Hello, It’s time for Color Week at Just Us Girls. The colors as you can see below are; Red, Blue, Yellow, and your choice. I chose green as my fourth color. I am not at all happy with this card, but it is what it is!

Card Details: MFT-Tags, background stamp called Gerbera Daisy is from SSS, the sentiment is from Verve and the flower in the vase is from Gina K. I heat embossed the image in white and added a very quick coloring with Copics.

Please come on by the Just Us Girls and join us! The DT and our guest Lucie did a far better job with the colors and I know you will be inspired! Take care, Nanc’

You’re Manatee-rific

Hello, It’s the middle of the month already, and time for the next hues of color and Color Hues. I love the color pairing that Julie chose for us and I thought since it’s summertime here in Florida I would do something along those lines. I love these sweet Manatees from Newton’s Nook as they are just so darling and quick to color.

I am also playing along with CAS Mix Up Challenge where the challenge is to use stencils and either paste or gels as a combination. I have chosen shimmer paste from Nuvo for some added sparkle to my shells. I was happy to see this challenge blog was back!

Card Details: Manatee-rific- stamps, sentiment, and shell stencil are all from Newton’s Nook. The wave type stencil is from Mayco called Groovy. After I inked my backgrounds using oxide Inks I used some Nuvo shimmer paste for shine. My Copics are running out of ink so they didn’t color very well. Ric Rac is MFT and the other piece on the second card is the negative from the Ric Rac piece. I thought it resembled waves.

Please come on over to Color Hues and check out my Fabulous Design Team’s cards along with our wonderful guest Amy Tsuruta! I adore her and her work. I know you will be inspired! I certainly was

Take care, Nanc’

Fusion-Birthday

Hello, I am back today with another card and today’s inspiration all started with this awesome picture over at Fusion. As soon as I saw it, I immediately was intrigued. I just loved the shiplap background and those beautiful wheels that remind me of wreaths. Look very closely and you will see that I made a shiplap background as my starting point. The yellow butterfly and gold dots were used to mimic the lights in the pic. It was a very quick card to put together with good results.

Card Details: The wreath and all the foliage are retired and from Stampin Up. The Butterfly is from Birch Press Designs. The greeting is from Verve-retired too. I put three layers under my sentiment for some depth.

I hope you enjoyed your day however you chose to spend it! Take care, Nanc’

Deck the Palms

Hello, Happy Monday! YAY! I have finally started my Christmas cards and all thanks to CAS Christmas being back up in running again. They gave me just the kick in the pants I needed. Plus, I have another blogging friend joining that talented team. I was so happy to see the Lisa Elton announcement. Congrats Lisa! They are lucky to have you!

When I started this card I had intentions of putting just a small group of leaves around my image to form a wreath. I may have gotten a bit carried away, but I just didn’t like it when the wreath wasn’t full. So it may not qualify as CAS enough and I totally understand if it doesn’t.

I am also going to link up over at Addicted to Stamps and More for their Make Your Mark Challenge. They just celebrated their 10th Birthday so a big Congrats to them!

Card Details: Stamped image and greeting are from Newton’s Nook-Sun Soaked Christmas, the wreath was formed with a die from Sizzix-Spring Foliage. I used Copics and Prismas to color, and a bit of Oxide ink to make a blue sky. I did it last and I didn’t ruin it! LOL I also have Nuvo drops with glitter on my stockings. Red glitter paper for my berries.

I hope you do something today that brings you JOY! Take care, Nanc’

All I Want for Christmas…

Hello, Hope you are doing well! Today I am playing along with the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge and what they want us to do is make our card masculine. Of course, it must also be Coffee and Christmas-related. I have had this sentiment and fun fold card panel waiting in a drawer for years and I am so happy to finally put it to use.

Card Details: The sentiment is probably from Stampin Up. The AND die and coffee cups are from MFT, and the arrow and Coffee die on the inside are from Verve. I used a bit of Antique Linen Oxide ink to ink up the coffee cups.

I am so glad I finally took the time to once again play along with this challenge, as it’s certainly time to get started on those Christmas cards. Have you started on yours? I have ten done so far!

Take care, Nanc’

Many Thanks

Hello, Over at Just Us Girls Elizabeth is our wonderful hostess and she has asked us to make a card this time with a movable element. This was definitely out of my comfort zone but I was up for the challenge. I will say that I did learn a thing or two about spinner cards as this one has a few issues, but it does spin! Things just aren’t spaced out as well as they should be as some of my flowers and leaves go under the spinner when it moves. 😉

I am also playing along over at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Dies Challenge.

Card Details: This DSP is from Stampin Up and I just love it. The cute little turtle is from MFT-Polynesian Paradise. The greeting is from Gerda Steiner Designs. I used Copics as my medium.

Now, head on over to Just Us Girls and check out the cards from my fabulous team and our guest Lucie! They all did a great job. Nanc’

A Day to Celebrate

Hello, Second post for the day and one more card using Lemon Zest! 🙂

For the last few days, I have been thinking about the colors over at The Color Throwdown and knew I wanted to do something a bit outside the box. Then, when I saw the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches an idea popped into my head. Who says when you are making a card you have to stay true to the colors of that object! I kinda like the way this card turned out and hope you do too!

Here is a close-up so you can see that I heat embossed the sentiment in gold.

Card Details: Spellbinders-Lemon Zest, Lattice cover die from Whimsy Stamps, the sentiment is heat embossed in gold and from SU. I used a very little bit of Antique Linen Oxide ink along with Vintage Photo to give my leaves and lemons so dimension. My card base and cover plate were done with Cream cardstock but I am not sure you can tell with the overcast day we are having.

I know I have been posting a ton lately and you are probably thinking, how on earth and or does she do anything else? Well, my secret is, that I have stopped wasting a couple of hours every morning sipping coffee and scrolling through my phone and or blogs. I give myself 20 minutes and then I start my day. It is working out so well and I definitely feel more productive! I also added some timely reminders on the IG App that have really helped me to put the phone down!

Do you have bits of your day that you waste that you could change? I challenge you to give it a try!

Take care, Nanc’

Birthday Wishes and Sweet Friend

Hello, I am back today with more lemons, but this time I am playing along over at CAS Colours and Sketches for their color challenge and over at Tic Tac Toe Challenge using the center row of Die-cut embellishment and bright colors. As you can see I enjoyed this color combo so much that I made a second card, plus I had leftover leaves after I cut the leaves portion of the die down to a smaller size. I think the smaller bunch is cuter!

Card Details: Spellbinders Lemon Zest, sentiments are Gina K and Papertrey Ink. I used some Oxide inks to give some color to my dies. The scalloped edge and rounded edge dies are from MFT. A few clear rhinestones for the blossoms. The dotted EF which is supposed to be snow but I like to use it on anything is from SU.

Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful day and don’t forget to do at least one thing today that brings you JOY. Nanc’

Favorite Technique at STB

Hello there, It’s Thursday and time for the next topping at Seize the Birthday! Lovely Ashwini is our hostess and has asked us to use our Favorite Technique for this challenge. Ashwini is a huge help to me at STB as she makes all of our challenge graphics and I hope she knows how much I appreciate it.

I love this topping and although there are a few other techniques I dabble in, my all-time favorite is stenciling and most significantly making my own backgrounds. So no surprise, that is what I have for you here today.

I am also playing along at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes Stencil Challenge.

Card details: I used my Miss Ink- Heart Cloud Stencils, MFT-cloud stencil, and my favorite dragon of all time and sentiment, also from MFT. A few sequins and some Copics/Prismas and I was done.

What is your favorite technique when it comes to card making? I would love it if you would show us and join us in the gallery this week at Seize the Birthday!

Take care and I hope you do something today that brings you JOY! Nanc’

Hello

Hello, I am happy to report that I have a NEW die set that I am crushing on at the moment and it’s this one from Spellbinders. It is called Lemon Zest and it is super fun to piece together, I am certain you have seen it used a bunch recently either on blogs or IG. I am linking this card up over at The Paper Players where the theme that Anne Marie chose is Food and or Beverage. I have made four more cards using this set that you will see at a later date. The reason I used navy as my background is because of this gorgeous card by Yana Smakula. It is stunning and I have it linked up for you! She is truly an inspiration to me and others, as she is in Ukraine and dealing with the war and uncertainty yet still creating.

Card Details: Spellbinders-Lemon Zest, the hello die is from Crafter’s Workshop. I used a bit of oxide inks in both yellow and green to give the die some life. The background die is one of my favs called Frilly Frames from Sunny Studio. I used a few clear rhinestones on the centers of the blossoms.

I hope that you are doing well and that you have done something today that brought you JOY! Nanc’
