Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Sending Hugs

Hello, It’s Color Week at Just Us Girls and the lovely Lisa has a fun color trio for us to enjoy! This is such a great combination! Yes, I used my favorite stamp set once again. Believe it or not this is my third attempt for this challenge. The other two didn’t WOW me one bit! Perhaps I will share them at another time.

I am also joining in the challenge Make Your Mark at Addicted to Stamps and More! For this challenge you can use various ways of adding color to your design. I chose Oxide Inks.

Card Details: Stamps and Dies are retired from Stampin UP and called Colorful Seasons. I first made a stencil of the die that matches this stamp. Then I stamped a white panel of leaves. Next, I used my stencil and sponged each leaf one at a time using three colors of Oxide Inks. Then I decided there was too much white and used a stencil on the background. Then I cut the finished panel out with my new postal die cuts. Last, I added the greeting which are SU(sending) and SSS (HUGS). I layered the hugs four times for depth.

Come on over to JUGS and Join us! Nanc’

  1. With the addition of the stencil, your card has just the right amount of white. Those leaves are the best in these fun colors that are so different from the fall ones. They are the bomb!

  2. Such a pretty Fall card!

  3. Nancy… I can’t believe how well you made these colors work for a fall card…just fabulous! Loving your card!

  4. This one definitely wows! I love how you coloured the leaves. Thanks for adding this to Addicted to Stamps and More!

  5. This is gorgeous! I love how you made your own stencil to color those beautiful leaves and that stenciled background was the perfect touch. So creative using this color combo!

  6. Love thos pretty colourful leaves Nancy and that super stenciled background. Nice did cut. Soooo colourful!

  7. The stenciled background doesn’t detract from those gorgeous leaves at all, Nancy. I also feel white can be too stark sometimes and you solved that beautifully.

  8. I had to read your directions twice to figure out how you made this beauty! Very cool techniques! Really pretty card. I’d love to see the others that weren’t up to snuff according to you. I bet they are just as beautiful!

  9. Wow! What a pretty card! I just love the use of the challenge colors paired with some autumn leaves. It’s surprising and beautiful at the same.

  10. What a lovely card! I like how bold the background is and how it blends in with the beautiful maple leaves. Thanks for joining us at Addicted to Stamps and More!
