More than 1 Stencil

We have a fabulous challenge starting today over at Just Us Girls. The talented Carol is our host, and she has come up with the super idea of using more than one stencil this week. You know how much I love using stencils so I was super excited to get started on my idea for my card. I have been making a lot of one layer cards recently and I am really enjoying it. I feel as if my card making style is all over the place right now, but I sure am having fun with it. It is good to shake things up once an a while.

Card Details: I used Oxide inks in four colors to achieve my background colors. I used torn paper to mask off my paper and purposely left the white gap in between stencils. The sunflower and greeting are from Stampin Up. I came back with some Copics and Color Pencils to give the sunflower more definition.

Come on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the team has done with this challenge, you will surely be inspired.

Take care, Nanc’

  1. I’d never have the confidence to pull together a card with such bold colours and patterns, Nancy – it works perfectly. I can’t believe this is a one layer – there’s so much depth to it!

  2. Gorgeous card — that sunflower is very impressive

  3. I love the way you used the two stencils and those colors are wonderful too. Great card design.

  4. WOW! Your stenciling technique is soooo eye-catching; a beautiful background for that star-of-the-stage sunflower! I think it’s awesome that you’re exploring all kinds of technique and styles. Maybe that ‘is’ your style: a bit of this, a bit of that! Variety is a great thing!

  5. What a great design with your split sections of stenciling, the bright colors and beautiful stamped sun flower!

  6. Such beautiful stenciling, love the colors and that sunflower is gorgeous!

  7. I love that torn edge, Nancy. I looks like you actually tore the yellow paper and placed it over the red. That sunflower is outstanding and so full of sunshine. My style is all over the place too but I rather like it that way. Or rather I like doing a variety of things. I went from lots of layers to clean and simple and back again, plus throwing in some different backgrounds.

  8. When I first looked at this I thought you had popped the middle piece Nancy. Great idea to just leave some white space between the stenciling making it a fabulous one layer. That sunflower is a ‘stunner’ Love it.

  9. This is so pretty and a very clever way to use the stencils. Love the masking and the colors are so pretty too!
