Birthday- Leaves

Hello, Instead of apologizing yet again for using my favorite dies and or stamps, I am just going to get right to it as there is no point anymore! LOL

It is Tic Tac Toe week at The Paper Players and I have chosen the last row of Diecuts, Leaves, and Embellishments. I made a card using these colors about a week or so ago and I loved it so much I decided to make another for this challenge. I have the other card for you down below in case you missed it.

Card Details: Leaves are all from SU and the set is retired and called Seasonal Layers. The greeting is also SU. The added copper sprigs are also SU and from the Forever Fern set. The background die is a favorite of mine and from Sunny Studio. I used Oxide inks to do my blending on white cardstock after stamping the image and making a stencil. I punched out some copper dots for my embellishments. I love how it turned out!

Leaves

Hello, First, I just want to say it is not my fault! LOL! I had no choice but to get out my leaves once again, but this time I used the dies as is. I thought I would change things up a bit, so you would still visit me! In all seriousness, It’s Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls, and Bobby is our fabulous hostess and she has chosen Leaves for our challenge. Perfect for this time of year! My card is a bit on the Springy side with the colors I chose, but since it’s a Birthday card I think I can get away with it. Still trying to use up some of this DSP and I managed two pieces on this card!

Card Details: This card is a CASE of this one Here! I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. The retired SU stamp set is called Colorful Seasons and the die set is called Seasonal Layers. The birthday greeting is also from SU. This card also has dimensionals for some height.

Now, head on over to Just Us Girls and check out what my teammates did with this Wild Card Week! Speaking of Teammates! We are saying a sad farewell to Angie over at Just Us Girls this week! To say I will miss her creativity, friendship, and kindness is a huge understatement. Angie, I wish you so long but not farewell as I know we will still see your lovely creations popping up now and again in blog land! Take care, my friend!

I also need to say farewell to our guest Nora! You have been a pure delight and I have enjoyed your cards immensely!

Happy creating, Nanc’

Bye Bye Cancer

Hello, Today was a big day for my Hubby! It was his final day of treatment for Prostate Cancer. YAY! I guess I should say it was a big day for me too! It has been somewhat of a rocky road, as he (very unfortunately) was not the only thing the past 7 months that I had to focus on, but we got through it, and it’s time to BEGIN AGAIN! Now that hubby is allowed to ride a bike again, (restrictions from his treatment plan), those are the words (BEGIN AGAIN) he chose to put on the back of his bike. Hubby has been putting signs on his bike for the past 16 years or so. They always reflect what is going on in the world or how he is feeling about something.

Here is the inside of the card. I had a great time making this card for him and mixing stamp companies. I thought it was a fun theme with Halloween just days away too.

Card Details: Stamps- Monsters-My Next Stamp, Ghosts-Miss Ink Stamps, Sentiments were done on the computer and most were stamped with a speech bubble from SU. I used Copic and Prisma Colored Pencils as my medium. I stenciled the wallpaper for inside the house with Oxide inks.

I can’t take any credit for the front of the card…I saw this idea HERE! I had a happy accident though, I messed up the left-hand side of the door and had to cover it, so I made a door jam or molding. I think it worked out well.

I am going to share this card over at Cupcake Inspirations where they have a monster Halloween-themed photo that depicts my monsters perfectly!

Thanks for letting me share my news with you!

Take care of yourself and others as life is uncertain, Nanc’

CAS Birthday Card

Hello, Today it is time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday and Colleen has asked us to make a Sunset on our Birthday card. Such a perfect topping for this Florida girl! Remember out topping is optional, any birthday card will do. This is one of the cards I usually mass produce.

Card Details: I made the background with Oxide Inks and a stencil I made with acetate. The palm tree stamp is from Impression Obsession.

Now, come by and check out all the different ways the Design Team and our Guest Carol interpreted sunsets!

Take care, Nanc’

Merry Christmas

Hello, Happy Monday! I had some time over the past week to make a couple of cards for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Hop. This is something that is new to me. I heard about it over on their Build Your Stash Holiday Card FB Page. I have linked them both up for you! If you love making Holiday cards, you should check it out, and the hop of course! Did I mention there are prizes to be won! Details about my card are below!

Here is my second card. I put Bermuda Bay on the outside ring!

To this day it is still one of my favorite SU colors!

I am also going to join in over at the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge. This is also a new challenge that you should definitely check out! The sweet ladies- Darlene and Diane started it along with their many other challenges.

Card Details: These colors were suggested by my good friend Carol, and I just love them together. These two wreath die-cuts belong to Carol as well and are from Simon Says Stamps. One is called Ornamental wreath and is sadly no longer available and the other is called Ring Wreath and I can still find it there. You have to have lots of patience if you want to really bring these to life by putting some color behind or on top of the openings. I decided that I would also add some foliage from SU at the top of the wreath in silver and white from the Forever Fern die set. The bow is also from SU (retired) and I like it but wish it was a bit bigger. The greeting is SU as well and heat embossed in silver.

Take care and I hope you have a great week! Nanc’

Sketch Week at TPP

Hello, It is Sketch week at The Paper Players and LeAnne has a fun sketch for us and you to try! In hindsight I should have embraced fall or winter instead of making a summer vibe card, but I had this sea horse and sand dollar on my desk and I thought I might as well use them.

Card Details: The water looking EF is from who knows because now I can’t find it! That is so strange! The sea horse and sand dollar are from Spellbinders. The Sentiment is from Verve. I did the smooshing technique on watercolored paper for my seahorse. The DSP and enamel dots are from SU.

Last of the Boos

This is my second post for the day if you are looking for Just Us Girls…scroll down!

Hello, I am wrapping up the Halloween cards with this post today, at least I think I am. You probably don’t believe me with my track record in all. LOL. I was inspired to pull my Miss Ink Ghosts out again yesterday because of the fabulous photo over at The Color Throwdown, to my defense they have pastel ghosts in the pic! What’s a girl to do but comply. Then the challenge over at Inspired By is Who’s Your Boo! See why I had to play along?

Card Details: A lot of masking and covering for this card background. Miss Inks stamps-Boo Sheet, Miss Ink stencils Cloud Hearts and MFT cloud stencil. Oxide inks and Prismas. The heart stencil in the middle of the cloud heart is from Honey Bee Stamps.

Are you still making Halloween cards or you up to your eyeballs in Thanksgiving or Christmas already?

Take care, NANC’

I Can’t Wait to Meet You

Hello, It’s the weekend and time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls! It happens to be photo week and Cecile has chosen the most precious photo. I decided to do the obvious and make a baby card.

Card Details: Postal dies are from Hero Arts. The clouds are from MFT and I have vellum behind them. The Star stamp is a very old SU set. The Fox, White Stars, and Greeting are all MFT. I used Copics and pencils for my medium. Lots of dimensionals too.

Now head on over to Just Us Girls and check out the Design Team’s cards along with our guest Nora. I know you will be inspired!

Take care, Nanc’

More Leaves

Hello friends, You didn’t really think I was done with Fall leaves yet, did you? LOL As soon as I saw the gorgeous photo from Just Add Ink, I knew I had to get them back out at least one more time. To keep things in a more Fall perspective I added a dark background using one of my favorite Stampin Up colors, Blackberry Bliss.

Here is a close up.

I am going to link up again over at the Four Seasons Blog as well where their Fall challenge is still going strong.

Card Details: Leaves are all from SU and the set is retired. The greeting is from Scrapbook.com. The added gold sprigs are also SU and from the Forever Fern set. I used Oxide inks to do my blending on white card-stock.

I made another card using these colors for an upcoming Paper Players challenge so stay tuned. Take care, NANC’

Greeting from…

Hello, I have a quick post for you today! I am playing along with the Time Out Challenge where the Theme is Down to Earth. Have you ever made a purchase and thought it was such a great idea and then you got it you were a bit disappointed? Well, that is how I feel about this stamp and die set from Hero Arts. One of the US dies is so large it will never fit on a card base. ( I guess I should have read the fine print more carefully.) LOL I thought I would love it and find lots of uses for it, and that has not been the case. Well, that is until today when I saw this challenge starting at Time Out, I decided to give it a chance. I think the background stamp is okay, and I am glad I decided to put the sun-ray in the background as I think it helps.

I decided to make two cards while I was at it. Below is the second one. I added a drop shadow as you couldn’t see the US Map very well.

I am going to play along over at Happy Little Stampers too Die-Cut Challenge.

Card Details: States Stamp and Die set is from Hero Arts, The sun-ray is a stencil and I used Oxide inks for my blending. I had to come up with the from and the someone who from other stamps sets. On the second card it says in the inside…misses you!

Not sure I will play with it again, but who knows!

Take care, Nanc’
