Snowy Background

Hello, We have our first challenge of the New Year starting today at Seize the Birthday! Barbara has selected the topping of a snowy background. I love this topping because it isn’t something I do a lot of and I enjoyed the challenge. Plus it forced me to ink up some cute little critters I have not used before from MFT. The cute little trees are from Altenew and I just love them and I think have only used them three times. I colored the critters with Copics and a bit of colored pencils. I used white paint for my snowfall and the rolling hills are from Lawn Fawn. I used my computer for the greeting. Oh, and I inked the sky with oxide inks.

While I am at it I am going to link up over at NBUS with the lovely Darnell!

I hope you are ready to work on stocking up your Birthday cards for the year and will come join us at Seize the Birthday! That team of mine has some amazing work over there! Please take care, Nanc’

Something New!

Hello, Today is my first challenge as a Guest Designer for 2021 over at The Paper Players. Insert happy dance! If you happened to miss my announcement I have linked it up for you Here! I am over the top excited to be a part of this talented team. For our first challenge of the New Year, LeAnne has asked us to use something new on our card. Well, I don’t know about you but I may have a few new things lying around the craft room that I have yet to use or I just recently purchased. The stamp and dies I chose to use for today’s card are from Stampin Up and have never been used. To my defense, I have only had them two months so not too bad. I have wanted this set from the moment it came out! It stamps beautifully and is called Forever Fern. The designer paper is also from Stampin Up and the greeting is too. This is a fast card with a great reward!

Now, please dust off some stamps that you have yet to use, or maybe break the seal on something you got for Christmas and come and join us at The Paper Players! The team and the two other guests…Debbie and Amanda have some serious eye candy for inspiration to get you started!

For more inspiration, be sure to visit the rest of the Design Team:

Hello!

Hello, I am starting off today with the first challenge of the New Year over at Just Us Girls where I just so happen to be the hostess! It is Word Week and I have the perfect word to welcome the New Year…the word is Hello!

This card was time-consuming but so worth the effort of cutting and stamping all those stems to make a wreath. I just love the way it turned out. I really do love an occasional all die-cut card!

Card Details: The leaves, the Hello, and the flowers are all from MFT. Some gold Nuvo drops for the center of the flowers and randomly placed.

The Just Us Girls team and the TWO Guest designers…Melanie and Carol have some amazing cards over on the blog! Come check them out and play along!

Take care, Nanc’

Love You!

Hello, Happy New Year!! I hope this post finds you healthy and happy. My son, daughter in law, and grand kitty are on their way back to California as I type, and the house is yet again empty. Boohoo! It takes Dave and I a few days to go through our emotions and the letdown but will get there. What choice do we have right? LOL Trying to be thankful for the time we had together not what we are missing or what could be.

Are you as ready as I am for 2021 to begin! All I can say is good riddance 2020! I know things aren’t magically going to get better overnight but we have to have faith that some part of this year will be salvaged and life might return to somewhat normal. I am not sure we will ever go back to 100% the way things were pre-Covid but maybe that is a good thing. Thoughts? Is there anything about staying home and limiting social interaction that you have enjoyed? I think this would make a great conversation. I am up for it if you are!

Now, speaking of New Year! Do you do Resolutions? A few years ago I did manage to give up my one Coke-a-day vice and I haven’t even had one since. Go me!! So I guess some matter of success over the last few decades or so is better than none. LOL I usually don’t do a very good job sticking with these types of things. So, what I do NOW is, I come up with a WORD for the year to live by and to perhaps challenge me. My word this year is going to be…

pro·duc·tive : achieving or producing a significant amount or result.

This can pertain to every aspect of my life. When I was thinking about what I wanted my word to be I kept thinking about all the time I tend to waste in my day and how many things that I want to do especially now that I am retired. I want to travel more, golf more, bake more, craft more, read more, socialize more ( after Covid of course) and the list goes on and on. I don’t know about you but since retirement, I tend to waste the first few hours of the day right after I wake, and that has got to change! Hubby is in complete agreement with this idea so that is going to push me too!

This post was a tad longer than I expected so if you stuck with me….thank you so much!

Now, It is time for our next Hues of colors over at Color Hues! Woohoo!

As you can see the colors this time around are Red and Grey, and my mind went right to Valentine’s Day when I saw Lindsey’s selection. However, my card wouldn’t necessarily have to be for V’Day it could be for any time you want to tell a friend how much you care about them.

Card Details: Heart Die is from Simon Says Stamps, the Love You is from SU, the sweet friend is Gina K. Designs.

Please come on by Color Hues and check out all the fabulous inspiration from the Design Team and our guest Julie! We would love to have you join us too! And once again Happy New Year to all of you! Nanc’
