Hello, I am here today to bring you my card for the next pair of color at Color Hues. It is our 5th challenge already…where does the time go?
The flower image I have for you today is a digi from Power Poppy. I have been wanting to print and color this blossom for quite some time but was waiting till I finally bought a laser printer to do so. Now, hubby and I are wondering why we didn’t do it eons ago. It prints like a dream and the ink doesn’t dry out!! My friend Barb got me interested in the images over at Power Poppy where she is a DT member. If you haven’t checked out their site or her site you should. I have linked them both up for you.
After I was done coloring my Cherry Blossom with Copics I just wasn’t happy with the stark white background and decided to turn it into a tag. That helped some, but not enough. So I decided to do the dot trick with Copics that you have seen me use before. Now I love it! I used some twine, sequins, and a fabulous sentiment from Stampin Up to finish it off. The fun DP is from Stampin Up too and I just love it!
Please come over to Color Hues and check out what the team and our guest JoAnn have done with the colors. You won’t be disappointed, I guarantee it!
Take care, Nanc’

The dot technique really outlines your pretty flowers beautifully, Nancy. The patterned paper works well with the flowers and each other. Wonderful card!

I recognized this spray of Cherry Blossoms immediately! You have colored them perfectly and they look amazing I really like how you have them a “Pop” with the pointillism. I love that you went outside of the box with that color kraft. I am tickled that you now have a laser printer. Thanks, my friend for the mention of my blog.

This is wonderful! I’ve never tried the dot technique, but it’s clearly something I need to put in my tool bag. Those flowers are gorgeous, and the tag just pops over the polka-dot background! Off to check out Poppy Power.

Beautiful card. Your blossom branch is colored so pretty and the addition of the “dot” technique makes it pop. The yellow/white polka dot background is perfect with it.
