I Think You’re a Pig Deal

Hello, Yes, I think you are a PIG deal and don’t you forget it!!! Back in September, I made a card using this adorable MFT set called Friendly Farm Faces and I just had to get it out once again, especially once I saw the sketch over at The Paper Players. However, I may have stretched the sketch a bit when I added my group of hearts on the opposite corners. I certainly hope that it is okay. This die set comes with a llama and a chicken, but I have yet to use the chicken, so stay tuned.

Because I am using this for a Valentine for Hubby, I am linking it up with the Time Out Challenge for their Inspired by Words Challenge as well.

Here is the first card I made using this set.

Card Details: MFT Die set called Friendly Farm Faces, the sentiment is also MFT and called Punny Farms. The Bows are from Paper Smooches. The hearts are a mix of this and that from my stash. I used dimensionals on their ears and snouts.

I certainly hope you are having a good week and you carve out some time to be creative, Nanc’

Sending My Love

Hello, I am back today with a card that is a total CASE of a card I saw Cathy Zielske do. I had just received this great foil background from Spellbinders (from my son) for Christmas and then two weeks later, Cathy did a card using it. The timing was perfect and I was in love right away. The card is super quick to do. All you have to do is foil the background and then color it in with brushes and inks. I used Oxide Inks. The sentiment is also foiled and from Spellbinders too. You can find all the info below.

Now, you all know how hard it is to photograph foiled cards, so you have to trust me that this looks wonderful in real life and it was so quick and easy to do. I took many photographs below.

I could not find Cathy’s card on her blog but it is on her Instagram account which I have linked up for you HERE! It is much softer and prettier than mine. Before I do this again, I will need some smaller blending brushes so I can stay inside the lines better when ink blending. It is supposed to be a little messy and that is what I love most about it.

Before I went to work, I checked out the colors at the Color Throwdown and I knew they would work perfectly!

I would be amiss if I didn’t link up with my friend Darnell over at NBUS.

Card Details: with Affiliate Inks

Yana’s Sentiments

I certainly hope you have a wonderful day, however you chose to spend it. I will be playing it low-key today, as yesterday was extremely busy and emotional. We spent the morning continuing the task of cleaning out my father’s home and then we met with the realtor. Then after lunch, we released our parent’s ashes along with their first grand-child (all together). Of course, I cried most of the day and slept poorly on top of that, as I had way too much to think about.

Take care, Nanc’

Say Yes to Cake

Hello, It’s time for the next challenge over at Just Us Girls. This year we decided to change things up a bit. One of the weeks of the month our challenge is now dedicated to all things Clean and Simple. I need a lot of practice making these types of cards, so I am super happy about this change. In fact, this is my second attempt this week as my first card just didn’t fit the guidelines below very well. LOL

Card Details: Stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps, the Cupcakes and sentiments are from MFT. The banner dies are from Pink and Main. I stenciled right on the card base using the Oxide Inks; Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed, and Abandoned Coral. I added lots of dimension to this card either with multiple layers or dimensionals. I seem to not be able to make a card without multiple layers, I like how stable it makes things look and higher quality in my opinion. Do you do the same?

Now, head on over to Just Us Girls and check out what my teammates have done along with our fabulous Guest Jules. This is Jules last card with us and we have certainly enjoyed having her on board.

Take care and Happy stamping, Nanc’

Candles

Hello, It’s the 4th Thursday of the month and time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday. Colleen is our fabulous hostess and she has asked us to use Candles on our card and or project. I have a very simple card for you today as I was running short on time.

Card Details: The fun candle dies are from Elizabeth Craft Designs. The birthday script die and scalloped die are MFT, and the wishes stamp is from Sunny Studios. I used some clear Nuvo drops on my candle wicks along with some fine glitter for added sparkle.

I certainly hope you will consider coming on over to Seize the Birthday and playing along, the team and our guest Stefanie and have some great inspiration for you too!

Take care, Nanc’

I’m Glad Opposites Attract

Hello, I am back today with a card that was designed around two challenges. First, I chose the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and then, the Color Challenge over at My Favorite Things. I thought the colors were so bright and happy together and I knew they would pair nicely with my idea. I had this stenciled heart laying on my desk for a few days that was left over from a previous card and was happy to put it to use. This card could be used for Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, and perhaps even Friendship. The dotted paper was a fun find in my stash.

Card Details: Heart Stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps. The dogs, sentiment, and little hearts are all from MFT-Begging to See You set. I used Copics and Prismas to Color with. The banner die is from Pink and Main.

I certainly appreciate you stopping by! I hope you have or had a wonderfully creative day! Nanc’

A Note to Lift Your Spirits

Hello, I hope you are having a good day. I am here today with a card that was made just for me and no particular challenge. Sometimes it’s good to just play with no perimeters and or guidelines and let the creative process go wherever it takes you.

Card Details: I just adore this Floating Bunny die set from Spellbinders and I thought she would look perfect in front of this fun stencil that I also really LOVE from Miss Ink Stamps. The stencil set is called-Cloud Hearts. Instead of finishing off the clouds with ink and a stencil, I chose to keep the heart in the middle as my focal point. I thought the bottom of the card looked a bit bare, so I decided to use the MFT Stitched cloud die to tie it all together. The sentiment I chose is from the Tweet Hello set, that’s also from MFT. The banner die is from Pink and Main. Instead of using a white gel pen to add highlights to my heart balloons and ruining it…LOL, cause I know I would, I thought, why not use the inside of the bunny ear and a Holly die. I LOVE how it worked out. I will be doing this from now on. The strings are made from gold paper. I used Oxide inks Worn Lipstick and Kitsch Flamingo to blend my heart clouds.

You are in luck! The floating bunny is on sale right now! You can find it HERE!

I certainly appreciate you coming by, I hope you find some time in your day to be creative.

Take care, Nanc’

Let’s Get Together…

Hello friends, I am back today for the next challenge over at Just Us Girls. Starting this year we tweaked our Photo Week challenge to include a Moodboard. So the host of the challenge can stick with the usual single photo that we have done for years or do a Moodboard, which is what Carol Mc has for us today. I love this change to our line-up and hope you do too. Since I think about coffee morning, noon, and night, it’s no surprise that is where my eyes gravitated to.

Card Details: The background is a wonderful piece of DSP from SU. The stamp set and dies are from the Greetery and are called Cozy Cup and I am shocked that they are still available.

I hope you will head on over to Just Us Girls and check out all the cards from our Team and Guest! Take care, Nanc’

Fluttering By to Say Hi

Hello, I am back today with my final card using the Simon Hurley-Butterfly Kisses stamp set collaboration with Spellbinders. As you can probably tell, I totally enjoyed using this set and I am certain it won’t be put away for very long.

Card Details: I took the rose stamp to make my background. I stamped it in all four corners using grey ink. I got a little heavy-handed in the left bottom corner, sigh. I then took the background piece and cut out the outline of the butterflies. If you look carefully you can see the background paper peaking through. Next, the butterflies were inked in Catherine Pooler’s Samba ink to match my base paper and heat embossed in gold. I thought the card looked a bit stark so I decided to pull out the tiny flowers from the Spellbinders-Bouquet of Flowers set and use them for embellishments. ( I think that set is either no longer available or out of stock.) The sentiment is heat embossed and lifted with dimensionals.

LOVE IS…

Ice Cream of course!

Hello, I have a fun playful card today for this week’s Color Challenge at The Paper Players. If you know me at all you know that Ice Cream is my other addiction besides coffee. As soon as I saw the colors that Claire chose, I knew I wanted to play along, I have used some fun older MFT products for my card and sadly the LOVE stencil is not available anymore but the ice cream set is and it’s on sale! I will link it up for you below. The set is amazing! I colored up more than one sweet treat but they didn’t make it onto the card. This simple card took far longer than it should have to make. My colors are a bit off and I am hopeful the TPP ladies won’t mind.

Card Details: MFT; Love is Love Stencil, MSTN Sweet Treat Stamp set, and the Bottled Cap Letters. The other stencil was gifted to me and is called Leafy Squares Slimline by Pink Fresh Studio. I used Copics to color my ice cream and Oxide Inks for my stenciling.

I hope however you are spending the day, you throw a treat in there somewhere…or two! Nanc’

Handmade for You

Hello friends, I am back today with my 3rd card using this fun new set from Simon Hurley and Spellbinders. This time I decided to use just the rose stamp in the set and try my hand at watercolor- the cheaters’ way. What is the cheaters’ way…you might ask? In my opinion, it’s when you heat emboss the image so that it makes it easier to color inside the lines. It’s the only way you will see me doing it, that is for certain! I must say that I totally enjoyed the process. I know it has flaws and some of the shading is probably in the wrong place because of the light source…blah blah blah…but to me, worrying about all of that takes the joy away. I just wanted to relax and enjoy the process and that is what I did.

After I was done with the water coloring, I couldn’t decide on what I wanted to do for the background. Hubby suggested I used the foil plate-Sealed Geometric Flowers, he really thinks it’s awesome, and so do I. Now that it’s on the background, do you think it’s too busy? I am on the fence. The foiled Handmade For You greeting is from Spellbinders as well. I have links for you below. I decided to take this photo outside in the sun in front of my Florida Flame Vine and see if I could capture the foil a bit better.
