No Stamping

Hello, Over at Just Us Girls Carol is our fabulous hostess and she has asked us to make a card with NO Stamping.

Here are a few ideas: (dies, stickers, watercoloring…anything that doesn’t involve stamps)

Since life has been a bit stressful and I didn’t have time to make a card this week (sorry Carol), I went in my vault of cards not shared yet and found just the perfect one. So if you are wondering why there is a blooming Christmas cactus in the photo, this card was probably made last December.

Card Details: Embossing folder-Cuttlebug, Hubiscus dies- Altenew, thanks die-Saavy, Heart die-MFT, leaf dies-Verve.

MOM

Hello, Hope all is well with you and you are enjoying your day! I needed to work on some inventory this afternoon, after hubby and I had lunch at the park and went for our daily walk, and I knew right away when I sat down I was going to create something for this fabulous color combo going on over at The Color Throwdown. I couldn’t wait to get started because I just love pink, and in this challenge they have two shades of pink paired with cream. Those colors just screamed Mother’s Day card to me. This card was fun to put together.

Here is a front shot of the card.

Details: A few days ago I had a SSS order come in with this fun new stencil from Altenew called Rose Bouquet and a great SSS MOM die-cut, along with maybe a few other things. LOL So since these items were used for the first time, I am going to link my card up over at NBUS also. After I inked my base of my leaves I came back with a Q-tip to give the leaves some more realistic definition with the same Antique linen ink. It worked perfectly. The bottom sentiment is from Paper Roses- Mother’s Day Quotes and I just love it. Not sure I should have inked it in black ( and crooked-grr) but it’s a little late now. LOL I finished it off with a ribbon and some Nuvo drops in groups of 3.

Prayers and Hugs…

Hello, I have a quick and simple card for you this evening for the Less Is More Challenge. They have asked us to use Stencils one a one layer card. I have been itching to use my brand new Poppy Bloom stencil from Altenew since I got it. I will say though, I wish it was just a smidgen smaller so that it would fit better on a traditional card front, without cutting off some of the leaves. This is my second recent post for a one layer card! Woohoooo! I am out of my comfort zone once again. The sentiment is from Hero Arts!

Thanks for all the love as of late! It really makes a girl smile!

Wishing You…

Hello, I had some time to play along with The Flower Challenge today, and what they asked us to do this time around is pick one of their previous challenges to play along with. I have chosen Challenge #10- Heat/Dry Embossing. The stamp set I have used is from Altenew, and decided to pair that with some watercoloring. The sentiment is from Verve.

I am also on Day 12 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge. I can’t believe I have made it this far! I have really enjoyed doing some type of coloring everyday! It’s been fun, and relaxing too!

Bring on Fall!

Hello Friends, Don’t know about you, but I am ready for some cooler temps! The heat is intense and I don’t ever remember it bothering me as much as it is has this year. So I am hoping today’s Inspiration Photo over at Just Us Girls will help persuade fall to show it’s face in Florida. Wishful thinking I know, but a girl has gotta try. This card was put together with a little bit of stamps from here and there. The pumpkin is something I picked up at Michaels, the little leaves and sentiment are from MFT (a PI set called Thankful Friend), and the large leaves are from Altenew’s Beautiful Day set. Of course I had to use my favorite MFT stitched rectangles too!

I would also like to say thank you to Kathy Schweinfurth for being such an awesome Guest Designer with us this month! You are truly very talented Kathy and hope to see more of your work in our gallery soon.

I am also linking my card up to the Mod Squad challenge where they have asked us to use splats (big or little) on our project. I love doing the splatter technique…it adds so much to a card with so little effort!

Soft and Simple @ STB

Hello Friends, It’s once again time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday! The topping this time around is Soft and Simple! Easy huh? I decided to get back out my new Altenew Stamp Set Beautiful Day and get to work. The sentiment however is not from this set, and for the life of me I can’t remember where it’s from. That’s clearly a sign that I own way to many stamp sets and shouldn’t clean up so quickly after a card is complete! Before I go, one of my good friends and fellow Design Team members Sharyn is needing to leave STB after this challenge and I want to take a minute to tell her that she will be extremely missed! Your beautiful cards and friendship mean the world to me Sharyn and I want you to know you will always have a place at STB, if you choose to return! Be well my friend! I also would like to thank Monika Reeck for being such an AWESOME Surprise Party Guest these past two months and we hope to see you in the gallery from time to time in the near future.

STB is Hopping with Altenew!

Hello friends, Today is a fun day for my fabulous Design Team and I over at Seize the Birthday, we are one of the many guests taking part in The Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop with Altenew! We are absolutely thrilled that they contacted us to join them! Did I mention they have prizes too? You have got to see the LONG list of Challenge Blogs joining the hop! It’s incredible!!!

Before I go, my card was made with the Altenew stamp set called Botanical Garden. I colored the rose buds with my Spectrum Noir pens and used some additional shading with some Prisma Colored Pencils. The sentiment is heat embossed and the black and white background was made with the same rose bud stamp. I added a little bit of white dots for some added interest.
