Hello, Is fall showing itself where you are yet? Well if not, we are sure feeling it this week at The Paper Players. Claire is our hostess and she wants all of us to embrace Fall with a CAS challenge. As I was making my card, I was reminded of a trip my hubby and I took last fall to a cabin in the Georgia mountains to escape the world for a bit. We had such a great time. I hadn’t seen fall leaves in a long time and I was like a little kid collecting them everywhere we went. Thanks for the memory Claire!

I am going to toss my card in for my second entry over at Addicted to CAS where the word is Leaf!

Card Details: The paper isn’t black as it appears but a deep chocolate brown! I absolutely adore the die set from Stampin Up called Seasonal Layers, it is since retired as far as I know, but it it so much fun to use. After I cut out the outline of my leaves I found some patterned DSP to put behind the openings. Then I cut out the vein parts of the leaves all in dark brown to match the bottom of the card. The scalloped edge die is from MFT. The Thanks die is from Saavy.

This is such an impressive card. I love the striking background that you created with that die. The leaves in different colors with offset patterned paper are awesome. Altogether, a wonderful CAS card.

This is a great way to keep fall going (or starting) for a long time! Your leaves are big and bold and beautiful and the black portion complements it perfectly! We have ONE tree that is just starting to turn its leaves….I think it is trying to get the others to get on board! Soon enough!

I love everything about this card! The colors are so fun and really pop with the black. That scalloped trim is the perfect touch, too. All around fabulous, my friend!

Beautiful colors and I’m glad you said it wasn’t black because it definitely showed like black on my screen! I love the dark brown even more; such a rich fall color to make the leaves pop! Love the subtle patterns on the DSP also! Have a great week!

What great fall colors, Nanc’! The black is SO striking…and I love the curved border. If you feel the need to connect with leaves this fall, you are more than welcome to visit me. I’ll have tons in need of raking! Hugs, my friend, and enjoy the rest of your week!

My screen is showing the chocolate brown as black Nancy but I can imagine it is really effective in real life. Loving the leaf treatment. The dsp solids and the brown outlines offset from them slightly look fabulous! Thank you for coming to play with us again at Addicted to CAS. Vicky x

I was so pleased to see you use those leaf dies this week – they are my all-time leaf favourites Nanc’! So pretty and striking against the dark brown too. Gorgeous!
