Season’s Greetings

Hello, I hope you are doing well and managed to enjoy your Christmas despite the difficult year we have all had. Mine was very nice and I feel very blessed to say the least!! Our son and daughter in law are still here for a few more days. I will be a big pile of mush when they have to leave. Anyhoo, I stumbled upon a Christmas card that I had not yet shared and it was one of my favorites. I was inspired by my friend Linda Snodgrass’s card that she sent me last year. So this is a case of her beautiful work that I have pictured below. Now that I look at it again I realize I failed to add the stars!

I am linking my card up over at The Card Concept where they asked us to post either a favorite holiday card, our Christmas tree, or favorite decoration. As I mentioned above this is one of my favorite cards I made this year.

Card Details: The Santa sled is from Kitchen Sink Stamps, the rest of the stamps are from Stampin Up, and I used Oxide Inks for my blending and some fine glitter for the water sparkle. Instead of using post-it notes for masking, I used transparencies (which is basically acetate), that way I can wash them off and use them again. Much cheaper too!

I will be back on New Year’s Day with another post or maybe sooner!

Take care and stay well, Nanc’

Christmas Palm Tree

Hello Friends, I am back today to share another fun fold slider card. I can’t get enough of these cards this year. I just adore this palm tree stamp and thought it would work spectacular for the slider part.

I am playing along with the TGIF Challenges where the inspiration is Christmas Trees. I don’t know about you I will take a warm palm tree Christmas over a snowy Christmas any day of the week. Don’t get me wrong I think snow is utterly gorgeous but only for a visit.

I purposely tried to color the starfish to have some texture.
I sponged the background ever so slightly and then Copic Colored.

Card Details: Front palm tree, greeting, starfish, and flip flops are all from the same stamp set from Art Impressions. The smaller palm trees are brand new to me and are from Lawn Fawn, I can’t wait to use them more. I also used…Copics, Oxide Inks, and a bit of colored pencil.

Thanks for checking in on me and I hope you have a wonderful day! I may be back in a day or two with a few more Christmas cards to share…time permitting. Nanc’

Color Hues #8

Hello crafting friends, This is my second post for today so if you scroll down you can see my Exciting News post below!!

Today over at Color Hues we have a new challenge starting. The colors that have been chosen by Hannelie and as you can see above they are Blue and Green. I thought this would make a great Christmas card combo or of course, any type of card will do. This card was inspired by this card here.

Card Details: The Bells, fern dies, and the greeting are all SU. The background stamp is from Stampabilities. I used white paint to splatter the background and the ferns as well. In hindsight, I should have put bows on the bells, but the card is long been mailed.

The design team and our talented guest Stef Perry did an amazing job. Please won’t you come by and check them out and play along?

Take care, Nanc’

Thinking of you at Christmas

Hello, I have another snowglobe Christmas card for you today that is was of my favorites. I was looking at all the Christmas cards I created this year and do you know that it appears that pastels were my thing this year. I didn’t even realize that I opposed the traditional colors so strongly. LOL

I am entering this card over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and have selected the right column; Sparkle Glitter, Stencil, and Snow along with The Paper Players where the theme is Christmas.

Here is a close up of my globe.

I have been using WordPress for 12 years and they are changing the formatting and I am trying to adapt before the New Year starts and they change it for me. So if my post looks a little off today that is why. I am not loving it and hope that my attitude changes as I fumble through it.

Card Details: MFT-stencil, Snowglobe-Lawnfawn, little Santa is Neat and Tangled, greeting is SU.

Thanks for stopping in and please take care, Nanc’

Happy Holidays

Back today with a Christmas card for The Paper Players Challenge. As you can see to the left, the theme is Christmas so that leaves it pretty wide open. I have all my shopping done, and I just need to start wrapping. How about you? Are you finished?   Of course, at the last minute, I usually think of something else I want to get someone. I mailed the remaining Christmas cards out yesterday and that is sooooo early for us. Boy did that feel good. Now that we are both retired, we needed to make the difficult decision to cut the Christmas list back.  Let me put this in perspective for you. This is Hubby’s 34 year of designing his own Christmas card. People talk about his card all the time. In years past we used the in-house courier system to deliver the cards from school to school. Since that is not an option anymore we had to cut the list back. People are going to be heartbroken but mailing them all would be rather expensive. So between the two of us this year…we will be mailing about 115. Dave mailed out 70 to friends and family and I mailed out 45 to cardmaking friends. I also made about 40 for both retail stores.  In the past, we would send out about 180.  So we shaved about 65 off the list this year. It was so hard but necessary.

That was probably more info than you needed. LOL

Card Details: MFT snowflake bulbs and Wonky rectangle die, the snowflakes are from Memory Box and the greeting is from Verve.  I used a little flicker of white paint on my Oxide Inked background.

Hope you have found some time to be creative today, Nanc’

Hugs

Hello, I hope this post finds you well.  The card I have for you today is something other than Christmas. It is for the latest Flower Challenge where they asked us to use embellishments.  I borrowed this gorgeous Altenew hibiscus die from a friend and it was so much fun to piece together. I made quite a few in various colors before returning it to her.

The embossing folder background is from Sizzix. The hugs is from Simon Says Stamps. I believe the clear sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh. The heart is MFT. The leaves are made with a SU punch. This card is a CASE of this lovely card.

Take care, Nanc’
