looks just fine, although I know what you mean about practice needed for coloring skin tones. Super cute card design with the surfboard background and beach scene! Thanks for sharing with us at the Tic Tac Toe challenge!
