Hello, I am the hostess this week at Just Us Girls and I have chosen a very simple challenge for CAS Week- Coloring. Can’t get any easier than that! If you choose to play along, just remember to check out our graphic and see what Clean and Simple means to us.
Card Details: Today’s card was totally inspired by Michelle Short and I have her wonderful card linked up for you Here. I used both Prisma Colored Pencils and Copics to color my sweet little bears along with a blend of pink and purple Oxide inks for my heart. I have tripled the bear dies with white card stock to add some dimension. I don’t know about you, but I do this all the time as I think it adds more stability and makes the cards more eye-pleasing. This darling set is from MFT and is called I’m Still in Love with You. My hubby was impressed with my coloring on this card, and let me just say, those praises are hard to come by.
I certainly hope you will come by Just Us Girls and check out what the DT and Guest- Karen Walker have done! This is Karen’s last post with us and I have certainly enjoyed all of her cards this past month. Thanks, Karen for being with us!
Hello, I hope you are having a great day! Today I am tickled to be the Guest Star Stamper at The Color Throwdown. If you are not familiar with this challenge, well you are missing out. If you know me you know I love Color Challenges. Fun fact, if I did my math right…I believe that the Color Throwdown has been around for about 14 years or so and that is just incredible! Way to go Color Throwdown Team, I certainly enjoy your challenge as do so many others! Today they have a fun trio of colors along with an inspirational photo that is perfect for this time of year!
Card Details: My card was inspired by a mix of a card I made about ten days or two weeks ago and this card Here. The background is a stencil from Miss Ink Stamps. The Cloud dies are from MFT. The sweet bunny and sentiment are from Avery Elle. The balloons were first striped with Copics and then cut out using a die from Spellbinders. The hearts are something I pulled out of a set and sadly now I can’t remember which one, as I leave them in a dish on my desk full time.
I am also linking my card up over at Festive Friday and I have chosen; Hearts, Pink, and Something Shiny
I certainly hope you pop on over to the Color Throwdown and check out all the inspiration from the Design Team and play along! Take care, Nanc’
It’s Color Week at Just Us Girls and Cecile is our hostess and she has chosen a fun color combo for us. I know you might be a bit tired of seeing these Otters, but I just adore their sweet faces and thought they might work well with this combo.
Card Details: MFT-Otterly Love You, Heart Stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps. The heart border at the bottom of the card is a Martha Stewart Punch. I used Copics for my medium and a little Prismas and Gold Nuvo drops to color in the heart. I have used dimensionals too.
I hope you will come over to Just Us Girls and see what the talented DT and Guest-Fran did with this color combo! Take care and happy crafting, Nanc’
Hello, I have a quick card for you today that I am giving to the hubster, as on the 14th we will be celebrating the day we met-32 years ago. We try to do something special on that day as well as on our real Anniversary. My card design might look a little similar to some other cards I have posted before but this one is a bit different. For this card, I used a round shape as my focal point, a different patterned stencil, and colored my cute otter brown instead of grey.
I am playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and I am using the top row of; Something round, outdoors, and stencil. I will also be joining in the Happy Little Stampers– Anything Goes with Stencils.
Card Details: Otter- MFT, Stencil is from Wayco and called Groovy, I used Copics and Colored Pencil as my medium and the fish are from SU. I used Oxide inks for my background.
I certainly appreciate you stopping in. Things have been busy lately and I am hoping to get more time to craft very soon. Take care, Nanc’
I am back again today with another card using the MFT card kit and If you are tired of seeing these types of cards, I am truly sorry! Not sorry enough to stop, but still very, very sorry! LOL. As soon as I saw the challenge photo over at The Card Concept, I knew this set would work so perfectly. See, I was forced to use this set again! Isn’t that sentiment just fabulous?
As you can probably tell, I was inspired by the colors, the stars and stripes, and the cozy setting for a Clean and Layered Design.
Card Details: MFT Couch Kit, the brick wall was made using a SU embossing folder that I inked with brown ink. The brick background had been in my stash for quite some time and I am happy that I finally put it to use. I inked the sky of the window with Oxide Ink. The Picture window and drape die are an added accessory that doesn’t come in the kit. I am super glad I purchased it though.
I hope you enjoy your day and spend a bit of time doing something that brings you JOY!
Hello, I am back today with a couple of cards combining some backgrounds that you have seen me make in the past with some sweet little MFT Otters. I absolutely love making backgrounds and I think these came out great! I will say right away that I didn’t spend much time coloring these cuties so I am aware that they aren’t very good. With that being said, we don’t always have as much time as we like when we sit down to create, now do we?
Card Details: MFT Otterly Love You set, fishes stamp is SU, Perfect Pool stencil-MFT and the Wave is from Mayco-called Groovy. I used Prisma colored pencils as my medium-poorly. The Heart was punched out of red sparkle paper.
I hope you have a nice weekend and have some time to sneak away and get inky and escape the sad world we live in, even if only for a little while! Nanc’
Hello, It’s Color Week at Just Us Girls and Sue is our hostess. Sue has picked a perfect color trio that always results in great cards in my opinion. I liked it so much that I made two cards for this challenge.
Card Details: Card 1: The stamp is from Honey Bee Stamps.
Card 2: Choose Hope stencil and die set from Pink Fresh Studio. The cover-plate is from MFT.
Now head on over to Just Us Girls and get inspired by the talented team and guest-Mac and play along!
Hello, I hope your weekend is off to a good start! I have been wanting the MFT Otterly Love You stamp set for so very long and finally had the perfect excuse to buy it. I had a request for more cards using these cute little critters and I ran out of the ones my dear friend Barb had stamped, die-cut and sent to me. So I consulted the hubster and said, “Go for it!” Woohooo! I want to clarify he would never tell me no, he just helps me decide if he thinks it’s a good purchase and a stamp and or die I would use a lot. It also helps me diminish the guilt, as you know I need more stamps! LOL Who wants chocolate, perfume, or flowers for Mother’s Day anyway? Give this girl some stamping supplies and she is one happy momma! I may have thrown in a couple extra items in the shopping cart too, in order to get free shipping! Shhhhh!
Anyways, As soon as my box full of happy came on Thursday afternoon, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. I have been wanting to join in the MFT Sketch and MFT Color Challenge this week. The colors were so vibrant and the sketch was going to work perfectly for what I had in mind. Plus, SSS is having an IG challenge to use your favorite technique this month. I think you all have probably figured out by know that I love making stenciled backgrounds. So that is where my card began.
Card Details: I first ripped some old construction paper to make my masking pattern. I like to use something a bit heavier than copy paper, as it doesn’t curl as much when I hit it with a blending brush. I then got out my MFT Perfect Pool Water stencil and my blue tone Oxide Inks and made the background, making sure to use the four stripes in the sketch. If you look closely at the seafloor it has a very light Antique Linen Oxide edging as well. I used an old speckled stamp to make the sand look more realistic. I colored my otters with Copics and Prismas since I am still not very good at Copics alone. Since coloring isn’t my strong suit, I decided to use some die cuts that are also MFT- from the Beach Scene Builder and Under the Sea Die sets to finish off the seafloor. In the end, I am pretty happy with the way it came together.
Here are a couple more shots!
In case you were wondering why bubbles are in my design. Otters Blow Bubbles under water:Sea otters spend a large part of their waking hours grooming and blowing air into their fur to keep it in tip-top condition. The tiny air bubbles they work into their dense fur keep their skin dry, provide insulation and help otters stay buoyant on the water’s surface.
Thanks for stopping in. I love your visits! If you are a mom out there, I hope you have a very Happy Mother’s Day! Mine is going to be rather quiet, I do believe.
Hello, It is the first of February and time for the next duo of colors at Color Hues. We have the perfect pairing for this time of year. The colors Sheri has chosen for us are Red and Pink. So break out those valentine sets or what have you and play along!
A Few Card Details: I have a mix of supplies here which should not surprise you. The U die and envelope are both from Verve. The Love die is from Simon Says Stamps and the Sending is from Wplus9. My love die looks rather pink in the picture but it is red. Plus I do have red in the fun designer paper. This card came together rather quickly so I made a few extra for the stores.
Hope you will consider joining us at Color Hues! The team and our guest Julie have tons over there to inspire you!
Hello, I want to pop in today to post a card for the fun color challenge going on over at The Paper Players. These cards were super fun and so easy to make. The colors were a bit tough to photograph but the puzzle pieces that read “to pieces” were stamped in red ink.
Card Details: Stamps- Stampin UP, Martha Stewart border punch, The heart dies are from MFT.
