Hello, Today over at Seize the Birthday we have a new challenge starting. The topping I have chosen this time around is hearts, which is perfect for this time of year. When I have a large stamp to color it tends to overwhelm me a bit, especially if I am pushed for time. So I decided to get out my heart stencil and just capture part of the stamp. I love doing this technique and am doing it quite often now. I have been making different stencils out of acetate to have on hand for future cards. It is much better than post it notes. Waste not, want not as my mom would say.
I would also like to welcome our new Surprise Party Guest to STB for the next two months. I know it is someone you will recognize as she is very busy in blog-land and a wonderful card designer. Welcome, Carol Mayne! I am so happy to have you with us!
Card Details: Stamp is from Simon Says Stamps, the blocked sentiments are from Net and Tangled. I used Prisma Colored Pencils to color my daisies. And a white gel pen to make my white dots in the center of the flowers. This card didn’t photograph well and looks better IRL!

Wow, your colouring!!!!! Gorgeous. And I’m also thinking spotlighting a BIG stamp by masking it to a smaller shape is genius, too. So glad you added it to Addicted to Stamps and More, as well!

I just love how you did this card. I too am often overwhelmed by a coloring job. This is a perfect way to conquer and divide! I absolutely love this design and I am inspired!

WOW ! Absolutely gorgeous, Nancy ! I also make my own stencil but I usually used them with other stencils. I definitely have to try with stamps. Such a beautiful result with your delicate colouring. Love your CAS design too ! Thanks so much for sharing and for playing along at ATSM.

Good idea to use a part of the stamp/stencil – I tend to not use some of my bigger stamps for the same reason. And using acetate for the stencils too. I’m loving your card – heart florals look awesome!
