Happy New Year! Hello-2022

This is my second post of the day! If you are looking for Just Us Girls…scroll down!

Hello, Happy New Year to you! I am back today from a much-needed and enjoyable Holiday break with the first card of 2022. Today’s card is for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues! Hannelie is our hostess and she has chosen, Red and Purple. As you can see on my card I embraced all different shades of purple. It may appear that her coat is on the blue side of things but I promise it is more of a periwinkle tone of purple. (Fellow DT member, Carol can come to my defense as it is now in her hands.)

Card Details: The cute Shopping Spree die cut is borrowed from a friend and is from Spellbinders. The happy die is from MFT, and the EF background is from Sizzix-Tim Holtz. I really love the way this turned out! There is a sample of a darling card using this die on the Spellbinders site that inspired me to use this for something other than Christmas.

Before I go, Do you do New Year’s resolutions? I usually don’t do a very good job sticking with these types of things. So, what I have been doing the past few years is, I come up with a WORD for the year to live by and or to perhaps challenge me to do things better. My word in 2020 was acceptance, my word for 2021- was productive and my word for this year is going to be…wellness. My health has really been put on the back burner this year and I have been really suffering, especially over the past several months and most recently, the Holidays. So now that my hubby is better and hopefully cancer-free, and I am adapting to my father’s situation with his Dementia and unhappiness in the ALF, it is time to take care of me! I have to get my health back on track and get to the bottom of all the troubles I am having! Wish me luck!

Please come on by Color Hues and check out all the fabulous inspiration from the Design Team and our guest-Tenia. We would love to have you join us too! And once again Happy New Year to all of you!

Take care, Nanc’

  2. This is wonderful Nanc! Love the hues you chose and that fabulous background. I hope you can get to the root of the problem. I’m always here to help. Happy New Year my friend!

  3. That is such a cute die set and looks fabulous in red and purple, Nancy. I’ll hve to put my thinking cap on for the challenge since I’m no longer a “Red Hatter” when I wore red and purple. Yes, please do take care of yourself, my friend. Hopefully you can find out the problem and resolve it easily.

  4. Nancy, I love how adorable this image looks in red and purple with your special details added. The embossing folder is so unique! I’m joining in encouraging you to take care of yourself and realize that you are worth all the time it takes. Well wishes for a happy New Year!

  5. I just love this adorable image and she’s just perfect in red and purple. The red and purple layering for the “Happy” is an added bonus in this great design! This will be my 12th year choosing a word to guide my intentions. I’m returning to a word I chose exactly 10 years ago: Balance. Happy New Year! May it be a happy and healthy one for you and all your family!
