Hey, Gullfriend!

Hello, Hope your day is off to a good start. It’s Sketch Week at The Paper Players and Ann is our hostess. She has a fun and easy sketch to inspire us. You know I love this seagull stamp set from MFT so I hope you don’t mind seeing him once again. As you may or may not know, I am enthralled with making backgrounds these days and I have another warm weather scene for you. It is perfect beach weather and 80 here, and I think our winter is officially over. Boohoo! I just hope we don’t jump straight to the 90s any time soon.

Card Details: I used two patterned stencils and Oxide inks to make my background. The sun-ray and the wave stencil are from MFT. Along with a Circle stencil made from a piece of acetate to start things off. As I was writing this post and looking at my picture, I realized I never finished coloring my seagull. OOPS! Oh, well!

Come check out what the rest of the talented team did this week,

and I hope you will be inspired to join us!

Thanks-Photo Week

Hello, It’s Photo Week at Just Us Girls hosted by the lovely Sue. I hope she won’t mind but I went in an entirely different direction for my card than the rest of my teammates did this week. I took inspiration from the colors and not from the photo itself. I love the colors and am pretty happy with how quickly my card came together. Before I get to the card details, It is time to say farewell to our Guest Leslie. We have really enjoyed having you tagging along with us and I have enjoyed your cards and sweet comments too. Take care and hope to see you back in the gallery again soon.

Card Details: Stamps’ SU- Forever Fern, DSP- SU, Heart die-MFT and greeting is SU too.

Hope you will run on over to JUGS and check out my teammate’s cards! They did a great job with this photo and you are sure to be inspired!

Take care, Nanc’

Feline Fine

Hi, Over at The Paper Players today we have the cutest challenge for you! LeAnne, has CAS week and her theme is Feline Fine! Is that darling or what?

Card Details: I first got my acetate out and masked off my center panel and sponged it with Oxide Inks. Next, I used my new heart stencils from Honey Bee stamps and white ink and sponged my hearts. The images and greeting are from MFT- and the Ric Rac die is MFT as well. The frame, that reminds me of a Polaroid is a die from a friend. I used Copic as my medium of choice!

Please won’t you join us this week at The Paper Players, the team has done it again with loads of “Feline” inspiration for you to enjoy! Take care of yourselves, Nanc’

Rainbow Colors

Hello, It is time for Color Week over at Just Us Girls and Angie asked us to use Rainbow Colors this time around. This was such a great idea as it leaves your creativity pretty wide open. I may not have gotten every color of the rainbow on my card but I think it is close enough. This stamp set is from Hero Arts and Honey Bee stamps and is called Stronger Together. In order to keep the center of the card white, I had to make a mask. Next, I used a variety of Oxide Inks to make my background. Which I might add is blended poorly. Last, I used my heart stencil from Honey Bee Stamps to finish it off in coordinating colors. The Thanks die is from Savvy.

I am trying to continue to embrace other challenge sites along with my DT commitments as I enjoy them so very much. So, I am going to link this card up over at Double D Challenges where the challenge is Hearts with this photo to inspire us.

Please come on over to Just Us Girls and check out all the rainbow of color from my fellow Design Team members, they really did a fabulous job!

Take care, Nanc’

Balloons

Hello, I hope you are doing well! I have been itching to play along with some of my favorite challenge sites besides my usual Design Team commitments and I had a chance yesterday to make two cards for the Twofer Challenge and AAA Birthday. First, over at the Twofer Darnell has asked us to use Balloons this time around.

I have been reorganizing my studio lately and I came across this alphabet stamp set that I forgot I had. I see a lot of cards in blog-land using large die-cut letters but mine are rather small and I knew these letters just might work for my idea. Of course my WISH card… isn’t a design I came up with. I am sure you have seen something similar a time or two. I also needed some more seagull cards for the store, so you have seen this design in some of my past cards. I get bored making the same card, so I decided to change it up a bit and add the sun and balloons this time. The balloon stamp and die are from SU and don’t get very much love or any for that matter.

These cards were colored and made very quickly as if they are for the stores, they can’t take me two hours to make, it just doesn’t make good business sense.

There is another view of the cards below.

Next, I am linking my WISH card up over at AAA Birthday where they ask for a large sentiment. This is a fun challenge site that has a large following too. You should check it out!

Card Details: Seagull and stencil-MFT, sun-Lawn Fawn, balloon-SU-Blow out the Candles, and Oxide ink, rough coloring.

WISH– Letters are called-Typewriter, birds are MFT, Balloon SU-Blow out the Candles, Plaid-Washi tape

Take care, Nanc’

Create a Scene

Hello, Back again! It has been a busy week for my blog and challenges. Today’s card is for the latest challenge over at Seize the Birthday. Lindsey our DT member, had the fabulous idea of Create a Scene as our topping this time around. I have been making scene cards like this for a few months now for the stores and have not used a birthday greeting and thought this was the perfect challenge to do just that.

Card Details: I used MFT cloud stencil and a heart stencil to start my background. I then masked off the rest to create my water. The water ripples are made with a stamp. You do have to do a lot of thinking and masking and covering when doing these types of scenes. They are never perfect, but that is what makes them handmade. The boat is a die from Impression Obsession. The water and all the birds are from the same SU set called High Tide. The greeting is from the SU-Rose Wonder set.

Come by STB and see what the rest of the team and our guest Carol have done! Such great talent over there!

Take care, Nanc’

Hope you are weathering life right now no matter what is being thrown your way!

Peach and Green

Hello, Hope this post finds you well. It’s time for our next duo of colors at Color Hues. The color combo that the lovely Carol has chosen for all of us is Peach and Green. This was such a fun challenge for me as Peach isn’t something I use very often. I will tell you a funny back story real quick. I was working on this challenge at a friend’s house about a month or so ago and I was so happy with how my card was turning out but had plans to finish it when I got home. Later the next day, I sat down to finish it up and when I was looking at it I realized I was staring at peach and grey. LOL Have you ever done that? Let me just say it’s not the first time. You may just be seeing that combo sometime this year. LOL

Card Details: I have a mix of supplies for today’s card. Surprise surprise. LOL I just love the dotted background die that I just got from Sunny Studios called Frilly Frames Polka Dot. It comes with an outer frame and is actually a lot bigger. I cut it down to fit the size I wanted for my card. The flowers and greeting are from Stampendous, and the flowers are heat embossed and watercolored. The leaves are an old stamp from SU and a coordinating punch. I added the green strips of paper to bring the green back again in the design. A few pop dots for dimension and a few clear Nuvo drops to finish it off.

I sure hope you will consider popping on over to Color Hues and joining us! The team’s cards are much more phenomenal than mine-as always! I am going to have to kick it up a notch if I want to stay on this team. 😉

Take care, Nanc’

Crafty Friends

Hi, I have some more love-themed cards to share with you today and I will also be entering these cards up over at Happy Little Stampers blog where I am determined to play along more often. So much inspiration over there. They have so many various challenges to play along with that you must check out. The one I am playing along with is Anything Goes with Dies.

Here are a few other cards I made in various colors.

Card Details: This is the stamp set I used from Altenew to make my background. Thank goodness for my Misti as it made it so much easier. I linked it up for you above. It is a must-have as far as crafters are concerned IMO.

The sweet little bear is from Ellen Hutson and her sweet bow to turn her into a girl bear is from Paper Smooches. A little chalk to pink up her cheeks and just some real quick outline coloring to give the bear a little life.

Personal: This past week has been filled with one bad news after another. Last Monday was the sudden loss of a dear friend’s hubby and a man my hubby and I have known and hubby worked with nearly his entire career. He collapsed while playing tennis. His wife takes comfort in knowing he didn’t suffer and died doing what he loved. I have another dear friend whose hubby had serious neck surgery this week and is going to have a long road to recovery. The surgery was intense, and I pray it did what it was supposed to do and he will be back to life as he knew it real soon. We have another friend/past principal and coworker for Dave and I on a ventilator due to Covid and fighting for his life. Then I was told a former colleague from the Elementary School where I use to work, and a man that I adore, has Bladder Cancer. Life is Hard! Then Covid makes it that much harder! I want to just stop in and give these friends the hugs and the quality time that they so rightly deserve and or need. It is hard to go about my normal day when you know others are hurting and are going through rough times. I must press on and just keep them in my thoughts and prayers and do what I can to brighten their day and or help them in any way I can. Baking always seems to be my answer too. On a positive note, my sister had a hip replacement last week and it seems to have gone well! Sorry for my long post, but sometimes we just need to write what is on our hearts.

Take care and send some cards to the people you love. After all, that is why we make them right? If you aren’t on the receiving end of one of these Galentines I am truly sorry…it has been a tough and busy week and time got away from me.

Hugs and stay well, Nanc’

More Silly Monsters

Hello, I hope this post finds you well, and a Happy Valentine’s Day to you too. I can’t seem to get enough of these sweet monsters and hope you don’t mind me sharing them once again. I think this should be the last time as I have since cleaned up my studio and filed them away. Over at The Paper Players, we have a color challenge starting that works perfectly for Valentine’s Day if you are still in that groove. If V-Day is not your thing anymore, the Design Team has done all sorts of types of cards with these colors. The colors are listed in the graphic below.

Here is another angle!

This time I am also linking up with the fun over at Inkspirational where the word is Hearts.

A few card Details: Monsters are from Your Next Stamp. I used a bit of Copics and Prismas to give them a little color. The heart background stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps and called Fluttering Hearts. They come two to a pack. The Speech bubble is from Stampin Up. I made the punning greeting on my computer.
