Balloons

Hello, I hope you are doing well! I have been itching to play along with some of my favorite challenge sites besides my usual Design Team commitments and I had a chance yesterday to make two cards for the Twofer Challenge and AAA Birthday. First, over at the Twofer Darnell has asked us to use Balloons this time around.

I have been reorganizing my studio lately and I came across this alphabet stamp set that I forgot I had. I see a lot of cards in blog-land using large die-cut letters but mine are rather small and I knew these letters just might work for my idea. Of course my WISH card… isn’t a design I came up with. I am sure you have seen something similar a time or two. I also needed some more seagull cards for the store, so you have seen this design in some of my past cards. I get bored making the same card, so I decided to change it up a bit and add the sun and balloons this time. The balloon stamp and die are from SU and don’t get very much love or any for that matter.

These cards were colored and made very quickly as if they are for the stores, they can’t take me two hours to make, it just doesn’t make good business sense.

There is another view of the cards below.

Next, I am linking my WISH card up over at AAA Birthday where they ask for a large sentiment. This is a fun challenge site that has a large following too. You should check it out!

Card Details: Seagull and stencil-MFT, sun-Lawn Fawn, balloon-SU-Blow out the Candles, and Oxide ink, rough coloring.

WISH– Letters are called-Typewriter, birds are MFT, Balloon SU-Blow out the Candles, Plaid-Washi tape

Take care, Nanc’

  1. I looked in the dictionary under “happy” and there was a picture of your Twofer cards, Nanc’! These are two designs that never get old and never seem the same because of the ways we can make them special. I love how you’ve used a balloon string as the I in the word WISH, along with the colorful little birds and scalloped pp panel! And your seagull holding a purple balloon – I mean, c’mon! This card is very striking with the large drops in the background and the patterned sun! I plan on borrowing this design! Thank you so much for playing in TCC #35! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell

  2. I love your wish card! The idea of replacing the I with the balloon is clever! The sentiment really stands out! And your seagull on the other card is funny! 🙂 thank you for sharing at AAA Birthday for our large sentiment challenge! Good Luck! Valérie DT

  3. I love both of these bright and happy cards, Nancy! The sweet birds on the WISH card are so bright and fun and I love how you’ve used the balloon as the I! Your seagull card is so pretty with the bright waves and the bright, plaid sun shining! Thanks so much for sharing with us at The Twofer Challenge!

  4. Love what you’ve done with the sentiment and I do love a balloon on a card! Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Stay safe and keep crafting!

  5. Those sweet little love birds are adorable around that big sentiment, Nancy … and I love that you replaced the ‘i’ with the balloon string … so fun! The watery background and sunshine around your cute seagull is deliciously tropical … and how celebratory for the little guy to be holding onto his birthday balloon! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  6. Two very adorable cards! Love them both:)
