Monster Hugs-Slimline

Hello, I am back again today with my cute little monsters from your Next Stamp. Sorry folks, but I just couldn’t put them away quite yet as Your Next Stamp has a challenge going on called Young at Heart and I thought these little monsters completely personify being young! Then over at Just Us Girls, Marie has asked us to make a Slim Line card and I thought these monsters would also work perfectly! I don’t make a lot of these types of cards, but I can say for certain that I had a ball making these two.

A few card Details: Monsters are from Your Next Stamp, The fun color resist background paper is old and from Stampin Up. I absolutely have no idea why they don’t put it in the catalog permanently. It is so much fun to use and I use it very sparingly, as I love it so very much. It comes preprinted with various patterns and you just add ink to it. You rub off the ink and the white pattern shows through. Just like an emboss resist without the embossing powder. I splattered both of my backgrounds and added various other stamps too-MFT, Verve, and SU. I have a leftover bits jar where I found some hearts and dots that worked out perfectly. I used an MFT heart die-cut to make my windows. I used some colored pencils and Copics for a bit of color on the monsters. I was going to use googly eyes and changed my mind.

Here are a few other views. I would also like to link one of these up over at Inspirational Challenge where the word is Hearts.

I hope you will come by Just Us Girls and check out what the rest of the Design Team did this week, and play along!

Happy crafting, Nanc’
