Happy Graduation

I am happy to finally share with you the Graduation cards I had made for the stores a month ago. I work way ahead on my DT Commitments, so that is why these cards are a tad late to share for graduation season. The layout for our Sketch this week at The Paper Players was the starting point for these designs. Sweet Laurie selected the perfect sketch and what I loved about it is, it’s just basic enough to let your creativity flow.

Here are a two others that I made while I was at it.

Here are all three.

Since the Grad die and hat is brand new to me I am linking up my cards over with Darnell over at NBUS!

Card Details: I started off making my own stencil out of these fun Spellbinder rectangle dies that have these fun jagged edges, they are so old and I have no idea what their official name is. Next, I sponged my backgrounds in various colors using Oxide Inks. Then I got out some fun background stencils-the heart is from Honey Bee Stamps and the star one is SU along with some white pigment ink and pounded away using a sponge applicator. The grad die and cap are from SSS, and the rest of the sentiment is from Verve. You can’t tell by the photos but 2 of the 3 grad dies have a shadow of vellum beneath them. I forgot to add it to one of them. The fun decorative victorian bevel is made with my large Fiskars cutter.

Late Father’s Day Card

Hello, It’s Photo Week at Just Us Girls and let me just say that Vicki picked a tough one for me. I decided to change the theme of the photo with my interpretation. Pretend the little boy is carrying a fishing pole instead of planet shaped balloons. LOL No, in all seriousness. I decided that I would pull my inspiration from the water/sea and the deep blue colors and that is what I did…oh and the fishing theme too. I swear that is a tackle box in his right hand and not a briefcase. ;). That is one good thing about Photo Week your inspiration can come from anywhere.

Card Details: All products are SU except the polaroid type opening, I cut myself and the Wonky Rectangle die is MFT.

We can’t wait to see what you do with this photo at Just Us Girls this week…Come join us! Nanc’

Birthday Wishes

Hello, Here we are time for another Topping at Seize the Birthday! Sweet Ashwini is our hostess and has asked us to use an Embossing Folder this time around. If you are anything like me you have plenty EF to choose from. This particular one has no label on it whatsoever so I couldn’t even begin to tell you whose it is. It is one of my favs for sure.

I am also joining in over at Happy Little Stampers with Anything Goes with Dies.

Card Details: Embossing Folder-who knows, The Peony Bouquet and die – Crafter Companion, All the Stitched Dies – MFT, The sentiment -Verve. Some very quick coloring with some Prismas.

I hope you dust off some of your old Embossing Folders like I did and you will come and play along!

Hope to see you there! Nanc’

Bananas for you

Hello crafters, Today at The Paper Players we have a Clean and Simple challenge beginning and the fun theme that sweet Joanne has chosen is Fruits & Berries. I had to dig deep in my neglected stamps bin to find some fruit for this challenge. Luckily, I came across this stamp set with these cute bananas in it. Now, this stamp set is very poor quality as I probably picked it up at Michaels eons ago, so just ignore the jagged black lines on the edge of the bananas.

I am pairing this challenge with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge that is going on right now. I saw that they also had a choice of CAS so it was very easy to incorporate the center row of Any Color, Free, and CAS in my design.

Card details: I have no idea what company makes this stamp and or greeting. The scalloped edge die is from MFT. I used some Copics and Prismas for some really quick and haphazard coloring. CAS is hard for me so I decided some small paper punched dots might liven it up a bit.

Hello, Hello, Hello

Hello there, It’s time for Color Week over at Just Us Girls. Cecile has a fun and bright color palette for you to enjoy. Now, before you go asking me where on the graphic do you see yellow? I promise I didn’t use any yellow on my card. I used white pigment ink and a sponge with different size square stencils over my orange, red, and pink blended background. My good friend Carol shared this fun Bokeh Technique using squares with me. She found it over on Karren J’s-Stampin Stuff blog and I have linked it up for you HERE! And, you should definitely check out Carol’s card at Saw It Had to Make It. You can find it HERE! It is so good!

Card Details: The background technique is linked above. I made my own square stencils. The phone is from Papertrey Ink. The HELLO and word bubble stamp is from SU. The vellum underneath the phone warped a bit unfortunately. The scalloped circle is Sizzix and the stitched circle is SU. Pop dots for dimension.

I am linking my card up over at Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge also since I made my own stencil for my background.

Now, pop on over to Just Us Girls and check out the Design Team’s work and join us! Nanc’

I Heard you were…

Hello, It is the middle of the month and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues! Sheri has chosen a color combo that I really, really love…Aqua and Black. I just adore these dragons from MFT, don’t you? A dear friend of mine’s hubby was having some heart issues and I made this especially for him. Over at Color Hues we have the fabulous Trina Pham joining us as our guest!

Here is a close up of my cute dragon.

Card Details: Dragon, sentiment, and both types of clouds are MFT. The stars are dies also and from Your Next Stamp. I used both Copics and Prismas as my medium.

There is no shortage of inspiration over at Color Hues by the Design Team and Trina, come be inspired! Nanc’

Flip Flop Birthday

Hello, We have the brightest and most beautiful Color Challenge starting today at The Paper Players! Claire is our fabulous hostess and she was so colorful in her selection. My first thought was to make the striped DSP to match the colors and I am glad I did.

Life is not improving and I am so lucky I worked way ahead on all my challenge blogs as I hate to let anyone down, so I am going to have to wrap this up!

Here is card number 2.

I am going to be linking up over at Happy Little Stampers as well with Anything Goes with dies.

A Few Card Details: Tags and the scalloped die are from MFT, I made the flip flops from Impression Obsession die with strips of paper. The first cards sentiment is from MFT and the second card’s sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps. The hearts on the flip flops are from the SU owl punch.

No Stamping

Hello, Over at Just Us Girls Carol is our fabulous hostess and she has asked us to make a card with NO Stamping.

Here are a few ideas: (dies, stickers, watercoloring…anything that doesn’t involve stamps)

Since life has been a bit stressful and I didn’t have time to make a card this week (sorry Carol), I went in my vault of cards not shared yet and found just the perfect one. So if you are wondering why there is a blooming Christmas cactus in the photo, this card was probably made last December.

Card Details: Embossing folder-Cuttlebug, Hubiscus dies- Altenew, thanks die-Saavy, Heart die-MFT, leaf dies-Verve.

Hope you will pop on over to Just Us Girls and play along we would love to have you! Take care, Nanc’

Nautical

Hello, We are back again over at Seize the Birthday and we have a fun challenge for you to get creative with. Lindsey has chosen Nautical as our topping. I was so happy when I saw this topping coming up as I adore making Nautical themed cards.

We also have a brand new Surprise Party Guest joining us for the next two months at STB. Welcome Melanie Hungerford! We are so happy to have you designing alongside us!

Remember over at Seize the Birthday our topping is optional and you can always go the direction of justing making a birthday card!

Card Details: I borrowed this fun background stamp and sentiments from a friend and it’s from Avery Elle. Thanks Carol. I masked off the center to leave an oval. Then I cut out my anchor on my Cameo. Last, I added the twine and some Honey Bee Stamps Dew drops.

Hope to see you over at STB! Take care, Nanc’

White, Gray and Navy with Vellum

Hello, I hope your week is off to a great start! I just love the color combo going on this week at TGIF Challenges. The colors are so soothing and they inspired me to make a sympathy card that I needed for my hubby’s cousin whom just lost her hubby to cancer. Such a terrible and sudden shock as we didn’t know he was sick. I assume those were his wishes.

Card Details: It was time to give some of my older SU stamps some love. I have always been a huge fan of these flowers. The sets that the flowers came from are called Flower Shop and Petite Petals. I paired them with some of the elements of the new Forever Fern stamps and dies. The greeting is from Verve. The tag die is from MFT. I used white embossing powder on vellum for my flowers and then white on navy for the smaller centers of the flowers. These flowers do not come in the same set but compliment each other perfectly. Some gems for the centers. The dotted background paper is that stash I talk about all the time from SU that has a pattern on it and resists ink. So I took my Smoky Slate SU ink and inked it up. Then I wiped it off with a towel just like an emboss resist and the dots come through. I used the same grey ink to ink my SU leaves as well.

I had a hard time photographing this card and it looks much better in real life.

Thanks for all the visits as they really brighten my day!

Take care! Nanc’
