Happy Holidays

Back today with a Christmas card for The Paper Players Challenge. As you can see to the left, the theme is Christmas so that leaves it pretty wide open. I have all my shopping done, and I just need to start wrapping. How about you? Are you finished?   Of course, at the last minute, I usually think of something else I want to get someone. I mailed the remaining Christmas cards out yesterday and that is sooooo early for us. Boy did that feel good. Now that we are both retired, we needed to make the difficult decision to cut the Christmas list back.  Let me put this in perspective for you. This is Hubby’s 34 year of designing his own Christmas card. People talk about his card all the time. In years past we used the in-house courier system to deliver the cards from school to school. Since that is not an option anymore we had to cut the list back. People are going to be heartbroken but mailing them all would be rather expensive. So between the two of us this year…we will be mailing about 115. Dave mailed out 70 to friends and family and I mailed out 45 to cardmaking friends. I also made about 40 for both retail stores.  In the past, we would send out about 180.  So we shaved about 65 off the list this year. It was so hard but necessary.

That was probably more info than you needed. LOL

Card Details: MFT snowflake bulbs and Wonky rectangle die, the snowflakes are from Memory Box and the greeting is from Verve.  I used a little flicker of white paint on my Oxide Inked background.

Hope you have found some time to be creative today, Nanc’

  1. So very beautiful.

  2. Pretty frosty Christmas card and I do envy your splatters. I am still learning. I was wondering about all of those cards that you send out each year. A wise and prudent thing to do, as mailing is expensive. You got your cards out already??? Another way that I envy you. Merry Merry!

  3. So pretty. Love the purple background and the glittery ornaments. TFS
Merry Christmas to you and family. ((hugs))

  4. Gorgeous card, the background is stunning with the glittery silver ornaments! Mine are mailed out as well, a first for me to have them mailed so early!

  5. A beautiful card! I love that background. Almost all my cards went out on Monday. There are still a few left to make, and the ones that need the family letter (my least favorite job–especially this year when there’s not much to tell!) I made 90 cards this year–our list actually grew, but like yours it needs to be cut down.

  6. Such a gorgeous card, love the background. Purple Christmas cards are my favorite! Thanks for playing with us at The Paper Players!

  7. Beautiful Nancy – I am always partial to purple and your silver baubles look fabulous against the background. You are way more organised than me; I’ve brought all my presents, but nothing wrapped and still have cards to write! I’m sure I’ll get there 😉 Thanks for playing along with my theme challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

  8. Nancy, this is gorgeous! Love the purple and the texture in the background. I love that you and your husband have so much fun creating your handmade holiday cards. So sweet! Thanks so much for joining us this week over at The Paper Players!
