Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Thinking of You

Hello, Today is October 1st and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues! I have been looking forward to this challenge as I just love this color combo that Lindsey chose, especially for this time of year.

I am also playing along this time with the Time Out Challenge where they have an inspirational quote that is just beautiful about flowers and thought it was so fitting for my card. And over at NBUS as I have not used this flower, die or background die before.

Card Details: My dear friend Barb gifted me some stamped images and die cut of this gorgeous Power Poppy Chrysanthemum and I haven’t got the chance or should I say the courage to color it up like she can. I am so glad I gave it a go, as I am very happy with the results. I used Copics and just a bit of Prisma Colored Pencils. The sentiment is an oldie from Verve. The background die is brand new to me and is called Lattice from Whimsy Stamps. I have lots of dimensionals on this card as well. I sent this card to a friend of mine whose father passed away.

Now, please come on over to Color Hues and check out all the inspiration from the team and our TWO guests-Marcia and Jacinda. Welcome ladies! I know you will be so inspired!

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

  1. Let me be the first to congratulate you on this gorgeous card. So happy that you got out the markers and pencils. That background is amazing with the die cut flower and leaves. A knockout of a card.

  2. Wow, this is beautiful! I hadn’t even thought about how long it’s been since we had green, but as you said on CH – bring on the leaves!!!

  3. Love this Nancy, great background and the chrysanth bloom is fab. It reminds me of my late Dad who grew them in regimented rows at the end of the garden!

  4. Fabulous coloring on that mum, Nancy. I love the dropped petals.

  5. You are going to have to stop being so hard on yourself, Nanc’, because you don’t need courage to color! Any of us would be proud to color this beautifully. You absolutely brought that mum to life! I’m glad you are happy with the results and the fact that this stunning card will bring a friend some comfort. Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
