Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Look at the bright side…

Hello friends, Things are a bit hectic here but in between cleaning out closets and putting my house back together after having two bedrooms painted I found some time to rest and play along with the challenge going on over at The Paper Players. I knew which card I was going to make as soon as I saw their laughter is the best medicine challenge. The idea came from the sentiment that comes from the stamp set Manatee-rific by Newton’s Nook-Floaty Potato. LOL I will never call a Manatee by its given name ever, ever again. Also, we all need to remember when life is hard or if we are having a bad day, that we could in fact be a Floaty Potato! Oh wait, that doesn’t sound so bad after all! ;). No worries, no stress, and feeding on seagrass all day.

I don’t have very many funny stamp sets in my stash, so I had to create the text on the front of my card with my computer.

Card 2– I don’t care for this one as much. The added dies don’t look like they belong.

I will also be linking up over at Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge.

Card Details: The Stamp and stencil are both from Newton’s Nook. The little dies on card 2 are from MFT. I used Oxide inks for the background and some colored-pencil and Copics to color with. I made the free-from shape myself with a piece of acetate. The speech bubble die is from SU.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope whatever you do today it brings you joy and you laugh a little too! Nanc’

  1. I love your little floaty potato, Nancy, and the stenciled background you gave him. He has such a cute face.

  2. These are so darn cute, Nancy! Love the stenciling in the background and the punny sentiments!

  3. Nancy, your cards are adorable! The stenciled background is awesome. And seriously, I will never be able to look at a manatee again without thinking of a “floaty potato”. Thank you for making me laugh out loud, and thank you for playing with The Paper Players this week!

  4. This is so true and so funny! Love that lil “potato”! And the stenciled background is perfect! Thanks for playing at The Paper Players this week!

  5. That properly made me laugh out loud Nancy – I will never look at a manatee the same way again! Love that background stencil too. So looking forward to seeing the floaty potatoes again when I visit the sunshine state later this year!! Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!

  6. LOL, I had never heard a manatee called a floaty potato, but it does seem appropriate, and yes, I could stand being a floaty potato once in a while! Adorable card…that background is just amazing! Fun way to play along with our Paper Players challenge this week!

  7. Such a fun card! I love the sentiment also – perfect with this cute guy 🙂 – Thanks for joining in at HLS Stencil Challenge

  8. Just an adorable card and I love the fun sentiment. I should really make more humorous cards like this one.
