Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

You Make Me Smile

 Hello,

I am deeply saddened to share the news that I lost a treasured friend and teammate, Lindsey Martin-Penny, last week, following her hard-fought battle with cancer. Lindsey was well-known for her amazing creativity, witty sense of humor, and immense capacity to support and encourage her design team members and challenge participants.

I will certainly miss my dear funny friend who always was there for me to lean on, and without fail, made me laugh when I was having a rough day! What amazes me is, although we never met in person, I felt as close to Lindsey or even closer than I am to some friends I have known my entire adult life. She was a genuine and caring person. I feel very, very blessed to have known her.

Today over at Color Hues, this challenge just so happened to be chosen by Lindsey. The Design Team wants to honor and celebrate her beautiful, creative life by sharing “Lindsey Inspired” projects using her Blue and Purple combination, along with things she loved the most, as inspiration. We hope that you will join us as we pay tribute to our dear friend and teammate.

Here are a few of her favorite things:

humor, cats
gardening/flowers
love of reading
friendship
wine
tea

If you are a regular at Color Hues and/or Seize the Birthday you might know that Lindsey loved Clean and Simple cards too.

*For today’s Special Challenge, the Color Hues Team is being joined by our Sister Challenge Teammates from Seize the Birthday.  Lindsey was an intricate part of that Design Team as well.

Here is the card I made in honor of Lindsey.

Card Details: The Lily die and the white border die are both from MFT, both the you die and the stamped sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp. I used Copic markers to give the flowers some color and also splattered some white paint as well. The card-stock and or DSP are all from SU. A few sequins in purple and white to finish it off.

I would love for you to come on over to Color Hues and join us! We have lots of fabulous cards by the Design Teams showcasing Lindsey’s favorite things.

Rest in Peace dear friend. I miss you, and as my card says…YOU ALWAYS made me SMILE, Nanc’

  12. Your beautiful card is a wonderful tribute to Lindsey and I’m sure she’d be nodding her approval if she was here. The color combination is gorgeous and I just love how that beautiful purple plaid peeks around from all the edges of the card! I always looked forward to reading her comments left on my cards and I shall miss her around blogland in the future. We were all blessed to have her blogging for as long as we did. Hugs to you!
