What’s Shakin?

Happy Monday…

Is there such a thing?

Today’s card is based on a very

interesting sketch over at CAS(E) this sketch!

cts17

It intrigued me so much that I decided I must not miss it!

Although, I am not sure the photo does the card justice,

it looks a lot better in person!  Trust me!

The rabbit and sentiment is from Verve and I absolutely love it!

What's shakin

It was one of the very first stamps I purchased from Verve

and certainly not the last.

If you have never heard of Verve, I have linked it

up for you… so you MUST have a looksie!

The DP is from My Minds Eye.

What little bit of coloring I did…was done with my Spectrum Noir pens.

Have a wonderful day!

MUSE- A source of Inspiration!

Good Morning,

I am Super excited today to share with you my card, but not only that….

I found one of the coolest new Creative Challenge sites to play along with a few weeks ago,

and I can’t wait to share it with you!  It is called MUSE!

At the top of their blog they have the definitions for Muse.

One of them states: A source of Inspiration!

Isn’t that so cool!!!  Jackie Rockwell is the brains behind this blog

and another one that I love called CASE(E) this Sketch.

and I haven’t even told you the best part yet!

Here are their 3 simple rules over at Muse:

*Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to Muse.
*Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member’s submissions.
*Vote for 3 of your fellow member’s submissions that you find inspiring.
Isn’t that so cool!!!  We the blog followers get to vote!
I don’t know about you but, I think that was pure Genius!
So here is my first card that I am linky over at Muse this morning!
I was determined last night to not miss this opportunity again!
I used my Scor-pal to mimic the box in the design!
I also, stamped the pink flower twice and only raised part
of the petals the on the second image!
Muse 6
And here is the source of inspiration!
Isn’t it Beautiful!!!
muse5_deanna
Which was to incorporate at least 3 buttons in your project.
It was hosted by someone I adore and admirer and
I wanted to make sure I played along!
I can never miss a Mix it Up Monday Challenge …They are always so much fun!
Also, I used one of my FAVORITE GKD Stamp sets….
Hugs and Prayers for this card!

Another Birthday and a Sweet Sunday Sketch

Happy Friday!  So glad it’s the weekend!  It was a tough week, but I made it!  I hope to get out and enjoy the cooler weather that is headed our way this weekend!  Well, now onto the real reason you blew in!   Today’s card was inspired by the fabulous sketch over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  If you have never been to this blog it’s a must!  I have been a huge fan for quite sometime and always felt a little intimidated by all the talent over there, but now feel that my cards are getting a wee bit better and I now have the guts to play along more regularly.

Here are a few details on what I used:  The embossing background I used is called Juli’s Garden by the Cuttlebug.

Stamps: Diamond background stamp is GKD and the sentiment is Stampin Up- called Thinking Happy Thoughts

Cardstock is a mixture over various kinds!  CM, SU, and Gkd and a DP scrap of who knows what….lol

The final touches were made with either a MS punch,SU punch or my Cricut.

Have a fantastic weekend,

Look Who’s Turning 50

Hello everyone,

Today’s card was made with my brother in mind.  He is turning the big 50 this year and along with this card I am making him a scrapbook of his life from birth till graduation.  I am a little over half way done and need to get the pedal to the medal… so to speak!  I have made similar scrapbooks for both of my sisters when they turned 50 and now it’s his turn.  Hey, I wonder who is going to make my scrapbook when my time comes?  LOL But I am in no hurry for that day!!!  🙂  Also, I am real excited to say that this card will be featured at the Crafty Card Gallery this week!  If you have never heard of this blog, I have linked it up for you to go check it out!   The challenge was to make a card with whatever we had laying on our desk…… My desk is usually relatively clean, (sorry I know that is strange for creative people), but I did have the following sitting there: The yellow DP, the two different styles of Die- cuts from My favorite Things, the sparkly stars and the ribbon.  Also, let me explain one of my tricks to use the DP that is being neglected:  Every couple of weeks I go through my papers and get out the ones that I have had for so long and never used…you know the ones gathering dust.  I feel that if they are in plain site they might spark some creativity and finally get a paper cutter taken to them.  And that is why the Yellow DP was incorporated into this card!

Details of the card:

DP and cardstock is CM and SU

Sentiment was made with my computer, the 50 with my cricut

All the Die-namics are from My Favorite Things

Used my cuttlebug for the texture behind the 50 (dots folder)

Not sure if you can tell by the photo, but I punched out some balloons and placed them on the black card stock for added detail.

Then added some ribbon, glitter stars and dots!

Thanks so much for the visit and don’t forget to check out the Crafty Card Gallery,

Blog Inspired Card…

At Casual Friday’s they asked us to make a card inspired by our personal blog header.  Well, my blog is in the middle of a transition and the header I currently have is really, really boring!  But, I did what I was told…lol and decided to make a card using the Aqua color that you can see throughout.  Also, I was asked by a co-worker to design a Bridesmaid card…so I married the two challenges together…pun intended!  LOL  I didn’t have a lot of time to do this today so I think if I had to do it again I would add a little bit more detail on the flowers and maybe run them through my cuttlebug.  Hope she likes it!

If you have any questions…let me know!  Have a great week!

Looking forward to Fall

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to the fall this year!  It’s my favorite time of the year!  It’s been really hot and humid here in Florida and I’m ready for a change.  Well, you didn’t come by to here me talk about the weather now did you?  Today’s card however does have a fall theme.  I played along with the challenge over at The Paper Players to use either Leaves or Trees in your creation.  I am barely getting this one in under the wire! Whew!!!  I am not thrilled with my coloring now that It’s already on it’s way to a relative.  I noticed some light areas on the leaves. 😦  Oh well… C’est la vie!

Cardstock is SU, I used prism colored pencils for coloring, sentiment was from a Garage Sale…sorry!  Some gems, black dots for added interest with a marker, a ribbon and there you have it!

Thanks so much for stopping by… I love all the traffic I have been getting lately!

Can’t get enough…

Can’t get enough of turquoise and sand so last night after dinner out with the hubby I thought I would make another card.  So along with the color challenge over at CR84FN, the Photo challenge over at Stamp TV, the make your won embellishments challenge over at The Pink Elephant….I decided I needed a sketch challenge to tie it all together and I chose Freshly Made #49.  I used more of my cricut for the flowers and swirls, that gorgeous DP that I have had for an eternity, some hemp and the center of my flowers were made with a MS punch.

Thanks for stopping by, I so love when you do!  Guess I better get back to some housework!

Happy Saturday

Well,  I survived the first week of school and it looks like we might have a 3 day weekend upon us thanks to hurricane or soon to be hurricane Issac.  If that’s the case more stamping time for me!  Not that I am wishing a storm on us or anyone for that matter.  My son is in Tallahassee so I hope Isaac decides to veer west!  We shall see by tomorrow morning they said.  Well, I know you didn’t come by to listen to me talk about the weather!  Onto the card I made today!  This card got it’s life from 3 different challenges.  Stamp TV photo challenge, CR84FN color challenge, and The Pink Elephants make your own embellishments challenge.  I have had this piece of DP for at least 5 years probably longer and finally got to take some scissors to it!  The flowers, tag, and swirls were made with my Cricut and I used the Picturesque cartridge  The sentiment is from Stamp TV’s Timeless treasures,  It’s one of my favorites and so versatile!  My scallop borders….one is MS and the larger one is new to me and is from My Favorite Things. Finished it off with some Hemp and there you have it!

So if you have never visited any of the challenge sites I mentioned your missing out!  I have links there to help you out….so go have a look!

Hope you enjoy your weekend and stay safe!

The Happiest of Birthdays

Well I survived the first day of school with the kidos!  Although, I must say I am a little sore because I feel like I walked about 5 miles, but I am still in one piece!  Those kids just warm my heart!   So, the card I have for you today is for 3 different challenges.  The first is for the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.   Those colors look amazing together and as soon as I saw them I knew I had just the paper for it!  The fabulous sketch is from ispy.  And the challenge over at the The Paper Players is to incorporate paper piecing…which I just love to do!  My photo came out a little more red…but the actual DP has more of the orange tones.  The clouds were drawn and cut out with scissors and embossed with my cuttlebug.  The balloon stamp is from the dollar bin at Michaels.  The sentiment is from Stampendous.

Thanks for stopping by…I just love when you do!  Have a great day!

Missing in action!

I am so sorry for the lack of posts!  As you may or may not have figured out, I went back to work this week and to say that I came home exhausted would be an understatement.  I never knew my thigh muscles could hurt so bad!  It’s time to get in shape!  Now, I need to figure out how to manage work, being creative, and my blog posting again!  The kids start back tomorrow…so wish me luck!  Now, onto the real reason you stopped by!  This card was based on the sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and the color scheme that was chosen for me is from Flourishes color challenge.  Yesterday I went over to Michael’s and picked up a new embossing folder called Juli’s Garden that now comes with a coordinating border.  Isn’t that cool!  So that’s the border you see on the side of my card!  Couldn’t stop there had to use my dots too!   The leaves and the swirls were made with my cricut.

Have a great start to the work week…and thanks for your patience since I was MIA!
